Thanks for the good articles, you guyz! It's so nice to have locals who know neighborhoods, distances, and who have a "local" feel during an investigation. And to know which MSM to check first. (I grew up in a NC town not too far from the coast -- we watched WECT every night!)

Another thanks to you for your good comments. Very valuable stuff. Finally!!

I wonder how long it will take for an arrest of Bradley for Elisha's murder...

Why in the world would Bradley admit to washing his truck 3 times? Had he gotten it dirty after cleaning it two separate times after the first? Or was he being paranoid about what might be found on/in his truck? Or was he afraid it was on a camera somewhere or that someone had seen him do it -- 3 times?

Is he smart & cunning, or he is not at all? "Smart" perps can really get themselves into trouble, as we know... And not-so-smart ones only need to keep breathing, IMO... We'll find out soon enuff, I hope...

What if she did jump out of his car, run off and then he ran her down. That might have been a good reason to wash the truck 3x.

You just might be on to something there Just K. Hopefully forensics experts went over the truck with a fine tooth comb. The circumstantial evidence against Bradley is prettty d@mning.

CUE held a rally Sunday evening. It appears more searches for Shannon are scheduled. I hope they search all sites where Bradley landscaped in the months he worked at Mott's. IMO, since Elisha was found in a familiar place to him, Bradley would also put Shannon in a location familiar to him. My thoughts and prayers are with the searchers and Shannon's family.

Searches are planned for the most recent missing Wilmington woman, Shannon Rippey. She disappeared in early April.

OT Mr. wm phoned me about the developments while I was away. He said this case should be made into a tv movie or featured on one of those shows I watch on ID. :blushing: It seems every time I have been away the past 9 months there are positive developments in the cases I follow here at WS. And for that I am grateful.

Well if he did run her down, which is possible, did he bury her in that area? Have they looked all around there for blood and graves? Probably enough rain has come to wash it away! Did he say for sure where he was? OR did he load her in his truck and dump her elsewhere? What a jerk! I hate even typing such horrible things!

Hi sophiebelle. JOB said Shannon jumped out of his car at Greenfield Lake but LE said both phones were pinging at JOB's residence during the time in question. (IIRC) Then the phones stopped pinging so I have no idea where he could have taken her after that.
JOB is a jerk! What kind of person plants a vegetable garden with a female co-worker while a female victim is buried nearby? (If he indeed killed Elisha & IMO he did) I would bet that he enjoyed knowing he had a 'secret girl' buried there all the while he worked alongside Shannon. Sick! Ugh! I hate typing these horrible things also. All MOO!

I think this man has a severe hatred for females. I wonder what his daughter would say if she ever felt safe enough to do so. His kind is the worst, because there is a lack of soul.

I do indeed think LE ought to check (or re-check) the sites where he has been working, matilda. Familiarity is a bit calming, and he might know where the ground is soft from being worked for planting, etc. (Oh, that sounds so awful.)

He would need digging tools -- unless a hole was already there, waiting to be planted with shrubs, etc. And surely, Shirley, he would want to do it at night... so familiarity would again be a plus. I don't see him going 100 miles down a road unless it was somewhere he knew. Would he bury her (if that is what he did, highly likely, IMO) close to another one of his victims (if he is her killer)? I doubt it.

Yes, the bossman would be very helpful here...

The family needs results, closure. The sooner the better. <smh>

And yes, sophiebelle, a hatred of women might be at work here. Or a hatred, perhaps, of being told "No."

Grrrrrr.

LE should also check any properties that are in the 'prep' stages for landscaping by Mott's. If JOB had been doing preliminary/prep work before the actual landscaping took place then her remains could be there as it is a familiar place to him. Seeing JOB there might not raise any red flags with property owners if they had been used to seeing him working on the property.

Landscaping is a very time consuming process. (in my personal experience) It still creeps my out that Elisha disappeared in Aug 13 and her remains were found where he and Shannon were planting a spring vegetable garden. I wonder how long she had been there?

How convenient for a killer to also be a landscaper. No one would probably question him carrying a shovel and garden tools in his personal vehicle. My guess is IF JOB and Shannon were at his Flint Dr. apt., then she was probably still alive when they left there. IMO, it would be very risky to kill her there because (a) apts have thin walls and (b) it would be difficult to move a body to a vehicle in an apt complex without being seen. IMO, whatever happened to Shannon happened in his truck since he admitted washing it 3 times from when she went missing until police questioned him. (paranoid much?)

I hope and pray that LE was able to retrieve soil samples from his truck or work boots/clothes. It would help in determining whether JOB had been in areas inland or nearer to the coast and could assist in finding Shannon.

Moo and all that jazz! wm

People are wondering why the lake hasn't been dragged for Shannon's remains or clothing, shoes, purse, jewelry, etc.

Probably because they have another theory they're working with. Rumor mill has been mighty quiet about her lately.

Is it possible to drag a lake that is full of gators? Wouldn't you be just catching gators? I truly don't know. I just remember during the Trenton Duckette case, at one point LE was considering killing a large gator in an area that was a point of interest to them.

If there has been a search at Greenfield Lake we may not even know it happened. I've checked the CUE website for updates but there aren't any. I have no idea if CUE or WPD has a boat with sonar but it seems that would be the least disruptive way to search the lake as opposed to dragging it. There are paddleboats, walkways around the lake and lots of wildlife, mostly gators and birds.

IMO, JOB was lying about Shannon jumping out of his car and running at G.L. in hopes of sending LE on a wild goose chase. (no pun intended) I would have to feel extremely threatened by the other person in the car to jump out and run in that area at night due to crime. But like someone suggested up thread, perhaps Shannon did jump out and JOB ran her down with his truck and that's why he washed it 3 times after she disappeared.

I just don't think she is in the water. My guess is that he buried her somewhere or that she is in the local landfill. :( (based on the means of disposal of Elisha Tucker and his stepdaughter)

MOO

FWIW, I don't think she is in the water anywhere either, w-m. I think he buried her in a place familiar to him. <smh>

FYI. When searching bodies of water, police generally use a combination of sonar and divers.

Bumping for Shannon!

Murder convictions not unheard of even when there's no body

James Bradley is accused of murdering a Wilmington woman whose body police have not found and, experts say, could be convicted even if Shannon Rippy Vannewkirk is never located.

On May 16, New Hanover County District Court Judge Sandra Ray Criner ruled there was probable cause to hold Bradley, of Wilmington, on first-degree murder charges in Vannewkirk's presumed slaying. Bradley is being held without bail in the New Hanover County jail.

Maybe now he'll be all done with killing females.

  • #359
Just checking in, folks -- nothing new, I guess. Where is she?? She needs to be brought home.

I was looking at FB pics of my friend's retirement party. She lives near Wilmington, and it made me think about Shannon. I hate not seeing anything new.
