Odd the missing poster doesn't mention where she is from (and presumably driving back to from Texas). I suppose it might be implied she's from York County since that's the LE jurisdiction that's involved.

It's about 880 miles from Catawba, NC to the Texas border. 13 hours at least, more depending on how far into Texas she had started from. It could be many hours more.
If she drove that straight through, she'd have to have been exhausted. An accident would seem likely. Did she stop halfway to sleep?

She would’ve been so close to home! York county is located just south of the NC/SC border. Mapping a likely route from TX via I-85, Michele may have missed her exit and taken 321 North to reach Catawba county, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She must’ve been exhausted from the drive.

IMO, she is missing from South Carolina. Her last known location is possibly Catawba, NC.

Catawba is 61.6 miles due north of a random Google Maps point in York County, SC.
We need to know where in Texas she started from, but in general, she could have overshot her intended exit to York County and easily ended up in Catawba an hour later.

similar to Marilane case recently, no?

She would have encountered some inclement weather depending on her route due to the remnants of Hurricane Laura.

Interstate 10 at Lake Charles is closed.

Could it be Catawba, SC?

Her FB page shows she's from Rumford, Maine. ETA - It appears she lives in S.Carolina.

Her ‘About’ info indicates she bought a house in Ft Mill in 2008. I don’t see trip details on March 23 post.

You would think that you would know where you where twelve miles from home. Would there have been any flooding in that area from the hurricane?

I believe that it's Catawba NC, not SC, unless there's a typo.

No flooding in that area.

I’m not on FB, does it indicate where in Texas?
