Right now, since NC has not executed someone since 2006, the DP means only that the prisoner will wear a read jump suit to show that he is on death row. Each prisoner has a private cell, and there is a dayroom with tables and a TV that he will share, if he chooses, to mix with the other men sentenced to death. Not a bad deal, IMO.

IMO, Waller's pitch for aggravating factors, and finally his pounding home the brutality & hate shown by what they did to her/her body was very well done. He was angry and made a solid argument.

We'll see how the DT will try to wipe it all away in a few minutes...

I just saw Travion smiling and smirking with someone in the gallery. Who does that? No remorse is probably right. My guess is this is the most attention he's ever had in his life and he enjoys it.

I hope he gets LWOP. I hate to think of Melissa's children getting dragged through appeals processes for decades which would probably happen if he's sentenced to death. And NC never executes, anyway.

I'd like for him to get the DP for slap-in-the-face reasons, for not pleading to 1st/LWOP, for the non-remorseful smirks, and for the cruel and heinous murder of an innocent victom -- but LWOP would be much less stressful for the victim's families, and it would be less complications in the future.

Drama in the court! What happened? I took a bio break, came back and the bailiff was escorting a woman, who was speaking from the gallery, out. They're going to look at her phone for recording's and video. What happened? I think the reporters are out doing their noon segments, darn.

Oops - Judge said that someone had mentioned that there was someone in the gallery who was using a device to record and/or take pics of the witness/courtroom. She is seated beside the defendant's sister, Love. A bailiff escorts her out so they can see what pics she may have taken -- obviously autopsy or death-scene pics are not allowed to be shown to or viewed by the public (unless in M.E.'s office). Interesting...
