Oh no. Maybe he ran away because he got in trouble??
If so, they'll find him.

WBTV's Molly Grantham

#BREAKING (it's after midnight): This 8-year-old is missing in Cleveland County. Tristen Wayne Woodrum. Last seen near 6001 Maple Valley Drive, south of Shelby. Rural area. Last seen wearing a blue t-shirt with black writing, blue jeans and cowboy boots.

Deputies tell our WBTV's Alex Giles they believe there was a 30-minute delay from the time child went missing to the time law enforcement was called.

Call came into authorities Friday night around 7:15pm. A K-9 team and bloodhound team were unsuccessful in tracking him. Reverse 911 calls have gone out to area and a drone with thermal imaging is being used.

Deputies say they believe Tristen got in trouble at school today and was afraid of the discipline he'd face at home so he took off.

They said this is a very active search. Because it is cold they want to find him quick. There is definitely a sense of urgency.

Please call 911 if you've seen him.

Maybe he's not too far from home, at least I hope not. I wonder how far his home was from where he was last seen, or is his home where he was last seen?

Kids that age will pull that- they'll get mad at the parents and run away. Usually come home when they're hungry, tired, and cold. I hope this is the case with Tristen!

I hope that the person who terrifies this poor little boy at home didn’t have a chance to get to him before he ran away. If he really did run away.
