Maybe it's just me, but this case is moving far more slowly than I ever thought it would.
Don't they have a confession? As this is certainly a death penalty case I am going to give LE the benefit of the doubt, and just hope they are doing everything by the book.

There is not a day that passes that I don't think of Shaniya. It has haunted me so that I almost wish I could forget. But we cannot forget!

I have a feeling that the official autopsy reports when publicized will inflame the public, and I mean INFLAME! I can only imagine what the report will be. I have to wonder if that is one of the reasons for the hush-hush.

I have never heard of Shaniya before and i am so shocked to read about her (I googled her name), how could her mother do this to her? shes 5! just saw some pics of her :(

poor poor girl :(

Just had to reply to your post. I feel for you right now, just finding out about this precious little girl and the horrible nightmare that she was forced to go through. Put there by her very own mother. This case made me literally sick. I live about ninety miles from Fayetteville and I don't think I will ever hear the name again without thinking of this little girl. This is not a case you are likely to forget, especially the photos of her being carried into the elevator.:furious:

Yeah, the elevator photos will haunt me forever. I remember how happy I was to see those pictures because they meant she was alive. Back then, it was my thougt that this was a custody thing and MAM was hiding Shaniya for the mother. I was elated!!!!!! Even the info coming from LE said they did not think she was in danger and she was being taking care of well.
Well, we know now that elevator ride was tragic! The monster did not take care of her. He was not protecting her! She was in grave danger when we see her little inncent face looking up at that elevator!
It makes me sick!
This case has had many of us on a roller coaster ride of emotions since day 1.

I will never forget those photos. I will never forget Shaniya. And I will never forget the monsters who did this. I hope and pray we get to see justice for Shaniya soon.

I agree. It was almost as if you could reach through your monitor and grab her. Sadly, she was already dead. I'm having a hard time following any cases after hers. It was so heart wrenching, I have no words.

On that note perhaps it WOULDN'T be a bad thing to get arrested planting her flowers for breaking some insane roadside-memorial law......

It is very interesting reading the articles recently posted.

In this article, it reads:
http://www.fayobserver.com/Articles/2009/12/17/961185

As part of the investigation, police have looked into the Department of Social Service's involvement with the Davises. After Grannis reviewed DSS records himself, he asked for the SBI's assistance.

Grannis said the SBI is not necessarily looking for criminal wrongdoing at the agency. The SBI was brought in for its researching skills with how to retrieve e-mails and digital records.

"We needed them for their expertise," Grannis said Wednesday. "They're really the only third party we can turn to with knowledge of how to retrieve computerized records."

Then here it reads:
http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=news/local&id=7175705

The SBI became involved with the case after Fayetteville Police Chief Chief Tom Bergamine expressed concerns that detectives investigating Shaniya's murder were unable to obtain records from DSS.

The FayObserver article indicates they read the reports and needed SBI assistance in retrieving computer info.

The abclocal article indicates the SBI was brought in as they were unable to obtain records from DSS.

No wonder the public gets so furious with DSS; most of it has to do with the lack of the FULL facts when reporting the story. :banghead:

IMO, nothing has fallen off the radar, we just have to wait for everyone to have their next court appearance.

Chance of Shaniya's mother having additional charges against her may never change, but anything is possible.

The Lockhardt family media blitz is over so we probably won't be hearing from them again until the trial.

Not sure if we will get a full autopsy report from the police until the trial.

I know I am spoiled from the Anthony case where we got to see everything, and disappointed the same thing isn't happening here. :(

I still think of Shaynia

I wonder...how did they know that Anoinette "sold her"?? WHO said that?? MAM....BD...Cox??

I wonder....has BD been the inside informer here?? did she cut a deal with LE right from the start?? Has Cox been giving information??

I hope they put out some info.....but I also hope LE is doing their work correctly...I don't want to see these perps slip out of any possible charges

I am amazed that LE seems to be having problems getting info from the state child care agency....why wasn't that given up immediately?? what is going on here???

I live in Florida...and yes, we have real "access" to "everything" with the sunshine laws

I don't like what you are thinking either Songline. If you are thinking AD will get away with this. But I do see why you are thinking this way. I want her charges stuck to her like glue. Praying that the state will figure out what they will be and formally charge her SOON. Time is ticking. IMO

IMO there is no way this "mother" did not know what was happening to Shaniya.
IMO She sold her
IMO that is a felony and a murder occurred due to the felony.

If she gets away with this, I will scream.

If there is such a think as justice, she will pay. IMO
YES but I want her to pay dearly with LWOP.
No BS :furious:
A trailer is not an estate...where someone can disappear from another wing of the house. PLEASE...
She had to have knowen any step that anyone took in and out of that place :furious:
But it is beginning to concern me deeply that she has not yet been charged. :(

Authorities begin combing DSS records in Davis case

http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=news/local&id=7175705

While I realize that the DDS records will not be made public...
I hope if Shaniya is mentioned or ADs Drug history is mentioned, that they can just give us
a paragraph that may be with regard to Shanaiya.
BUT...:( I think they buried it to protect their azzes.
No wonder they are looking for specialists to go fetch old deleted e-mails :waitasec:

I think it is also important to dig up what her father really knew.
Maybe they should also get the fathers e-mails and th Aunts too. :(

I think whatever they do learn from DDS will hopefully help to change some of the DDS policy.

SuzyQ I thought of that report so many times and I also thought that we should not see it, I thought we should spare her her and let her have her dignity, just knowing what we know is enough let the professionals deal with those details, I don't need to see that...I just may pass out.
Would I want to see it part of me would...I cant. I don't think Shaniya wants us to see her that naked.
Those details of her demise would be enough to pull my guts right out.
