He took a shot to the head during wartime. So he is not really himself these days. He should not have had a weapon and I am not sure how he obtained them. We have to get that under control.

But I am not going to question his mental health issues because it is obvious that he had some very traumatic brain injuries plus traumatic experiences. imo

North Carolina has no red flag law though, and sadly, he’s the poster child for something like that.

I don't know but he was including his parents in his lawsuits, accusing them of crazy things (like everything else in his lawsuits). IMO.

I don't know. But, here is one of the court documents of his. He names his parents as defendants & has a footnote saying, "Exhibits attached to the complaint suggest defendants William DeBevoise and Sandra DeBevoise executed a birth certificate identifying plaintiff as “Sean William DeBevoise.”

Not sure what may or may not have been documented related to his mental health history.,

Someone else may be able to locate info from a more governmental agency, but a quick search brings this up for North Carolina.

A severe TBI can cause personality changes, cognitive, psychological or behavioral symptoms. Based on the content of his lawsuit, he probably lacked insight into his condition, and therefore wasn't seeking treatment or voluntarily giving up his firearms.

Do we know at this point if it was a legally purchased gun (although someone with paranoid schizophrenia should not be allowed to own any gun? JMO

By the way, I have eaten at Provisions Restaurant on the deck 2 or 3 times which is only a couple of places down from where this shooting occurred.

It is the most peaceful and happy area I can think of. And this guy shattered that!

Southport mass shooting suspect makes first court appearance

He appeared via video link in court on Monday following his arrest and charges related to the Saturday mass shooting.

David said in court that the shooting was “premeditated”. He stated that Edge was observed docking his boat at the same location on Friday night with the lights off. Later, another boat arrived, and Edge turned his lights on before leaving. David noted that his office believed Edge initially intended to carry out the act on Friday but was interrupted.

It was also revealed that the victims who died during the shooting were shot in the head.

Also, NE requested a court-appointed attorney. No bond.
