Catching up on this trial.

Hi All! Chelly, thank you *very much* for the tweets. I got caught up quickly because of your generous posting of Ed's tweets.

I too don't think this is a DP case. If the guy who actually killed her didn't get the DP, then this loser shouldn't. Life in prison is enough.

Can't imagine how the 8 yr old was able to sleep through that attack. You know they would have killed the girl if she had awoken and gotten up to investigate. {shudder}

HiYa, Mad74 -- glad to have you here!

I'll have to go look, but about Hannah sleeping through the night (thank heavens), there was a sound machine in her room, but I don't know what kind, etc. I remember thinking how glad I was to hear that.

And I agree with you & others that this is not a DP case, IMO -- even though Anthony took a LWOP plea instead of facing a DP trial.

If you are not aware of it, trial archives are being kept by youtube here:

And Hi all WS Peeps, just getting here.

Ahhh -- it wasn't a sound machine -- it was a fan which, as described by the witness, was "quite loud" when investigators/CCBI personnel went into the child's bedroom. Please forgive my rock-solid <choke> memory....:shame:

Is the daughter back with her father (since the murder)? Or, is she living with someone else?

It's chilling that there's blood spatter next to the child's door handle. Thank god she didn't wake up. Redden testified that one of the two men said something to the effect "thank God the kid didn't wake up." In essence, IMO, "we would have had to kill her, too."

And I still can't get over a cop driving through the parking lot right in front of this apt building while they were inside! Help was so close. :(

I wonder about whether Ronald Anthony did the killing alone since he seems to be the bolder, more aggressive one. But Travion had blood spattered on his shirt per Redden's testimony. So it would seem he had to be near by. Damn them. There was no reason to kill her. All they had to do was run to get away.

The defense has asked several witnesses -- those who were in the apt. after the murder, detectives, etc. -- "Did you go out on the balcony?" What is the big deal with the balcony? Did Smith claim he was out there during the killing and didn't know it was happening, thus didn't participate, or what? I can only assume we'll find out about it when they present their case, but unless it is only mentioned during closing, how will the defense get it into the record? It's puzzling...

Maybe there's some evidence that is going to come in (forensic evidence) and the defense is going to try suggesting that there was contamination on the patio, as a way to explain something that makes their client look like he was more involved.
