Daylong, graphic testimony from a pediatrician who specializes in child physical and sexual abuse ended with the state showing jurors a video of Teghan Skiba, with her arms outstretched, facing a wall and repeatedly saying, "When I have to pee, I promise I will tell someone."

Jurors also heard the sound of a man on the video that prosecutors say is Jonathan Douglas Richardson yelling for the child to speak up.

The 37-second video, taken at 2:31 a.m. on July 10, 2010, left several jurors visibly shaken and at least one in tears. Some court personnel were crying as well.

The state contends it was the last image of Teghan conscious and alive.

I don't even have words for today's testimony or video. I tried to find out more about grandpa (WC) but there was little except his name on the search warrant with HCs. I find it interesting that he didn't testify. I wonder if he attended the trial?

The most I found out about them was in this old article:

Richardson's grandparents, Wade and Helen Creech, have lived in the Brogden community for decades. Their home on two-lane Old Sanders Road is well kept with cheerful garden ornaments and plantings. The building where Richardson had been staying is one of several tidy outbuildings on the property, which sits between soybean fields about 6 miles southeast of Smithfield.

Dennis Pollock has known the couple for the nearly 20 years he has been pastor of Tee's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church on Brogden Road. The Creeches attend a different church, he said, but he sees them often at a community store where people stop for breakfast biscuits and to catch up with neighbors.

"The only thing I can say is, I have a 4-year-old granddaughter, and if my daughter told me today that she was going to leave her in the Creeches' care, I'd be tickled to death," Pollock said.

"I hear people talk, saying, 'They should have known what was going on in their back yard.' I understand that. But we know people that, their teenagers down the hall were doing terrible things on the computer, and they didn't know about it.

"I know that the Creeches did not know that that child was being abused or they would have done something about it."

Wonder if that pastor still feels that way after the testimony? I wouldn't even leave a hamster in any of the monsters in this cases care much less a child.

I am so angry about this case but there is seemingly nothing we can do at the moment. I live in the area so any advice for what one could do I'd appreciate.

I don't post often but read all the time. Thanks to all of you for taking the time for this precious child. This case has shaken me to the core. Just when I think it can't get worse, it does. Precious precious baby. May he rot in hell for what he has done. With no reprieve, just torture him day after day after day. I've cried for this little girl for days, there are no words, none.

I'm betting they all believe he DID penetrate her, but they can't prove it and they don't need to. There is plenty of other evidence to hang him.

I know. I said I was staying away. I just need to see this through for Teghan.

I know exactly what you mean Flutterby and I'm sending you hugs cuz I can't stay away either and it pains me to the very morrow of my bone's.

Another thing I'd like to bring up is a video I saw the other day where the reporter said I guess according to the defense "it was an accident". Are you flipping kidding me??? Not one person is going to believe it was an "accident" that lasted 10 freaking days. Ughhh! I hate when these idiots think everyone is so stupid.

Welcome, Winter -- This case has been "the worst" for many, many of us here. I hope this horror is by far the worst we'll ever see. But like you, many of us feel that we have to "be here" for little Teghan and her memory, her pain, and then her triumph when she left this world.

And you are right, there simply are no words.

Someone has to bear witness, so here we all are.

:seeya:So again, Welcome, :seeya:Winter, we're glad to have one more caring heart in Teghan's corner.

"This investigation is in no ways over," Bizzell said. "Anybody who was directly or possibly indirectly involved that meets the level of a crime ... we're certainly going to be pursuing them.

"Somebody's got to stand in for the little girl."

Hmmmmm, let's hope Sheriff Bizzell and his LEO's will go after any & all of them. Teghan deserves justice from more than one person, and so do the people of the State of North Carolina.

Someone does indeed need to stand in for that little girl.

IMHO.

:censored:  :censored:

ripped to shreds for this baby girl. That must have been such a tough day for all in court today, jurors, personnel.

It was horrible for those watching from a distance and hearing second hand about today's testimony.

My prayers are with all who have had to witness in person all of the testimony and photographic evidence at trial, and also with all of you who are taking the time to bear witness for Teghan and carry the word of the day's events to those of us who cannot follow or cannot bring ourselves to follow as it happens each day.

Thanks so much. I've been here for a long time, but just read usually. This case has made me want to comment so many times. I am horrified and have felt and imagined every pain she endured. Today the ending with video broke my heart once more. Reading court personnel cried just did me in. How could someone inflict that much damage on a beautiful precious 4 year old. I read all the little ones story, but this one I have to believe God took her little soul and she didn't feel a thing to be able to cope with this horror.

Those poor grandparents that loved this little girl. This is horrendous. How can we get Sheriff Bizzell to charge the creech people? They could have saved Teghans life and chose to not get involved.

I know. It makes me catch my breath every time I read something he did to her. I just want to hold her and tell her that she's loved and 4 year olds are supposed to be out in the sunshine, playing, laughing in July. Not in a shed enduring this kind of pain. This will stay with me and so many others for a long time. The sad thing is while I'm typing this, there's more children being tortured and killed and we will be mourning them in the future.

Personally, the fact that her own mother is culpable in Teghan's demise is giving me the strength to witness this trial. Her story is being told and for that I am grateful. RIP Teghan.

Kids "doing something on the compute down the hall" is in my mind a far cry from what happened here. Grandma actually heard Teghan whimpering along with JR telling her to stay away from the gd door. She should have done something right then and there. Authorities taking Teghan to her own grandparents would have been a lot better than what their turning a blind eye to it accomplished. I swear I'm just physically and emotionally sick over this.

I doubt if the jury will have to deliberate for very long.

I have absolutely no interest in whatever nonsense the defense is going to present in the next two days. I am staying with this for peace and justice for Teghan!

Exactly!! I do, however, catch myself being a little kinder to everyone around me - kids. adult kids, pets, as if in some tiny way it sways the balance of what is just pure evil. Looking for the day that HR is found to be just as accountable in this tragedy! She knew what he was capable of and was not mother of the year herself.
