I saw reported that Zahra is 5'1" and 85 lbs. My 8 yo DD is nowhere near that large and I can barely carry her when she is hanging on. I don't think a woman could carry her.

Evening, Thursday (Oct. 7th) - bio dad last saw Zahra.

2:30am (Sat) - Step-mom claims to have checked on Zahra who was sleeping in her bedroom. Dad sleeping.

5:00am (Sat) - Reported brush fire in back yard

Daytime (Sat) - Dad home from work and working in yard. Step-mom screams that Zahra is missing.

2:30pm (Sat) - Reported Zahra missing

I might be able to help a little with the bolded entry. In one of the first articles, it was reported that police said the family looked for Zahra for an hour before reporting her missing. So, that entry is likely in the 1:00-1:30pm range.

I actually carried my son (who was slightly larger) after he got hurt on a skateboard, and I'd had two spinal surgeries. I think the only way I was able to was sheer adrenaline...get to him, get him to the help he needed.

I think when there is a crisis, you find strength you didn't know you had. If stepmom needed to carry Zahra for some reason, I think the panic rush would've given her the strength to do it.

Was just going by the dog scenting standpoint. Not whether or not anyone could or would carry her anywhere. Just how they might not pick up a trail.

When I became a step-mom, my ex paid little attention to my parenting of his kids. In retrospect, I'm really starting to think this may be quite common. Men tend to believe women are natural mothers and caregivers. I do feel that is the way women are usually wired, while men are usually wired to be providers. Unfortunately, we can't generalize. Men who are the primary custody parents need to keep their thumb on the pulse of what is happening with step-moms and their kids. I am not trying to attack step-moms - I was a loving and caring step-mother for years. I'm stating this because of the Kyron Horman case and now this one. Men, please pay attention!

I sure hope you're right. I'm so sick of persons of interest who care more about their own hide than a missing child (even their own).

Yeah, and while I know pit bulls have received a bad rap because of irresponsible ownership, they are definitely owned by some people either as a status symbol of some type or for breeding/fighting.

Put together with stepmom's extremely rough appearance (especially those not-as-recent pics), the dark (in nature, not color) clothes in some pics, her criminal activity...all of it reminds me of something that I can't quite put my finger on. Some culture that just isn't coming to me at the moment. Not biker, not goth...something else.

Anyone get that sort of feeling?

I think it's three years peg. I read that they met on the internet three years ago and that's when he and Zahra came to the US. I'm looking for a link to the news article. A friend of the family provided the media with that info if I recall correctly.

Peg, not sure exactly when they got married but one media source reported that they met each other online... a comment under an article says they have been in the US for three years but that was just a comment. When you read back thru the thread there are links for the articles, etc.

I myself want to know if they got US citizenship when they moved here... not that it makes a difference AT ALL but I am just wondering on their situation (for example, did SM adopt zahra? Did they have to have visas to stay here? etc)
