Elisa is being charged with felony obstruction of justice after being interviewed Monday night about the disappearance of Zahra.

Adkins said the AMBER alert has been canceled and the investigation has turned from a missing child to a homicide investigation.

Adkins pleaded with the public to come forward with any information to help solve the case.

No, from what I understand the dad is saying he saw her on Thursday night, but police can't find anyone OUTSIDE the stepmom and dad who have seen her in the past month.

"Shades of another horrific case, it seems" Oh please let there NOT be an ambigious babysitter blamed.

Why would this evil, wicked person include the father's boss and his family in that ransom note? Was it to deflect attention?

Please - oh please - let them find this angel soon.

There house is close to some businesses....and that means dumpsters. And it's been a month!

Wonder if there's a dumpster near the location of the glove with the "red goo".

I guess I should have added an 's' to 'call'. am I thinking correctly that SM made the 911 call about the fire and dad made the call about Z being taken by the imaginary kidnappers?:banghead:

wm...the reason I am thinking sm called the FD is because I recall reading in thread one that dad stated he was asleep when FD showed up. ?????

Missing for a month? So then why was it so 'important' to come up with this elaborate, hair brained scheme like brush fires, ransom notes and vehicles soaked in gasoline NOW? I have to wonder if poor Zahra was in the trunk of the Toyota until sometime over the weekend. Or if she was moved from the yard to the vehicle. Friday maybe? Once the child was disposed of, then they would think they could get away with covering it up, thinking that no one would ever find her body.
Also, I wonder if they're going to start digging up the yard? I certainly would. I hear reports of a mulch pile? I'd be looking under it.

sadly, if step mom was abusing her, bet your bottom dollar she was abusing him as well. It happens too frequently, and she might have told him if he tried to stop it she'd get make sure he got the blame and it stuck.

my prayers are for this little girl. This is just terrible, and the child deserved alot better.

Oh My Lord - not another "haven't seen my daughter for 31 days" case. What is the father's role in all this? Did he know? Was he a participant? I had a thought that maybe he was being "abused" as well. Ya'll know it all ain't just women who are battered and abused by spouses.

God, I am just waiting for another invisnanny to be blamed for this. A MONTH?!?!?! How can no one have not seen her or said anything for A MONTH?!?! This is just tearing me up!

From the search warrant:

Small grass fire was called into Fire Department on 10/09/10 at 5:20AM. Investigator on the scene by 5:30AM. Ransom note was addressed to the Baker's landlord and the kidnapping reference was made against the landlord's daughter....no mention of the Bakers or Zahra. Investigator checked on the landlord and the landlord's daughter so both were ok and left the scene at 6:41AM.

Can't find a source but it was 5am Sunday morning the fire was reported if I remember correctly.

in the video (8 min interview) with the family member... she also says that she filed charges on Adam for trying to run her family off the road with his car.

As for the threats she said that Elesa brandished a TAZER at her and said she was going to kill her whole family and that she knew where they lived.

here is link to pdf/search warrant with all the fire details but in a nutshell it would have been before 0520 on 10/09 (the fire department called LE out for the arson, gas doused car, and ransom note at 0520)

I'm literally sick thinking about this case...

To think of what that poor child went through - fighting cancer twice, losing her leg and hearing in the process, only to be abused and neglected by these two :loser:s who should have instead treated her a princess. Bless her brave little spirit.

While words fail to express my disgust at that thing called Zahra's stepmom, I'm equally angry at her idiot father for putting her in harm's way in the first place. There is nothing more precious than your child, and you don't just turn him or her over to someone you hardly know, especially one who can't even seem to parent their own offspring.
