I have no idea where, but I would say a known home to both of them where "crack" or other drugs were being used and sold...they partied all night, they drove in to the park, the mother and MAM had already made a deal with someone they were with that night.
The mom gets out calls 911 makes the mistake of saying put her back to bed...
He drives off with SD.
The motel was a meeting place... the news had already hit he stayed an hour waiting...noone showed and he left the motel with her then stopped raped and killed her.

WOAH....I hadn't heard that one. I noticed the drastic age difference...considering AD is only five years older than his son Byron but I hadn't heard how they met. If true that's seriously disturbing and could explain why Cheyenne and the Grandfather have some bad blood for Dad.

I'm giving this some stock. Otherwise, it sounds goofy. You have a one-nighter and then call the guy nine months later asking do you remember me. Get down here and sign the birth certificate. Everyone in the family seems to know her and I don't think she comes over for Sunday dinner. I think she has a history with the family and could have babysat for Brad.

Where did you see this?

Let me just say this: poor doesn't equal filth. There is no excuse for living in filth. I have seen filth and was shocked that anyone I knew could possibly live like that. The girl was an LPN, husband worked at a very good job, 3 kids in school, new cars, etc. One step into the house and I gagged, literally gagged, in front of her and lied and said I was a little flu-ish. They put their cigarettes out on the floors on the house they were renting. The floors were as littered and dusty as a dirt road. There were coins thrown about, crumpled cigarette packs and used up match books, lighters, fast food wrappers and bags, 1/2 fill glasses with something scummy in them everywhere, dirty dishes that were piled everywhere, dead bugs, live bugs, holes in the walls, broken screens and windows, furniture full of stains, rips and burns, holes in shredded draperies, broken window blinds, dust and dirt and webs hanging from light fixtures. The new dining room table was set in china for display amongst piles of garbage bags that never saw the curb.

If you saw them on the street, you would never know. They were not poor, far from it. They weren't drug addicts either - both had professions that required drug screenings and they went to work everyday They just lived in filth.

As I got to know them, I found that they were violent with each other, insanely jealous and would go to great length to "mess" with the other in some odd game they played. I also came to understand there was some mental illness on both sides of the families and these 2 had been raised in truly dysfunctional homes by schizophrenics and criminals. Although they tried, they couldn't overcome their upbrining.

On the other hand, I have known very poor people who washed their children and their clothes in the river and hauled buckets of river water home to boil for cleaning the home and cooking nutritious meals from animals they hunted and vegetables they grew. Their parents preached to them that there was no shame in being poor, but great shame in being dirty. They worked hard and did the very best they could to raise their children properly. There was no domestic violence, they attended church regularly and all the children grew to be very kind and loving people who were also successful in life.

So, don't give me that they were too poor to provide a better living condition for themselves and their children.

Poor doesn't equal stupid, cruel or criminal either.

Poor people don't kill their kids just because they are poor or prostitute them for a loaf of bread.

Shaniya has at once captured my heart and broken it.

I grew up pretty poor, but the kind of poor that you don't really realize is poor until you get older. My mother grew up poor too. She was a good housekeeper, not fastidious but good. What she was fastidious about was her five children. Nightly baths included scrubbing tools made of bristles and stone. The bath water was HOT and you did not get out until you were clean. Mom always said that just because you were poor, didn't mean you had to be dirty. I can remember her complementing me on my new nail polish as a girl, but adding that nail polish doesn't cover up dirty nails. Then off to the bathroom for me to use the nail brush. I love that woman.

I know these trailing dogs are amazing, tho it was raining... and now I can't help wonder could the reason be because MAM was carrying her everywhere

:parrot:
I think you're right on both points.

I always though it was very odd, that he was carrying her and she was awake. A happy 5 year old does not want to be carried. That is for babies in their little independent minds. At least that is how I remember when mine were that age. Only sound asleep could you carry them.

I think he was carrying her like a "child bride" to "give away". Something ritualistic about it.

That sounds plausible. I think MAM killed her too. What do you make of no scent around the trailer? What was Shaniya doing for three weeks at the house? Not sure how long scent lasts but she never went outdoors - carried her to the car?

