http://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/so...uber-driver-takes-cmpd-to-rock-hill/526634944Friends and family of Medina-Chevez are remembering him as a great husband, loving father and man of faith.
He was a religious man so he would do a lot of volunteer work, Bible classes, talking about his God to other people as well, friend Louis Maigon said.
Medina-Chevez was spontaneous and fun, Maigon said.
He was very loved in the community and he always liked to travel, and some days after service, he would tell his wife Elsa, Lets go somewhere, and Elsa would say, Where do we go? And he would say, Who cares? Lets just go and get lost and just find something new to do,' Maigon said.

Sources told Channel 9 that the body found was severely beaten and bound.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are preparing murder, kidnapping and robbery warrants for Diontray Adams and James Stevens. The two were arrested Monday in Maryland after authorities said they were driving Medina-Chevez' SUV.

Sources told WBTV the body of 44-year-old Marlo Johnis Medina-Chevez was found Thursday in a wooded area off the 2500 block of Mt. Gallant Road in Rock Hill.
The body was found with the hands and legs bound with duct tape, sources say, and that there appears to be blunt force trauma to the head area.
http://www.wccbcharlotte.com/2017/05/26/rock-hill-police-body-found-off-mt-gallant-road/UPDATE: A spokesman for Medina-Chevez’s family said Friday that his body was found beaten and tied up, and had to be identified using dental records.
CMPD says the Medical Examiner confirmed the results Friday afternoon.
The family is in the process of making funeral arrangements, and a memorial service for friends and family only has been scheduled for Monday at 3 pm.
CMPD says detectives are in Maryland now interviewing the suspects, James Stevens and Diontray Adams. Officials say the extradition process has begun, but there is still no timetable on when they will return to Mecklenburg County.
The regional general manager of Uber East Coast is donating $10,000 to the family of Marlo Medina-Chevez, a driver for the ride-share service found slain this past week. The family has raised $38,000 so far.
http://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/so...uber-driver-takes-cmpd-to-rock-hill/526634944Uber sent the following statement after the body was identified:
“We are devastated by the loss of Marlo Medina-Chevez.Our prayers are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
Family and friends of murdered Uber driver Marlo Medina Chevez went to court as the second defendant charged with killing Chevez went before a judge and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Thursday.
On July 19, Adams went to court, turned down a plea offer and entered a not guilty plea - much to the disappointment of Chevez' family who packed the courtroom.
During Stevens' arraignment on Thursday, prosecutors said Adams tried to rob Chevez, but there was a struggle and Adams cut the victim's throat with a knife.
If Adams took the plea deal, he could have faced up to 37 years in prison.
On Thursday, the family heard what they wanted - a guilty plea for second-degree murder. Stevens decided to accept a plea offer.
Stevens faces 240-300 months behind bars for the murder charge and 60-84 months for the robbery charge.
