I do not live in what is perceived to be a good area. As a result I need to be ever vigilant with my children. I live in a financially poor household in a neighborhood that is known for having a crack house on every other corner. If I had my druthers I would live in a better home/neighborhood. I have even several years ago been in a situation where I had no gas service (could not afford to pay the bill and it was disconnected). I used electric space heaters for warmth, a crockpot, a microwave and a one burner hot plate for cooking. Was I a bad parent? No. I was a dirt poor parent. My children were housed in a clean home (not counting toy clutter). They were fed nutritious hot food, they were clean and presentable. Is it harder for parents in that position to be "good" parents? you betcha. Is it impossible? No way.

Even "bad" neighborhoods don't mean bad people or parents. I have cultivated my neighborhood. The other mothers on the block who wan't the best for their children and I work together to be the village and support team to help one another. Is our neighborhood as safe as it could be? Nope. Are my children safe? Yep, that is my full time job, making sure of it.

I believe that the residence of where Antoinette "said" she was living as she told BL she had her own place was different from the MH. I'm hoping that more of that will come out.

I guess we need to know where Aunt Carey took Shaniya when she turned her over to momster. I don't think we know that, yet. Would be a very interesting thing to know!

Heaven forbid dad be expected to check out where he was sending his 5 year old daughter to live!! Amazing.....

Seems is DID matter.
The other people and the activities in the house mattered. But if Creature wanted to get rid of her, she would have done it no matter where she lived. The general area wouldn't have mattered.

I'd love to see the phone records between BL and momster. How often before and after he sent Shaniya to live with her did they talk? Did he ever talk to Shaniya from when she was put there til her death? Did Aunt Carey or anyone from BL's family talk to her or see her? Especially after momster told Aunt Carey that she would never see Shaniya again! That just drives me crazy!

I guess I just wonder if Shaniya thought she had been abandoned by all of those she loved. Did she think the fight with her cousins caused to to be banished? Was she told by momster that daddy and Aunt Carey didn't want her? It was her fault that she now had to live in hell?? She was only 5....Bless her heart....I, right now, despise every adult that could have saved her. Hopefully, we'll find out that dad and Aunt Carey and TA and the ex in-laws were trying to get her back....

Amster, it was stated in one of the recent media articles/video's that Aunt Carey did not talk to her from the time she left her at momster's house. I don't know about Dad but I suspect he didn't either. This was exactly what Momster wanted and probably would have refused to let them talk to her anyway. I don't have a link and don't want to look for one but it's there.

she "told" him she had her own place...well the aunt dropped her off at Sleepy Hollow...

here are some pictures of it

http://www.wral.com/news/local/video/6397725/

now contrast that to where dad lives...big brick house with columns outside
and a bmw

and even if she "told him"..who leaves a kid without checking it out??

Repeated articles: dropped off at the trailer on the 9th of October. I'll go find the links.

I wish Barbara, Park Manager, would elaborate a little more concerning the sewer issue at that particular home. It would resolve all the issues regarding the condition of the inside of the home. All that I have heard so far is that the family couldn't return to the home because of the sewer issue.

  • #270
And that's why I said officially missing. A retired sheriffs deputy more than likely would consider "after she was missing" the same as "after she was reported".

Why look for anything more than show. Creature knew where she was.
At the very least, she knew she wasn't outside.

You're assuming, is all I am saying.

There are a few things I wish she would clarify. At this point she may have been asked to not speak to the media. Has she spoken out lately?

There are a few comments here about the HIV 🤬🤬🤬 boyfriend. I believe it's perfectly appropriate to talk about his man for his drug use /addiction and other issues. But livins g with AIDS or allowing a child to live with someone with AIDS is not by it self on par with living with a drug addict. Someone even used the term HIV ridden. Well, I am "HIV ridden". I have also raised 3 kids, one who is off to college next year to become a teacher, and another one who is joining the Marines just like I did. I have also helped to raise 3 other children that my husband and I took in over the years. WE spent 11 years helping to raise a child whose mother abandoned her at the age of 2. She is now a happy healthy 15 YO honors "student.
People living with HIV are just like anyone else. Some are good, some are bad. This man obviously is very very bad, but that has little to do with his HIV status.[/QUOTE

May God bless you JennyMominRI. You sound like a VERY STRONG person.