I agree. I watched the brother's interview and found it interesting that he stated that he didn't really interact with AD accept on a hi and bye and basis when he would pick Shaniya up. But he then went on to say he picked her up from her aunt or grandmother's house, so I was slightly confused to when/how he came in contact with AD at all. She would have had to have been at the Aunt or Grandmother's house.

Thank you, kiki! I knew about the video of folks searching, but wasn't clear about the trash can. (I work long hours, and am usually playing "catch up".) I agree that the "prepping" is a definite possibility. Ugh!!!

Yes LE said figure was viewed on tape walking from neighbor's trash can back toward the mh...

Of course since AD claimed to LE and on 911 to have gone outside mh and searched 'everywhere' that was no doubt her explanation for those observed on tape by LE exiting mh at 5:30 am ish. I'm wondering if whoever emerged (AD) wasn't in fact seen first looking around--but then subsequently loading Shaniya into MAM's car. A detail they've just not yet released?

 I hope not

I would think that he was carrying her because she was barefoot. That and if he would have let her walk, she may have ran away.

LE definitely stated early on they had reviewed SHollow surveillance showing both the figure seen walking back from neighbor's trash can (approx 3 am) as well as occupants of mh coming out and looking around (presumably 5:30 am ish). Don't think the quality at night is probably all that great. But it does prove someone was disposing of the blanket at that hour...

Which is another reason I suspect they were "prepping" Shaniya that night/early am for buyer... a request made in advance as part of agreed upon service?

Here's what I found but they don't mention the trailer video in this piece. But I know they reviewed.

Police found a blanket reportedly belonging to the child Wednesday and an Amber Alert was issued. A man named Clarence Coe was identified as a man seen leaving the trailer park where Shaniya Davis lived with the little girl in his car. He was arrested but was later released when police ascertained that he had had nothing to do with the 5-year-old girl's disappearance.

Investigators came to that conclusion in part due to the arrest of Mario Andrette McNeill Thursday, who admitted to taking Shaniya Davis from her home. Investigators had tracked McNeill after identifying him as the man seen on video surveillance footage carrying Shaniya Davis into a Sanford, North Carolina, hotel. However, he would not divulge her whereabouts.

ROTTERDAM:

Are you in Rotterdam? My husband is there at the moment. Funny... I guess I know now why I was so drawn to your comments. :)

Does anyone have links to these statements? I'd really like to read them. Thanks.

I know; it's like a puzzle. What were your thoughts on Brad's interaction with Byron. I thought he was going to sit on his lap for awhile there. It was creepy when Nancy asked him about COD and you could see Brad walking through the shadows toward him.

I believe they carried her out to the car the day before, went partying, came home at 5-6 she never got out of the car...with the rain and all the smell of feces the dogs couldn't get a positive response.

Hmmm.

I've watched that segment only once and I don't have much to say other than I think the dad should've been there from the beginning... not coming out like that during the interview.

I've seen people here discussing "the second kiss" Brad is giving Byron as if he's trying to say something, but that's not my opinion.

I think that hug was a " stop talking..everything we are saying is being dissected!

Here is an interesting video, she says the police had called off the search before the body was found.

http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/video?id=7121396

Yes, I remember this video. I was so surprised they were about to call it off. They hadn't been searching that long; it was a stroke of luck they found her. I'm sure who ever did this thought it was be like the Anthony case and would be months before something was discovered.

Ok heard some new reports on cnn that lead me to think and JMO it may be possible that AD owed MAM money and he came sometime that evening to collect and AD couldn't pay and subsequently offered her daughter. MAM takes her from the home. Other members in the house either come home or wake up and notice she is missing, AD calls 911 and reports her missing as if she didn't know what was going on. (Could explain the video of people looking for her/fake sounding 911 call) In the mean time MAM takes her to the hotel, finds out that AD has called police, leaves the hotel room and murderers her.
I guess I want to hold on to some hope that this was an isolated incident and that this poor girl was not continuosly brutalized the entire time she was living with this monster. Not that it would make the situation any easier, just saying.
