Last week, I was finally given access to a site that from all indications looked very promising, but were unsuccessful in locating Nancy or the vehicle she went missing in. Detectives from LPD and supporting agencies were present for the search along with representatives of the site owners. For privacy purposes, this is all I can say at this time.

The search for Nancy continues.

Thanks again Vern

When mapping one of the boyfriends relatives (Van Lys) residence, knowing he was charged with obstruction I found he lives in Greensboro. If you map from the boyfriends home to that relative it takes you by a big lake Lake Thom-A-Lex park. Has this area been searched? Definitely access to the lake there and Def big enough to hide a car in. Just a thought in case they think he helped dump her and the car. Just curious if you have searched this body of water.

Congratulations of your first post!

The boat ramp and area on both sides of the bridge crossing the Lake Thom-A-Lex and the boat ramp at Old City Lake Park were searched on the second day that I was searching for Nancy. I have also checked out a quarry nearby called Open Pit. It has huge berms and chain link fence around most of it. I have yet to see a way of getting a vehicle into it. Doing a drone flight over it the next time I am up that way.

If the lake's name seems peculiar, it's because it's short for "Thomasville and Lexington", the two closest cities. It's also both city's water source so motorized boats aren't allowed. Just a guess, but I suspect because of this they monitor the water for pollutants and might see any petroleum products that could show up from a submerged car.

I use an electric powered Uncrewed Sonar Search Boat (USSV) that I operate from shore and also have a beefy 64lb thrust trolling motor for my 9.5 ft Bass Hunter EX that I turned into a sonar search vessel. I have done the boat ramps and areas within range of the USSV but plan to map the entire Lake Thom-A-Lex and City Lake.

Any news about this since you seem to be local to the area?

I have been watching this story develop and chatting with the family. Until the remains have been identified there is not any further news than what has already been publicly disclosed.

A few updates:

The search for Nancy continues. Last week there was a search of an area conducted by LPD with a dozen searchers, HRD K9's, and myself clearing bodies of water with sonar. There are many more searches in the works. Some will be led by LPD to look at specific areas with ground searchers and HRD K9s. I will continue to assist LPD with water searches as well as continuing on my own. It will be a busy summer.

Jonathan Lam, Vienchan Lam, and Van Lam all had court dates last week. I was present at one of them but they were all pretty much the same outcome. The DA has pushed for trial dates to be set in their felony obstruction of justice charges relating to Nancy's case. DA said the time for negotiation is over. All three have court dates in June to set trial dates which will probably be set sometime in August. I've been told the evidence against them is very strong.

Ricky Lam was arrested back in April of Misdemeanor Child Abuse and Simple Assault. I have been informed this stems from a confrontation with the teenage son of Ricky's new girlfriend.

Let that sink in....
