Video: Jury sees evidence in Richardson murder trial

Video shows heinous living conditions inside the shed where a four year old girl spent the final days of her life.

This happened in mid July, 2010. Things would have been green and if deciduous shrubs and trees, they certainly would have leafed out by July.

Perhaps since then some of the shrubs have been cut back, cut down or pruned and in the pictures that Landonsmom posted up-thread, it appears there are deciduous trees and shrubs there.

You are welcome. I actually didn't realize how close this was to my home. I remember when this happened because it was on the news and in my hometown but also bcause I have friends in the ED and where there the day she was brought in. Like I said before. The description of her injuries was far worse in person. Some of the nurses who triaged her and tried to help her had to have counseling. I actually cried like a baby when I was leaving from taking the pictures. I just can't imagine.......

And yes, that shed seems to be very close to the house. Hmmm, what did he do to keep her quiet -- unless his g'parents were both out of their house at the same time he was, and that would be risky, seems to me. Anyway, he got away with it. Maybe she was just too hurt or sleepy or too scared to do anything "wrong." I don't even want to think about what he may have done to keep her quiet. My heart aches again. Oh, my.

Well, there is the duct tape with *hair* stuck to it that is listed in the evidence. But in reading through some old reports last night I did come upon there having been a room inside grandparents house that was also listed in the search warrant as having been *used* by JR. So he had his own room inside, and occupied the shed outside with Helen Reyes & Teghan before *mom* went off to national guard duty.

Well there were 3 other buildings on the property besides the shed. From google maps it's hard to really see the shed because it is covered by trees. But I think the satellite pic is from summer of 2012? I say this because when I pulled up my home, it was clearly an old one. It didn't have our trampoline pictured and my kids got that Christmas of 2012. So in the summer the trees are in full bloom and it makes it difficult to see.

Going back to the other buldings, there were 2 brown small buildings like where you would keep gardening tools. One you can kind of see in the picture I took. The other one is located to the left of the home near the edge of the property. One there was one more large building located way back to the left of the home. Very far away from the home and it looked like a garage/shop bulding?

Yeah, I think it was that large building way in the back that showed up so well on the google maps shots. But that building was rectangular in shape, not square, and didn't include the lean-to's at each end.

I watched the opening statements but had to switch off when the defender said the only way Richardson knew how to show love was through abuse, because he equated abuse with attention, because of what had been done to him as a child ... blah blah, cue violins. :what:

What a pile of steaming, stinking BS that is!

Makes me sick to my stomach that this excuse for a human being is even allowed to sit there in a courtroom and have someone attempt to defend him, insulting the intelligence of everyone who has to listen, in the process. Thankfully, unlike the jury and those present, I don't have to listen ... so I switched it off.

My prediction is death row and the jury won't take long to send him there either.

SMITHFIELD, N.C. (WTVD) -- A pediatric doctor testifying in the murder trial of Jonathan Richardson on Friday, told the courtroom he "nearly vomited" when he saw 4-year-old Teghan Skiba.

On Friday, Kocis said he "nearly vomited" when he saw the enormous amount of injuries that were inflicted on Skiba. Adding, that he had never seen injuries like that on any child in his 25 years as a doctor.

"We saw this small frail girl who you know from her status she was pale, she was poorly perfused, in shock, those parts ... don't portray how beaten this child was when she ... I had a first look at her," Kocis said. "These scars, these whip marks, these injuries to her skin that were all over her body, I mean there was essentially no part of her body that was spared."

His testimony got pretty graphic at times when he began to detail the extent of the girl's injuries.

The doctor said the little girl was flown to UNC Hospital as a disaster patient, nearly brain dead and just moments away from death.“Severe, extensive, those do not portray how beaten this child was when I had a first look at her. These scars, these whip marks, these injuries to her skin that were all over her body. It was essentially no part of her body that was spared.
