It appears that nobody had legal custody of Shaniya. This is one situation that could have used a court order. :(

I used to live in NC and my husband was born and raised in Sanford NC. Back when I lived there 10 years ago, the law was that the mother was the default parent. If there was no legal custody/guardianship order, the child went to the mother, regardless of who had been raising her... until orders could be decided and signed by a judge. So, basically, the momster could have kept her from the father legally and nothing could be done until the father went to court and pled his case for custody. And in NC he probably would have won. The courts are pretty much split when is comes to mom vs dad unless there are major issues with one parent.

My husband has custody of his son, for instance, because the mother has issues.

Also, bugging me, is why Sheniya's last name is Davis:waitasec:, especially if she only had limited contact with the mother?
The other children have the last name Lockhart. It is painfully obvious from all the pictures of this beautiful child, how well taken care of she was, how she exhibited the privileges of being well-groomed and loved by her father and his family, which is such a startling contrast to the element in which her mother lived. The difference in these two worlds, had to produce resentment, from this mother, who was working two jobs, and living with her sister in a trailer. This envy would also would explain a huge disconnect from the mother to Sheniya, and why I feel she should never have been left in that enviroment without supervised visits.

My guess is that Brad wasn't there when she was born. That would have been the 🤬🤬🤬's doing.

My partner used to work with 2 sleazebags who visited Costa Rica-- they bragged about how they paid (something like $30) to have sex with 2 sisters, ages 12 and 14. They had even taken pictures of the girls during the acts, which they were flashing around to all the guys in the shop. :furious:

Report them for possessing child 🤬🤬🤬🤬. If they took photos I'm sure they kept them.

Are you saying you think AD physically abused Shaniya, causing her death? I have no doubt this poor little girl was being sexually abused, most likely from the day she got there. This whole trailer was filled with scum, and unfortunately these kids were stuck with them. It wouldn't make sense for McNeill to take Shaniya to a hotel because her mother beat her. McNeill got something out of the deal. Some sick satisfaction or money.

There was an article with the principal, or teacher, from Shaniya's school saying she became withdrawn in October. I wonder if anything was looked into at that end. A normal, happy, healthy little girl suddenly becoming withdrawn should have raised a huge red flag.

As far as Coe goes. He may not have had anything to do with Shaniya's disappearance that day but if he was staying at that trailer often, and had Shaniya calling him Daddy, then he knew damn well what that girl was going through. A trailer that size, they all knew.

YES, that is what I am saying.. A.D. physically abused her and caused little Shaniya's death. MOO. RIP SWEET ANGEL

Has it been confirmed that dogs hit on a towel in the hotel room?

If so, any info on whether they were k9 or cadaver dogs?

If Shaniya was laying on the bed, with no towel, wouldn't dogs hit on the bed? If she had a bath before laying on the bed, would the dogs hit or no?

Any help/info appreciated.

IMO It's been warm and very wet, she's been dead for almost a week. She would not look like that sweet little girl we've seen in the pictures.

In in southeaster VA and we had a Nor'Easter that lasted for three/almost four days. During those days Shaniya was missing. I know the Outer Banks of NC suffered during the Nor'Easter too but not sure about Sanford.

This is something else I missed. Having a hard time processing information today, for some reason. I should be in bed.

That was my thought too. And even if he was there, he may not have argued the last name.

For a week I've been reading and reading and hoping any praying. Now we know the worst has happened, but in a way I'm relieved. This child will no longer suffer fear and pain.

However, after all I've heard and read, "I" am not willing to give a free pass to anyone involved in this case, no matter how much they grieve. In my opinion, the minute the aunt heard bio-mom say she would never see Shaniya again, I would have been on the phone to dad. If I were dad, I would have been on a plane to "take" that baby away. Let the law sort it out afterward - after all, HE had been raising that child for how many years? To just let bio-mom have her without really checking things out is, in my opinion, not good and if he was such a smart man that he need to travel for his job, he should have known that. Yeah, I'm sure he's hurting, but not nearly as much as his daughter did. An ounce of prevention and this thread wouldn't be here, IN MY OPINION.

As for the other side, and the perp(s), draw and quarter them. Maybe, just maybe when these filthy beasts realize there WILL be consequences, they'll think twice before hurting innocent children.

Sorry, but I can't let ANYONE off the hook in this case, including the aunt BD who was renting the trailer. In my opinion, unless she was deaf and dumb, she had to know something.

ALL OF THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, DRAWN FROM ONE WEEK OF WATCHING THIS CASE UNFOLD AND ENDING WITH A DEAD, RAPED BABY.

Yes, Sanford had lots of rain. I am in GA and we had over 6 inches because of the tropical storm that hit Alabama. All of that rain system went up through the Carolinas. We have family in Sanford and they said it was bad. Very windy and rainy for almost 2 days. It was right at the weekend I believe.

I have some questions. I've been following from the beginning but don't have time to read every single post.

- I've read here, but not in any news articles that I can recall, about feces being all over a certain part of the trailer (a door or the porch maybe? I can't recall exactly). Is this true? And how much feces? A lot?

- Someone else asked about how much feces was on the blanket and I wonder that also.

- If DCFS had prior involvement at the trailer, was it regarding Shaniya or other children living there?

I think I had other questions but they must have fallen out of my brain.

TIA!

Sorry to everyone if i repost links.

Here in Maryland we had heavy wind and rain that started Wednesday and ended Saturday morning. It caused lots of flooding and lot's of accidents. It was a cold awful storm. I hate to even think of that baby laying there during that!

IIRC, it was mentioned by the neighbour (whose trash can the blanket was found in) that there was feces on the blanket and porch. I don't recall LE ever stating it.

I'm unclear as to when DSS was involved. Maybe someone else here knows.

Good am, more charges (my apologies if posted previously, am still catching up this am).

SANFORD - Shaniya Davis was alive when she left a Sanford motel, Fayetteville police said this morning in a news release.

Additional charges are expected today in the death of the 5-year-old child whose body was found in a wooded area off Walker Road in Lee County just before 1 p.m. on Monday, the release said.
