GUILTY NC - Teghan Skiba, 4, Smithfield, 19 July 2010 #2

I have tried, but can't even get close to, imagining WTH was going on in JR's head. First of all, he spent 10 long days...around 240 hours...14400 minutes...864000 seconds restraining, torturing, brutalizing, biting, raping, beating, and god knows what else, this tiny, innocent, helpless baby. And then he takes her to ER and says she fell off an air mattress? How could he think ANYONE would believe this, much less trained professionals?

Does he WANT to be in prison? He obviously doesn't want to die, because he took it to trial, but he had to know he was going to prison. Had to.

I want to know what his game is. What is his plan? Because, I think he has one. He can't be THAT stupid.

Any thoughts?

I honestly think he has been able to talk his way out of so many things in life, he thought he could come up with a story and they'd believe it!

Yes. I have no idea why the defense would present this testimony unless they are trying to prove that there is a history of mental illness in JR's family…???

I think they're implying #JonathanRichardson's mom might have depression - a mental illness.

I understand that it's their job to mitigate responsibility so as to save him from the death penalty, but I wonder if they believe they have a prayer of succeeding. I guess they only have to reach 1 juror. Maybe they are hoping that 1 juror had a bad childhood and a mom with depression.

I took a break from following this case for a few days after I read that Teghan's right nipple was gone. That just...I just can't even find the words to describe the pain I feel in my heart for her. This case is horrible enough, but that, along with the evidence brought forward after...it just made me cry and I needed a break.

Thank you to the people keeping up with posting the tweets here. It means a lot.

May JR suffer.

I just started reading about another trial of a father who also tortured 5 year old daughter along with stepmonster. I don't know if my heart can take this. I'm sorry for what you endured Teghan Skiba, Talia Williams and all children we don't even know about!

Near the beginning of this thread, I mentioned that in the U.S., there seems to be an epidemic of abuse, torture and murder of innocent, helpless children. However, there is little public awareness of this shameful situation.

I wish someone powerful and in the public spotlight would take on the crusade of putting an end to this evil inflicted on defenseless children.
