I hate to pick your brain...but how about search crews, any activity that you can see?

It's hard to see right behind Clark Tire to the house... I drove past it 4 times this morning taking my daughter to her school, coming home, picking her up and coming home again. There was a Channel 9 news van parked in the 127 North (restaurant) parking lot adjacent to Clark Tire. I couldn't see any LE vehicles, but that doesn't mean they werent parked where I couldn't see them driving past on the main road. I only had brief glimpses, but I didn't see any activity.

Our Hickory Daily Record paper isn't the most cutting edge news source, but I hope they will be consistent with posting developments.

I haven't read most of this thread, and I don't know if it was brought up, but I sure hope that brush fire wasn't set to burn her prosthetic leg so it wouldn't be found. I have no idea how flammable or inflammable prosthetics are, but that did occur to me. I sure would like more info on that fire...

This just keeps worse and worse by the moment, poor little girl...
It would depend upon the material used. Some prosthetics have the material to make them appear to be a leg with a foot attached by a metal hinge and others are just like a metal rod with an attached foot. I can't see it being completely destroyed if put in fire.....the metal would remain, imo.

Missing girl's dad: Wife's involvement possible

Hickory, N.C. — A hearing-impaired Hickory girl with a prosthetic leg vanished over the weekend, and her father said Monday it was possible that his wife was involved in the disappearance.

Dang time limit! Said there was a ransom note. No validity to it.

Rotenberry said about six months ago, she noticed that Elise Baker's hand was swollen. "She told me that she was trying to spank Zahra, but hit her on her prosthetic leg," she said. "When Adam asked her about the injury, she said she fell and hurt her hand. She didn't want him to know. She knew he would be mad."

Another former neighbor, Brandy Stapleton, 22, of Lenoir, said that Elise Baker told her the same story about how she injured her hand. "She wasn't the person everyone thought she was."

On Monday, several of Adam Baker's friends stood outside his one-story house just off a busy Hickory street, near the spot where someone had set a fire on Saturday morning. There were a few burned tree limbs and what appeared to be clothing.

Police Chief wants anyone who's seen Zahra in the last MONTH to call them, if I heard correctly as I tuned in.

A guy was posting on the CNN site yesterday claiming to be the stepmom's exhusband. Thought I'd post his comments again as we know now from listening to the ABC video that the dad does indeed have a strong Australian accent:

I know you will probably think Im crazy but I do closely know this family. And Zahra and her father is from Australia. They have no family here what so ever. Elisa Baker is my ex wife and she started an online relationship with Adam Baker bout 3 years ago and they ended up coming over here to the states. I know for a fact that Elisa was very abusive to Zahra. SO SAD! less

Ok tkimball- Darn right I called DSS and So did 3 others that i know of and like always DSS didnt do hardly anything, DSS isnt always the answer. That has bothered me all weekend knowing that I told everything I knew to DSS and they didnt take her. and now look whats happened. So please dont judge me before you just ask me. I have done my part Im trying in every way i can to help. SO THANKS for saying i need to step up

Alleyfaye, Yes, me and Elisa's biological daughter has been talking to the authorities, They just left here I gave them a few pictures of zahra I had. Do you know if theres any way to upload pictures on this site? I would hope you could idk. Also like i said earlier she has a very different accent and i dont understand why that has STILL not been brought up

ank020109
Zahra has the accent and come on Think about it, very different accent, If (i hope and pray) that she is still alive, it could be VERY relevent. If you hear someone with an accent usually you are going to notice that if you dont notice anything else. and personally i think you can NEVER get too much information on something. Every little thing may help. less

Thanks for sharing the transcripts, majikpowshun!

Did you notice the video posted upthread where the neighbors stated that they have never seen Zahra?

I could swear that the 2nd neighbor interviewed had and Australian accent!

.....another strange twist........IMO

Why are crews not searching? The time line is so broad they can't put her in the house in any time frame. They can't put the girl in the house.

Dang time limit! Said there was a ransom note. No validity to it.

Whoa! I tuned in at the tail-end of the "anyone who's seen her in the last month" part. I totally missed that! Can you expand on it once the conference is over? Thank you!

On HLN now...

"We don't have a time frame to put the girl in that house" :(
