MAM had 2 other relatives arrested? I must have missed that.. I know that there were 2 other McNeills arrested around the same time but I must have missed that they were confirmed relatives. Can you direct me to any info?

I have a DNA question?
I know that DNA is unique to each person...
However MAM had 2 relativs that were also arrested and may be suspected.
IF they are suspects in rape also: Since they are MAMS family I imagine that the DNA would be very hard to separate.
I imagine it would not be a clear cut difference.
I imagine that MAM would be the one they hold to that DNA.
DOES ANYONE KNOW more about DNA when relatives are involved?

There are TWO types / classifications of human DNA – Chromosomal DNA and Mitochondrial DNA.

In layman terms Mitochondrial DNA represents the mixture of male and female parents. Chromosomal DNA is your own unique ID.

So depending upon what you are looking for, you would look at the different DNA.

I don't find the other two arrested to be that big of a deal, or any indication that they are related.
If you go to whitepages.com and put McNeill and Fayetteville in to search, it brings up over 100 people...

There's a good chance it means nothing, and it is not fact that these two are connected to M A McNeill, although they may be connected to each other.

This was one of the more far-fetched rumors I've seen yet. Someone searched the Cumberland County inmates and saw two people with the same last name/or variations of McNeil. Next thing...their pictures and crimes are posted and people were analyzing the similar noses. I think we are doing our part to deter crime.

Interesting. Does anyone know if that was BL's terminology as in his exact wording or is it merely the interpretation of the person reporting. In other words, it seems as if the reporter is paraphrasing rather than quoting.

In other words if someone describes a sexual encounter as "smashed it" or "hooked up" a reporter might convert whatever terminology was used into a term that was more vanilla and readily understandable by a broader public such as "one nite stand"

No, it's been used by Brad. Nancy and Oprah used it when speaking with him and he didn't correct them. It changed at some point to a brief something. My opinion - This Davis clan is well known by LE and I bet they were very curious to understand how he fit into their world. Since there is a child, one-night stand is as distant as it gets.

Good catch. I can't imagine a reporter putting charged words like those into his mouth, but then again, I've seen worse.

Reporter paraphrasings are such a common problem, especially for some reporters, I wish they'd stick to quoting their interviewees.

Same for getting dates and other facts wrong.
e.g., The reporter who said Carrie dropped Shaniya off on the 31st created a huge flurry of confusion, even though Carrie herself has been consistent that it was the 9th.

So, while I tend to think BL said it was a one night stand (because it would be a radical choice of paraphrase and I agree he'd want to distance himself from her), I guess we can't really be positive those were his words, without quotes.

Actually.... Mitochondrial DNA is just maternal - the DNA received from the mother. Chromosomal is our own because it's a unique combination from the sets received from both parents.

I do agree that she seems to be holding back on some things, as though she's trying not to air dirty laundry, maybe.
