I totally agree Flutterby--and don't think that JR deserves any less than the dp but....I think HR should face a lot more in this than the charges allow.

It came out in court that HR never once spoke to her child while she was away. When I am out of town, I speak to my children everyday even to this day and they are all teens....but then again I would have never left my child without confirming that HC was going to be involved and have her # too. WTH, what am I saying, I would have never left my child to live alone in a shed with a 21 male I just met 6 months ago, even if HC was involved.

She also left her in his care after he told her he was really high :seeya:

NC Statutes say that the defendant is not allowed to appear in court in prison garb at his own trial. So, IMO, since the penalty phase is part of the trial, we'll see him prolly in those same light-colored pants and the striped or window-pane check shirt. And that same dayam smirk.

Or will it be a smirk this time? I hope it will be quite painful for him to sit down for hours & hours....

I'd like to see it live, but if the State doesn't want it streamed for the reasons stated above, then I'm okay with that. it is so terribly important that nothing go wrong now. At least we will get to see the sentencing.

Will the press be allowed in as they usually are?

I don't think there is anything the public can do to directly or indirectly influence the jury more than the photos of Teghans bruised and beaten little body have already. Their quick decision yesterday spoke volumes about how they feel about the defendant. A purple ribbon or a picket sign won't change anything. IMHO
