ok fellow WS. I was able to get a couple of good pics. First, is it against the rules to post them here? Second, if not how do I do this?
TIA

Now the shed is closer to the house than I thought. From the view on mapquest it looks like there are trees that block the home inbetween the shed......so not true!!

How could they not know she was back there??

Landonsmom. I can't thank you enough for going out to the home and taking the photos. Maybe PM one of the mods for assistance in publishing the photos? Sorry, I wish I knew the answer. I am just so proud of you for doing this for us.!!!

It must gave felt so creepy to be so close to that place :(

Not sure of the rules, so I shall wait to see if we get to "see".

At one time, it appears Teghan Skiba was a happy child as evidenced by the many photos in the Photo Gallery which was with her obit. There are currently 115 photos.

no it is not if you are local (posting pictures)

you can save them and then when you post hit advanced and hit the paperclip.. you can then add them from your computer file

nursebeeme, one more article of interest about Teghan's so called mother, Helen Reyes.

I won't flood this board with older articles .... last one, I promise.

News & Observer - Raleigh, NC -- 7/29/10

Mother of Teghan Skiba formally charged with child abuse

Snipped:

According to the arrest warrant, Reyes "had first-hand knowledge that this type of abuse had occurred prior to July 5 by Jonathan Richardson

Snipped:
The warrant also states that Reyes subjected her daughter to "verbal threats, intimidation, forced consumption of alcohol, severe physical beatings and assault by biting."

don't you dare worry about "flooding" and thank you for all the bumps in older articles.

*Snipped by me*

OK so not only did she go through hell, but she spent her birthday going through hell. I did not even realize that until now.
I know it's a minor thing in regards to all that happened, but a Birthday to a little kid is HUGE, it's like Christmas part II.
And how horrifying must hers have been?

Every time I read something more on this I just get angrier :steamed:

I see nothing about her... this is hush hush it would seem and that makes me even more angry! re: recent

IIRC, she had lived at home with her parents prior to moving in with JR. I thought I read/heard somewhere, when this first came to light, that neither her family nor Teghans bio father family knew where Teghan was.

The address listed for the mother is the home of her parents.

nursebeeme, the mother was in violation of her family care plan.

I read it in an article long ago.

Maybe someone here has an article regarding the violation of her family care plan readily available and can post it.

That's what I recall. Teghan was supposed to be staying with her grandmother.

There were happy times for Teghan at one time.

Video regarding pics the paternal grandparents shared with WRAL.

This video also has a close up snippet of the shed where Teghan was abused.

Slain girl's grandparents: We miss her

This is so true, "In North Carolina, grandparents do not have visitation or custody rights, a stance recently upheld by the Supreme Court. Under the law, they cannot seek custody of a grandchild unless there is solid evidence a parent is unfit."

A family member of mine went to a custody attorney and they were told they'd need at least a $20,000 retainer and they most likely would lose anyway. The standard of proof is nearly 100% impossible to meet. I remember these poor grandparents at the time, saw them on the news. :please:

That's about what we paid for my son to get custody of his son. Still, we couldn't get an emergency hearing (our third request) until his ex was hospitalized for a cocaine overdose and had my son come get her out so he had to sign all the paperwork and knew the details. After that, it was just his lawyer getting witness statements (the cop, the EMT, etc.). The system is a mess and provides little to no help for family members trying to get a child out of a neglect or abuse situation. JMO. OMO. MOO.
