Found Deceased NC - Tristan Blue, 2, Raleigh, 22 Dec 2014 *Arrests*

On the Mother's FB page from 4/20/13 she comments, at least Tristan is home? Wonder if there were custody issues? Then 5/13 she is cutting off family and they are threatening legal action? I wonder if their family knew there were issues with them as parents? This is so sad! Poor Tristan. Rest in peace sweet angel. UGH!

I want to know who last saw this gorgeous face alive, not including his sorry excuses for parents.

Agree 100%. This is what I want to know, too.

I wonder if the boxes the parents put out on the street around Thanksgiving was any indication poor Tristan was murdered around that time?

I am wondering if they have been discussing divorce? Sometimes a wife will put her husbands belongings out front in anger. Makes me wonder if the Dad did this for revenge and out of the urge to hurt his wife.

What a horrible story.

I saw that comment. If you look at the post above it, it sounds like her car broke down or was having issues and she was at an auto repair place, out of town or far from home (from the sounds of it). I think the comment "at least Tristan is home" just meant that at least he wasn't stuck out of town with her and her broken down car. That's what I took from it anyways.

What a horrible story.

Do we know if the dad was his "biological" dad? Or "step" dad?

FWIW- This is NOT me saying negative things or minimizing a "step" parent role. And I ABSOLUTELY HATE using those terms, but with that said, in cases of abuse, a good majority of the time, it is the boyfriend of the mother. Just wondering if that is the case here, but they happened to be married

I just want to give kudos to the Apex Fire Department and their dive team that participated in this search. Apex is a much smaller town than Raleigh and is about 10 miles farther from the lake than Tristan's apartment is. It's dive and water rescue teams are well respected and they deploy to all of Wake County and sometimes beyond. Here's a press release from 2013 that describes the teams and some of their work:

Here's an article about their participation in Hurricane Irene rescues on the coast:

There's a link here to the 911 call audio:

http://centralnc.twcnews.com/conten...f-missing-raleigh-2-year-old-appear-in-court/

I think she called from the apartment manager's office. As the dispatcher comes on she's describing what Tristan was wearing to somebody in the room.

Interestingly, when the dispatcher asks what her emergency is mom first says she was sleeping, then she says the front door was open, then that a package was outside, then says her son is missing.

I tend to think of that kind of structure as alibi-building. IOW, the emergency is a missing child and a truthful person would make that information the priority. Her priority was explaining why she doesn't know what happened. She even makes sure to say that she works over night, thus distancing herself even further from her missing son.

When the dispatcher asks if Tristan had ever walked off before mom wastes yet more time talking about what doors he could or couldn't open in his old apartment. When asked where the package was from mom hums and haws and then goes back to how Tristan would unlock the door when his dad comes home blah blah blah.

Hindsight is 20/20 but I think this call would have set off all our hink alarms regardless.

The embedded video at this link is an absolute must watch.

Parents of Missing Raleigh 2-Year-Old Appear in Court http://shar.es/1Hgg1n via @sharethis

It contains an extended interview with the neighbor (lady in the striped shirt). She goes into more detail about the "almost move" around Thanksgiving.

Twenty or so boxes in the hallway - most of it children's stuff! (I am paraphrasing - unable to transcribe ATM - on my iPhone).

Another WSer mentioned this & I concur: we need confirmation that Tristan was seen alive and well before Christmas Eve. I have serious concerns about what was happening in that apartment since Thanksgiving (at least).

Now it appears that it was Tristan's dad who said he last saw Tristan at 7:45 am on the day he disappeared. I don't want to read too much into the wait time for the Medical Examiner to identify the remains found but yeah, the weird behavior around Thanksgiving could be important.

The ME will be able to determine the approximate time of death so we'll know soon about how long Tristan was in the lake. May his parents rot in jail for the rest of their lives...

WRAL reporting remains have been found in North Raleigh with his photo. No positive ID yet, but the way its reported it seems someone told the PD where to find him.

Fly high Tristan. What can we do to make this stop?

I wish I knew the answer zelmajane.

From your link:

The boys' parents, Steven Daniel Blue and Briana Loriel Dangerfield, were arrested Thursday morning – his father on a charge of murder and his mother on charges of child abuse, accessory after the fact of murder, altering or destroying evidence and failing to notify law enforcement of the death of her son.

How can those chargeS carry ONLY 150 days for BD? IIRC, that's what she's facing? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The 150 days was ONLY for child neglect.
I hope the sentence will be longer now that they have added other charges. :twocents:

And even more curious, this article states:

She appeared in court Friday and was charged with child abuse for leaving Tristan Blue alone all week while she went to work. Authorities say his father, Steven Blue, originally said the boy wandered off on Christmas Eve.

The reporter says the same in the video. Hmm...

Maybe the new charges replace the misdemeanor charge rather than being in addition to? If so then that Thanksgiving period is looking very suspicious. It's hard to tell right now.

I really really really didn't want to follow this one :( I just hope whoever is responsible for not protecting this precious child and keeping safe & happy, rots in jail for the rest of their lives. There is just no excuse for this, ever.

Godspeed little guy. You're in a place that can never be duplicated. I envy you, but I know everyone here will still fight for you the way your "parents" were supposed to.

Thank you for posting the new links. I watched the embedded video. Her bond was raised

(snip)

Briana Dangerfield is now charged with accessory after the fact, altering, stealing and destroying criminal evidence and destroying remains to conceal an unnatural death. Her bond was raised to $1 million.

Unfortunately I didn't see what her potential sentence she is facing. I hope it is significantly higher. Leaving poor Tristan home alone for a WEEK is beyond reprehensible. She doesn't deserve to be called a mother. :cow:

This case makes me upset. I'm certain there are countless families that would have taken this precious child in and given him the loving home he deserved!

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I just have to say it. It's never OK to leave your child home alone for any period of time - or unattended in a car, or what have you. This is common sense, yet we have seen case after case here on WS. How they justify this is beyond me. UGH!

:moo:

My heart is literally aching as we await word from the Medical Examiner. :tears:

Hate to argue over semantics, but did she leave him "for" a week, or left him alone each time she went to work the whole last week.
Please don't think I agree with either, I am just trying to wrap my head around exactly how disgusted I should be.

That 911 call doesn't sit right with me. She sounds way too calm to me. I'd be hysterical if I couldn't find my toddler after 15 minutes.
