So what the heck were they sleeping on before he bought the mattress?

My thought is that it was stained with this, that, & the other, and he couldn't get it clean. Esso-bee. Grrrrr. He was trying to get things back to what they were... I can't say the rest...

B/c trial taking so long judge is being lenient w/schedule issues for experts on both sides in #JonathanRichardson capital murder case.

Heather Moore ‏@HeatherMooreNow 2m

#JonathanRichardson defense says will present witnesses. Schedule conflict for expert who can't be here til Thurs. Will have others til then.

Respectfully bolded by me...who? People who will verify that JR was spanked as a child? Well, whatever. He wasn't brutalized to death, so that story isn't going to wash with the jury IMO. The things they have had to listen to, the images they have been forced to see...he is going down. Way, way down.

Hopefully, Teghan's sorry excuse for a mother will follow not too far behind.

#JonathanRichardson took #TeghanSkiba to hospital on 7/16/10. He bought first aid supplies 7/15/10 at 2:44am.

He couldn't clean up the air mattress, so he bought a new one.

He couldn't clean up Teghan, either -- the flippin' Band Aids weren't big enuff, so he took her to the hospital so they could make her like new again.

(I've just about had it with this sickening piece of protoplasm...)

I was reading some here last night and my husband happened to look over my shoulder as I was going through the pages. He saw some of the photos of Teghan and mentioned 'what a sweet little girl she was' & 'how anybody could hurt that sweet child.......' <shakes head> It takes a special kind of evil, IMO. To lose ones temper and strike out in anger once, is perhaps understandable. Not *acceptable* but at least understandable. But to continue to torture and injure......

My husband was the same way, he couldn't even get through all the details because he was physically feeling sick. His eyes were all teary.. He had to walk away. He doesn't want to hear another word about it.

The brutality inflicted on an innocent 4-year old child is so extreme that I don't see that his lawyers can do anything except beg for his life.

Just thought of the only good news I've heard about this case: Closing arguments are expected to be live streamed.

My DH is the same way, Linda -- every time it comes on the news, I turn to see what they're saying, and he won't look at it. He cannot bear to hear it. He got choked up early in the reporting of it. If he were on the jury, I think he would be okay, but he prolly wouldn't get thru voir dire because of it. Defense would throw him out. GB him.

I think that's the main reason they're up there, gxm; I agree -- In NC, we have few DP cases, (the same may be true for most other DP states, too, IDK).

In NC a def atty must be "DP qualified" -- that's one reason the State has to announce well before the trial date that it is to be a DP case. So, the def attys who represent DP cases are mainly there for that, and, of course, to make sure the def gets a fair trial. Doesn't matter whether they are privately hired, or are from the State Defender's office.

IMO, if the DP is not the verdict in the penalty phase, they will consider it a win. Certainly in this case, IMO, a LWOP verdict would be a win for this sadistic organism.

Eff him. He deserves nothing.

Although I'm generally not a DP supporter, I must admit I have absolutely ZERO reservations about this amoeba being sentenced to die by any means available. The bad part is that even if he is sentenced as such, he will go on for a lot if years appealing whatever can be appealed. I just hope it's not much and that his solitary life on death row makes him wish he was already dead.

And to think Helen found this attractive.

I'm just blown away he thought he could get away with this. I can only imagine he has had some heavy-duty apologists his whole life.

4-year-old's alleged killer bought first-aid supplies before hospital visit

WRAL - Raleigh, NC

March 17, 2014

Smithfield, N.C. — A Smithfield man accused of torturing and raping his girlfriend's 4-year-old daughter was recorded on security video buying first-aid sup
plies at a local Walmart hours before he ended up taking the child to an emergency room for injuries witnesses in his capital murder trial have described as horrifying.

I'm appalled this disgusting human thinks he can get away with torturing and killing a precious child on the basis he was ill equipped to care for a child and felt it was normal behavior to treat a child in this manner. Using the excuse that he didn't bother to cover up his actions so he didn't see anything wrong with it. He lied about poor Teghan falling off the bed, he knew what he was doing was not ok, IMO.
