My thoughts on the "ransom note" I think they planted it and called the fire department thinking LE WOULD check on the kid in the house and find her missing then, so they could make it look like they took Zahra by accident. kwim? When LE didnt check on Zahra and instead asked the landlord, I think it went kaput.

I dont understand why the landlord would have been there at that time unless LE had contacted them about the fire, or maybe dad did?

Its late here loves, any of this making sense?

ITA.. but I think the LE went to the landlords house to check on them... I don't think he was at the fire that night.... which foiled the plan all the worse...

I took a look at the town he came from. Population less than 400 people. He worked in a sugar mill. They probably lived w/his parents.

She needed to get him away from his family, so she could fully manipulate him. And, do away with Zahra, so she could have him all to herself. She couldn't cope with sharing him.

Was he that needy that he allowed her to manipulate him. Obviously yes!

We've seen this before...the male spouse allows the step-mother to abuse the child, because to speak up would cause more difficulty for him. i.e. fights between them. No doubt she verbally abused him too.

Nothing. There is one thing that concerns me - if AB is 'cleared' of any wrong doing he will come back here and make money via exclusive interviews. If it's not him, my guess is family members here in Australia will grant interviews for $$$. No matter how decent we may think his family are, you wait, if there's a big fat cheque waved under their nose, they will spill. Makes me sick to be honest that people stoop that low. I also wouldn't be surprised if the bio Mum comes out of the woodwork and tells (sells *ahem*) her 'story'.

The sad thing is all he had to do was ask for help and he would have gotten it.

How many of us here would have donated to help with plane tickets for him and Zahra to fly home after hearing what Zahra went through? If she needed clothes or toys, don't think for a skinny second that his community wouldn't have pitched in to donate hand-me-downs or held a spaghetti feed, etc.

It makes me sick because Zahra deserved to have a 'wish' fulfilled though the Make A Wish Foundation or be selected for the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. A lot of good money will do them when Christmas time rolls around, Zahra's 11th birthday, Halloween, etc. Money will never replace a hug, a smile from those freckled faced cheeks or an "I love you". Not many 'things' keep you warm at night. (I know, I know, I'm preachin' to the choir)

I have been trying to play catch up the last couple of days and finally caught up last night, but have to play catch -up again.

I'm still back in thread 11 but just want to say one thing....People must be skipping lots of posts, pages or threads , probably because it's moving so fast, but you're missing important info and making assumptions based on things you haven't seen by doing this.

As an example, in thread 11 peeps are angrily wondering why Dad never pleaded for his daughter...stating that as fact...but I've seen the video where he did just that!

If we're gonna be lazy and not look at everything and continue to post inaccurate info, then we are no better than the media who are frustrating us by doing the same.

ETA: Link to video of dad pleading for anyone to come forward if they have seen Zahra or his wife and to call police. (towards the end of vid)

This is the video that got me from wanting him to fry, to fence-sitting until we have more accurate info from reliable sources.

Also in the shorter video where peeps are calling him shifty eyed, I am guessing when he keeps looking away and saying "I gotta let these guys in, so we can find.....", he's talking about LE.
Personally, I'd be wanting to get away from the media to help the police in their investigation too. (if that is who he was referring to when saying 'these guys')

Well they weren't that dang poor- they had internet access (she posted on FB) and apparently enough $$ that they awere able to sacrifice a car to cover a very stupid crime.

How is it they said dogs picked up the scent pg blood on the woodchipper and they have found not one speck of forensic evidence? A woodchipper would (sorry for being graphic) broadcast anything put through it and leave a whole lotta forensic evidence, how would they rid the property of that well enough to pass LE scruitiny? I bought a bag of mulch that had a piece of flannel shirt that had been run through it. It bugged the hell out of me and I called the company that produced the mulch about a week later and told them what I found and asked them if they had someone missing. My husband laughed at me fr t but it just really kind of freaked me out, what if somebody was missing and I had some evidence? Crazier things have happened!!!!!

I think it's a good possibility that EB thought she could use Zahra and her medical problems somehow to her benefit, financially and also, the munchausen by proxy has been mentioned. EB seemed to be fixated on recieving attention for cancer and other ailments, maybe Zahra seemed made to order for this?

Watching this again.....interesting that she says that Elisa called her on the Friday night to ask her to drop the charges against her for threatening her daughter, then Zahra is reported missing the next day. Wonder did she want the charges dropped because she had already done something to Zahra and was worried at how that would look, or did the fact she couldn't convince her to drop the charges infuriate Elisa.

Yes this is quite possible ..... but then Zahra didn't fit her profile as she was loving life and not hindered by her disabilities and not looking for sympathy .... so maybe SM got angry because she couldn't use her in that way
