Identified! NC - Mebane, Skeletal Remains near Buckhorn Flea Market, May'17 - Stephanie Rodgers

At about 12:28 p.m. on Tuesday, “skeletal remains” were discovered in a wooded area near 508 Buckhorn Road in Mebane. The remains were discovered by N.C. Department of Transportation personnel close to the entrance of the Buckhorn Flea Market.

Evidence found at the scene did not indicate foul play.

She was last seen at a Walmart about 4 miles from the flea market. I hope her family soon has some answers.

Chief Deputy Jamison Sykes said while there has been no positive identification, they have an idea of who the person might be. Sykes said Investigators think the remains had been at the site for "at least over a year."

Identified as Stephanie Rodgers:

The Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Raleigh identified Rodgers' body using dental records, officials said.
Officials didn't release information about how Rodgers died, but foul play is not suspected. The Orange County Sheriff's Office and Hillsborough Police Department are continuing to investigate her death.