I have been wondering about the "boyfriend" and his cryptic-like message he gave to authorities. Something along the lines that Shaniya was never in the "living room" while he was there.

Was he trying to say she was in the "bedroom" instead?

Just wondering if he is talking.....

I haven't heard her on any of the cable shows in the last few days.

No one could have ever thought she wanted to "get rid of her"

I don't think that was ever brought up

however...just to let a little girl go to live in a place where male felons were living/hanging out???

no one checked...no one went there....what about AD's felon boyfriend and baby daddy C who was there??? did the dad/aunt know about him? That alone would be reason to not let her stay there

Why would DCF call him when he never bothered to get formal custody?

this is all CYA to me

so we should just say about any tragedy>..oh poor them...too bad , they screwed up but they are grieving

Parents let kid ride on back of a tiger...tiger eats kid..."oh gosh they had no idea that would happen"

why not let kids drive a truck?? Oh my..they wrecked the semi..who woulda thunk it ?

hey...why not let kids skydive....they can pull the rip cord..right?? "whoops....we are so sorry that happened"

Oh...please don't say anything bad about the parents....oh please..they didn't mean it...

put a 3 year old out on a freeway with their favorite beach ball..."he loves to play with his ball"...eeek.....well the parents were just letting him have some fun....please don't say a bad word about them

Oh..and you say "his reasons for letting her go there have already been stated">> how do we know the real reasons?? I have pointed out clear discrepancy there....1) mother did not have her "own place"...2) she was NOT working job for 6 months

The place was what it was...how can you blame the manager of the park??
it was the dad/family who took her over there

people who live in Fayetteville apparently know that is not a safe place....surely the dad knew that....he chose to rationalize things I think
and I choose to point it out

can you tell me why he needs a "foundation" or donations?? Can't he at least bury his child himself without people sending money?? How do you feel about that??

Why don't you pose your questions to him? I'm not going to argue with you about my opinion so it doesn't matter what I think about that.

WoW, I must have missed that.... who said they are certain it was Mcneill that picked her up? Do you have a link to it please?
**respectfully snipped **

According to this article it was MAM himself that admitted taking Shiniya from her home

"Police arrested Mario Andrette McNeill, 29, on Friday and charged him with first-degree kidnapping in the case. Investigators said McNeill has admitted to taking Shaniya from her home, "

Hello group.long time lurker not often poster here........ What greatly bothers me are the ones who are choosing to place blame on this father. I seriously doubt that any one of us has been a perfect parent.....no matter how hard we try. That being said, I also seriously think that neither the father nor the aunt seen any of this coming. I would venture to guess that when the Aunt dropped her off.....she wasn't allowed inside and this was probably the general rule. the "mom" came outside and got her. With that being said.......even if she had been allowed inside, the Aunt had no rights. I honestly believe that everyone needs to back off dad on this one. How would any one of us feel being in his shoes? "Mom" had always been satisfied with having Shaniya for a couple of days once a month or whatever......who seen any of this coming? How could they? Who would ever assume that any Mother would put their child in harms way....intentionally! As far as his "dialect" what does it matter? I would certainly hope that if I were in his shoes, people would find, not the way I talk but my actions at that timeas who I am... not how I speak.

Dad might have made the decision to let Shaniya go there ( but I also think he had no choice, if he let Mom have her once per month..."Mom" never made any demands to keep her) you can bet your last dollar Dad deeply regrets letting her go......Let's place the blame where it should be and not on a Dad who is clearly suffering.....

ok back to Kims flying saucer to lurk
I stuck up for daddy a long time. I am watching for now....
Seeing that baby had cigarette burns and he sent her there anyway. I cant pretend I did not read that.....Sorry......
Several people saw and addressed that issue with daddy about her cigarette burns........:banghead:
Also: I found it very strange when her little brother did say that she went to females and stayed clear of males (not quoting him) but that is a red flag too.

I have wondered if he was just speaking to the fact the mom said the little girl was asleep on the couch and he had never seen her sleep on the couch.
