DURHAM -- Police are counting on an autopsy to identify human remains discovered Thursday beside Chandler Road near N.C. 98 in eastern Durham. Some city public works employees discovered the decomposing body in a ditch and notified police, Durham police Cpl. David Addison said Friday.

Something that might identify the deceased was found, Addison said, but investigators hope the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will confirm it. That could take as long as three weeks, he said.

The Durham County Sheriff's Office wants to know if a woman's murder is connected to other killings across the county... The latest victim is 44-year-old Wanda Rose Spence, whose body was found wrapped in plastic in a wooded area along Old Oxford Highway...

The body of Crystal Lynn Baker, 24, was found dumped near Chandler and Ross Roads back in January. She was beaten and stabbed 36 times...

The sheriff's office is even looking as far back as 2005 - when 32-year-old Michelle Royall was found shot to death - also on Chandler Road. Police say she too was soliciting for prostitution.

On January 27, 2005, City of Durham workers discovered the body of a female off the road near a creek in the 200 block of Chandler Road.

The female was later identified as Michelle Spencer, AKA Michelle Lynette Royal, and she had died from a gunshot wound.

Is this still unsolved? It isn't listed on Durham PD's site. Which there are a few others that are not listed either. I found this thread because I was searching for more information on Crystal Lynn Baker's murder.

Edit: Still unsolved. Her name is listed as Michelle Spencer.
