What I don't get is, if the dad is involved, why the dad initially said his wife might have something to do with Zahra's disappearance? Wouldn't he be afraid his wife would then turn on him & tell LE about his involvement?

I didn't mean to derail the thread by the Amber Alert questions. I guess I don't understand how drivers in cars on the freeway going 60mph can grab a description of a child from a blinking sign, i.e. you see red camaro pretty easily, but trying to figure out how you would be able to read a description well enough to know if you had seen him/her...
But as I said, it probably is too late for these questions, in this case, from the sound of things...

Neighbors are reporting that they have NEVER seen the girl. Especially since one goes by that house three times a day walking to the store.

The Dad doesn't know if the step-mom is involved or not. :(

PER Channel 9 WSOC-tv reports at 6:01 - 6:03 pm.

That worries me soooooo much. If she was there, how can NO ONE have seen her!

I'm just afraid we are going to find out she has been missing for weeks...

Me too. :( That aspect reminds me of the Kiesha Abrahams case.

I only asked about the Amber Alert as I wondered what they gave out that people should be looking for...I thought I may have missed a car or a description...so in NC, the child can be the description? But where do they issue the alert, then, they can't really use highways I guess...

For sure with a red-alert scroll on all the TV channels, and yeah, the highway alerts, too. And it's statewide when one is issued, as I understand it.

In this case, all the info that was given was Zahra's physical description and clothing. Not sure the alert itself even mentioned the prosthetic leg or hearing aids. Definitely didn't mention her accent, which I thought odd.

I know, and it wasn't just one or two neighbors it was a few. :(

It really irritates me when people so clearly question the intelligence of law enforcement. If Elisa and Adam (moreso Elisa, at this point IMO) really really really really think that their story will go undetected when it looks something like..

1) We last saw our daughter at 2:30am and then around 1pm we couldn't find her, searched 'til 2pm and called the police.

2) We found a ransom note IN our car wanting a million dollars....etc.

3) There was a fire at our house at 5:30 in teh morning (in our SUV AND in our backyard)

4) We haven't taken our daughter out of the house in weeks..so no one has seen her...

No. Sorry, but of COURSE law enforcement is going to suspect you!

This is pure nuts, in my opinion. I just hope and pray by some sort of miracle that Zahra is completely fine.

I think LE hasn't served the dad with warrants because they want him to keep talking & not lawyer up.

I agree. They have this chip so they are only going to use it as a last resort.

It mentioned her prosthetic leg and hearing aids (along with clothing and physical description) but I know it didn't mention her accent. Until today, I didn't even realize she had an accent.

Maybe he knows his wife is involved in whatever happened to Zahra and he helped cover it up? When the threads started coming undone maybe he just decided to cover his own rear end?

No, they still use the highways. I lived in North Carolina briefly, and they have giant screens over most highways (primarily the major one- I-40) that I've seen Amber Alerts on numerous times. I'm not sure if Zahra's case is up on those currently (a local would need to answer that) but I know LE DOES use those highway monitors in most Amber Alert (or Silver Alert) cases.

Yep, they do, Kaylynn. I-40 is the main East/West interstate, and I-85/77/95 are the major North/South interstates. I'm not sure if they appear on state highways, but I imagine there are some freeways in major cities, at least, where they do.

We have those information signs in between exits so if you can't finish reading it on one exit you can finish it at the next one.

**On a separate note, my 5 year old just told me that they practiced a "lock down" drill at school today. She knew all the details of what had to be done in case a "bad person" was in the school. So sad that 5 year olds even have to be exposed this.**

It also could be to shift all responsibility onto her since he wasn't home Friday. Finding "indications of human remains" in both vehicles presents a problem for him, imo, unless both vehicles were at the house even while he was gone. MOO

I can see him being charged as an accessory, or helping to cover up his wifes tracks..but I have a feeling she did whatever she did completely on her own. With that being said, it wouldn't surprise me if he's laying low and playing dumb to avoid any sort of accessory charges that he knows will come along with this.

My sighing has to stop... but *sigh*
