NC - Shaniya Davis, 5, 11/10/09 TRIAL THREAD

Agreed poor little boy, if you can find anywhere that has any of that info I would love to see it, that's the missing link for me its driving me nuts, I hope he gets adopted and can get past this in his adult life, they have ruined so many lives with this! I detest this 🤬🤬🤬

I used to have a notebook with EVERYTHING imaginable regarding this case. Including articles and sources. Family tree. Photos.

It went POOF. Can't find it anywhere.
I know the link to that article is in a thread here. But I have no clue how I would find it.

But I'll certainly try to find it here and on the net and will post if I'm successful.

Does anyone know if the blanket was the same as the one found at the trailer park or a different one, I thought I have seen the trailer park blanket reffered to as a comforter ???

IIRC one was found in the neighbors trash can so I'm thinking different blankets.

Oh, I cannot bear to think this horrible inhuman monster had been with Shaniya before that awful night. I know he certainly may have, but it just makes me so sick to even think of it.

I'm a tough old grandmother, but I can hardly bear this. The first night Shaniya was missing, we all sat on her thread in agony for her and worried out of our minds. We listened on the scanner thread for any news. It just got worse from there. Then she became a part of us and always will be.

I will never, ever forget this precious little girl. My granddaughter was stationed at Pope Air Force Base, and her husband was at Ft. Bragg. She helped look for Shaniya. She is out of the Air Force now and they are at Ft. Bliss, Texas. I was telling her the other day about the trial and she said she had wanted to be at the trial and hates she couldn't. She can only follow it in the FayObserver now.

I couldn't sleep so I got up and checked this thread. Shaniya has touched me even more than little Caylee and that is saying a lot. My only consolation is that she is a little Angel never to know any more fear or pain.

Sorry to get so carried away but I just care so much. GB all of you who do.

Well, LaLaw, your post got me choked-up again (big fat surprise, that one), but anyway, I agree. Our pretty girl is up there listening to the real Saints tell stories about the good ol' days of Samuel, Moses, "Dem Bones" and all that. She is smiling in a way we cannot imagine back here on this still-so-far-from-perfect planet.

I have another question for you, but I've got to see if it's okay to ask it. BRB.

((hugs))

her poor brother. I wish his testimony wasn't needed. I hate the idea of him being bullied on the stand. With this group of unusual persons who are his family members there is no telling what horrors he himself has seen/lived in that trailer.

I hope he has good support now but clearly before all this with Shaniya, his life was likely ugly and chaotic in that mobile home.

My feelings exactly, tlcya -- He was a little boy then and he's a little boy now. Oh, I hope he wakes up smiling in the mornings now. And, as I said before, he's old enuff to know more about things and life in general now. I hope he is around good folks and feels like he fits in somewhere.

We are just thrown out into this world as babies, and we don't have any say-so about how we're treated for a good many years. Some of us are/were so fortunate to have a good home to fall into, and some of us were not so lucky. He also holds a special place in my heart.

Did he go into the foster program when his ~mother~ was arrested? I assume that's what happened. Where are the rest of the family now? Are they still in that home park?

Changing the subject -- now that we're starting to hear about forensics, the stuff may start hitting the fan. I hope we've got some solid stuff to put on the table for the jury to see. Ummmm, I worry. My cynicism grows by leaps & bounds when I'm "watching" a trial that I can't see.... or certainly while I'm watching one that is so hard to see....

:drumroll: TheCheese -- bbm -- I must stop now to thank you for giving us, in such a good way, the tweets you have been observing. It is a special way for us to feel a part of it during the day.

Thank you to the very kind poster who inquired about my well-being and was concerned I hadn't posted re: MMA's trial. (hugs, my friend.)

Unfortunately I can't comment much- but please don't take that as I have forgotten about ya'll or Shaniya. My passion for her is greater than ever and I am thrilled that after such a long wait we will finally know the outcome of her murderers(s). Unfortunately we will also find out much of what she was subjected to during her time spent away from those who loved her. :(

Anyway, just wanted to let ya'll know I'm here, and I'm glad that this trial is ongoing during perfect planting time, so we can revitalize Shaniya's garden after a very tempermental winter. :)

Peace to all, and in hope for justice for our sweet Shaniya.

Kirby: Shaniya Davis murder case more complex than TV
You won't find Perry Mason up there on the fourth floor of the Cumberland County Courthouse.
Or Ben Matlock in his seersucker suit.
Or prosecutors Sam Waterston and Steven Hill from "Law & Order" television fame.
"The state's evidence," District Attorney Billy West said Monday in his opening statement of the Shaniya Davis murder trial, "will show it was the defendant, Mario McNeill, that sexually abused, raped and murdered 5-year-old Shaniya Davis."

Oh, Oriah, I did wonder where you have been! I know how very close you are to this case and how hard it must be even now. You planted flowers for our precious Shaniya and kept checking their growth. I will never forget how dedicated you have been and will remain so. I cannot bring myself to post much because this upsets me so.

I don't know if I can bear to know all that happened to that precious baby. Shaniya's garden will grow again and I know your tears will water it.

There MUST be justice for Shaniya. There just HAS to be. GB you, Oriah. :please:

Oh, thank you LaLaw! So many of us have beeen waiting so long for some shred of justice for our baby, and now that it's finally coming it's almost as if "Is this for real??" Well it's for real. :)
Slow and steady wins the race, and personally I'm putting my faith in the prosecution here.

Prayer of the day:
Dear Lord, let Shaniya remember nothing of her time away from those who loved her, and only the time she now spends laughing, smiling, dancing, singing, and picking flowers from her very own garden.

In hope and peace,
Oriah

Jurors to hear forensic evidence today in Mario McNeill trial
A forensic technician testified this morning she found stains on a child's pair jeans in Mario McNeill's car.
Trudy Wood, who works for the Fayetteville Police Department, was testifying in McNeill's capital murder trial in Cumberland County Superior Court.
Wood said she processed a jacket, belt and jeans belonging to Shaniya Davis that were found in the back of McNeill's Mitsubishi Galant.

SO McNeil, good guy that he is, helped the family by handing Shaniya off naked to the unknown unnamed stranger who was to take her for school.

Riiiiiight

There is no way in H E double toothpicks this man gets off. they have too much physical evidence IMO.

SBI officer describes scene where Shaniya Davis' body was found during Mario McNeill trial Monday

Chad Royal, a crime scene investigator with the State Bureau of Investigation, is scheduled to continue his testimony this morning in the Mario McNeill capital murder trial in Cumberland County Superior Court.
On Monday, Royal told jurors that kudzu and other thick vegetation had entangled the body of 5-year-old Shaniya Davis when investigators found the child six days after she was reported missing from her aunt's mobile home in Fayetteville in November 2009.

Investigator describes site where Fayetteville girl's body found
The body of a 5-year-old Fayetteville girl had to be cut out of an overgrown kudzu patch with chainsaws because the vegetation was so dense, a state investigator testified Monday.
