He is safer in jail. If he were to get out someone will kill him. He doesn't deserve to live after what he did! Let him out and send him to Texas!
Here is another one.
From everything I read, it takes a long time for murder trials to begin.

Cooper case took 3 years to go to trial.
Seems this has been a problem for quite some time.
Here is an article about Cumberland County murder trial backlogs from 1998.

Murder Case Backlog Easing Some; Victims' Families Still Agonize Over Wait
FAYETTEVILLE Justice takes time. For the families of murder victims, sometimes it takes too much time.
A backlog of murder cases in Cumberland County means murder suspects won't go to court for two, possibly three years.
In Guilford Co. we have more than several inmates that have been in jail for
4-5 years, waiting to go to court. I think this is the norm in NC.
Thanks. I do realize these things take time, I guess what upsets me the most is the fact that AD is free and that there have been no indictments at all. Let's get to that stage and THEN I can wait for a trial...but FGS let's get started!

Sometimes these types of crimes are not isolated incidents, unfortunately. I do understand about the backlog, but it is possible that LE is looking into other similar situations and trying, sadly, for something bigger than the trafficking and murder of Shaniya. There may be other children involved. The street dealers of illegal drugs get them from somewhere...and those people get them from somewhere else. The currency is not always cash. This takes a LOT of time, if you want it to stick in court.
Just a thought. But maybe I'm just being hopeful.
MOO.
frustrated.
Where is justice? When is Justice?
I truly belive it's coming. Shaniya has NOT been forgotten. I know this seems like a cut and dry case, but I think it might not be. Just my opinion though.
Does anyone else think that Shaniya was not Mario's first victim?
IMO she was NOT his first victim!
