What makes me the maddest is I know good and well that this poor baby wasn't allowed to cry out much less cry period. But I'd bet my bottom dollar the g-parents had to have heard noises from that pig sty that would alert them to him abusing Tegan and they did absolutely nothing. NOTHING!!! Do you hear me? NOTHING!!!

I'm betting they all believe he DID penetrate her, but they can't prove it and they don't need to. There is plenty of other evidence to hang him.

Article 6.​

Homicide.​

§ 14-17. Murder in the first and second degree defined; punishment.
(a) A murder which shall be perpetrated by means of a nuclear, biological, or chemical weapon of mass destruction as defined in G.S. 14-288.21, poison, lying in wait,imprisonment, starving, torture, or by any other kind of willful, deliberate, and premeditated killing, or which shall be committed in the perpetration or attempted perpetration of any arson, rape or a sex offense, robbery, kidnapping, burglary, or other felony committed or attempted with the use of a deadly weapon shall be deemed to be murder in the first degree, a Class A felony, and any person who commits such murder shall be punished with death or imprisonment in the State's prison for life without parole as the court shall determine pursuant to G.S. 15A-2000, except that any such person who was under 18 years of age at the time of the murder shall be punished in accordance with Part 2A of Article 81B of Chapter 15A of the General Statutes.
(b) A murder other than described in subsection (a) of this section or in G.S. 14-23.2 shall be deemed second degree murder. Any person who commits second degree murder shall be punished as a Class B1 felon, except that a person who commits second degree murder shall be punished as a Class B2 felon in either of the following circumstances:
(1) The malice necessary to prove second degree murder is based on an inherently dangerous act or omission, done in such a reckless and wanton manner as to manifest a mind utterly without regard for human life and social duty and deliberately bent on mischief.
(2) The murder is one that was proximately caused by the unlawful distribution of opium or any synthetic or natural salt, compound, derivative, or preparation of opium, or cocaine or other substance described in G.S. 90-90(1)d., or methamphetamine, and the ingestion of such substance caused the death of the user.
(c) For the purposes of this section, it shall constitute murder where a child is born alive but dies as a result of injuries inflicted prior to the child being born alive. The degree of murder shall be determined as described in subsections (a) and (b) of this section. This trial....I know we are a society that values justice, but to me this whole trial is just a waste of time and money. He did what he did, no defense in the world is going to save him.

Like many here I have been following Teghan's case for some time, reading tweets, posts and news stories from day-one of the trial.

This morning I set the kitchen timer for 10 minutes, sat in a straight back chair in a quiet room and did nothing for ten minutes except think about every atrocity committed on Teghan's body. Those ten-minutes imagining Teghan's pain seemed like an eternity. I can't wrap my brain around the horror and terror that little four-year-old experienced for ten long days.

Yes, I experience those physical symptoms too. Way too much time has to pass before winding down from from that. It's almost similar to an anxiety attack. Wish I could have a good cry instead.

Do not worry, wonders, do not worry.

He has been charged with 1st degree Sexual Offense -- the same as 1st Rape but it covers more than just vaginal -- It could be that they knew she had been vaginally raped by him, but weren't sure they could prove that, possibly due to the damage to her there. The damage could have been more extreme than a mere penis could accomplish -- and that's what I think happened. JMHO.

Sexual Offense, which is his charge, is almost worse, the way it sounds, but the punishment is the same as rape. And if judged extreme, it could be LWOP. So don't fret, wonders, they are socking it to him if the jury finds him guilty of 1st Sexual Offense. No worry there. It's all in my post above, taken from the NC Law Statutes. Oh, yes, he's toast if the jury finds him guilty of this offense.

This man could get sentences of Life & Death, to be served consecutively if the judge pronounces it that way...

I have tried, but can't even get close to, imagining WTH was going on in JR's head. First of all, he spent 10 long days...around 240 hours...14400 minutes...864000 seconds restraining, torturing, brutalizing, biting, raping, beating, and god knows what else, this tiny, innocent, helpless baby. And then he takes her to ER and says she fell off an air mattress? How could he think ANYONE would believe this, much less trained professionals?

Does he WANT to be in prison? He obviously doesn't want to die, because he took it to trial, but he had to know he was going to prison. Had to.

I want to know what his game is. What is his plan? Because, I think he has one. He can't be THAT stupid.

omgosh you guys.. I cannot even thank the posts of what you are posting here because it is just so sick and terrible! I do want to say thank you for posting what is going on.

I cannot believe he even wanted a trial. Does anyone think that he wants the DP? What else would be the reason? It is so obvious what he did. They must have some mental health guru in their defense case (good luck with that.. not).

THERE IS NO DEFENSE OF THIS.
