GUILTY NC - Teghan Skiba, 4, Smithfield, 19 July 2010 #2

I have tried, but can't even get close to, imagining WTH was going on in JR's head. First of all, he spent 10 long days...around 240 hours...14400 minutes...864000 seconds restraining, torturing, brutalizing, biting, raping, beating, and god knows what else, this tiny, innocent, helpless baby. And then he takes her to ER and says she fell off an air mattress? How could he think ANYONE would believe this, much less trained professionals?

Does he WANT to be in prison? He obviously doesn't want to die, because he took it to trial, but he had to know he was going to prison. Had to.

I want to know what his game is. What is his plan? Because, I think he has one. He can't be THAT stupid.

Any thoughts?

I wonder when his last contact with HR was? I wonder if he is taking it the last mile for her/HR? (just a thought)

Also didn't HR testify that she talked to Teghan every day on the phone? Well I want to see those phone records to back that up.. oh and show me that grocery list too. :burn:

I think he may have been fueled by alcohol and drugs and found himself in a cycle he couldn't control. Clearly he was experiencing a degree of powerful, sick sexual pleasure

Pediatrician said #TeghanSkiba would have major problems, may not walk, possibly blind, etc. if survived b/c severe injuries.

I'm betting they all believe he DID penetrate her, but they can't prove it and they don't need to. There is plenty of other evidence to hang him.

I know. I said I was staying away. I just need to see this through for Teghan.

The NC law/punishment for 1st Degree Sexual Act is just as severe as for 1st Degree Rape; but it is broader in scope. Please read what the Statutes say about the offense of which he is charged. It starts thus and has the same punishment as 1st Degree Rape:

"A person is guilty of a sexual offense in the first degree if the person engages in a sexual act...."

and so on.

He has been charged with 1st degree Sexual Offense -- the same as 1st Rape but it covers more than just vaginal -- It could be that they knew she had been vaginally raped by him, but weren't sure they could prove that, possibly due to the damage to her there. The damage could have been more extreme than a mere penis could accomplish -- and that's what I think happened. JMHO.

Sexual Offense, which is his charge, is almost worse, the way it sounds, but the punishment is the same as rape. And if judged extreme, it could be LWOP. So don't fret, wonders, they are socking it to him if the jury finds him guilty of 1st Sexual Offense. No worry there. It's all in my post above, taken from the NC Law Statutes. Oh, yes, he's toast if the jury finds him guilty of this offense.

This man could get sentences of Life & Death, to be served consecutively if the judge pronounces it that way...

How ya like them apples, Jonathan???

I for one wouldn't mind if he got a lifetime of death, he's certainly deserving after what he put that child through.

Let's not forget someone who knew one of the ER nurses where Teghan ended up posted earlier in this thread-

Trying to be very delicate here
She essentially had ONE hole where a female should have two. Whatever had been done to her tore her that badly.

Now let's get real with a "rape" charge.
He put objects in her, whether one of them was his penis or not doesn't make a bit of difference.
This trial....I know we are a society that values justice, but to me this whole trial is just a waste of time and money. He did what he did, no defense in the world is going to save him.

Sorry, just pissed off all over again :steamed:

ETA- Maybe this should be *IMO* because it was knowledge not yet confirmed by MSM or trial records, but I believe some of the testimony we have heard came close to these words.

Yes that was me. I'm not trying to be graphic and I know that MSM won't touch on this. I had 2 friends who worked in the ED the day she was brought in. As I said before,many people in the ED needed counseling because of what they saw. Yes she was "tore up" in her genital areas. I'm sure he did physically rape her but yes he did insert objects in to her also. :banghead: So damn mad that rape isn't a charge in this. Plus I spoke to a court reporter in court last week when I was there and let's just say so much has not been released about this trial. If poor Teghan would have lived she would have been a vegetable

If I was on the jury, I'd be sucking it up as to not give the defense any reason to call a mistrial or other such nonsense.

I am sure they will have nightmares for years. The hospital staff, the jurors and anyone who was forced to witness Teghan's little body.

They are all victims, IMO

I think, IMHO, he IS that stupid.

IOW, if he hadn't run out of Band-Aids, he would never have taken her to the ER. Or something like that.

Maybe he was used to giving [lame] excuses & getting away with whatever he had done, or his parents just didn't care. ??

She read the list while I was in court last week. It mainly consisted of items she needed to take with her while away on training. She did have some food and reading books listed for Teghan.

omgosh you guys.. I cannot even thank the posts of what you are posting here because it is just so sick and terrible! I do want to say thank you for posting what is going on.

I cannot believe he even wanted a trial. Does anyone think that he wants the DP? What else would be the reason? It is so obvious what he did. They must have some mental health guru in their defense case (good luck with that.. not).

THERE IS NO DEFENSE OF THIS.

I don't know the circumstances but was he even offered a plea deal? Of course he could have pleaded guilty anyway but for some reason I had in my mind that the state never offered a deal b/c they wanted to prosecute him and go for the death penalty. Which is the least of what he deserves. I certainly hope there will be some measure of justice for Teghan but nothing mere man can dish out will ever be enough. I can only trust in The Lord for true justice.

I don't think she had bilateral wrist fractures. I think both her radius and ulna(2 seperate bones) in one wrist were both fractured......IIRC

He may well have been drunk or drugged enuff to be stupid enuff to take her to the hospital. That would explain, perhaps, why he took here there. That trip to the hospital has always defied reason in my mind, but "drunk" would help it make sense to me.

Privilege and entitlement. He was used to always getting his way, so he didn't think there was any way the doctors and nurse wouldn't believe him.

I don't know about any deals but he could have pled guilty. He has a lawyer who has ALL the discovery before this even started. He could have changed his plea at any time.. it happens all the time.
