I have been off the grid all day at a GIS forum... my burning question is this:

WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON?

Y'all have been consuming insane amounts of bandwidth since i caught up this morning. Pleeeease could some kind soul bring me up to speed?

I got that AB got bailed out. Anything else? New searches perhaps?

Todays Recap so far

Prosthetic leg found off Christie Road possibly yesterday

LE and county workers (water/sewer) are at Baker home.

Found something significant in a hole they dug with a piece of equipment. Put that piece if evidence into a paper bag.

They went inside the home and crawlspace with handheld saw. Evidence bags have left that search as well.

AB has been bonded out of jail

4:30 press conference really didnt say much besides that they found a leg much like Zahra's but no "official" confirmation

Could someone please give me a summarization of the developments the last few days? I deeply apologize, I'm recovering from major oral surgery and have been offline in pain for days. I just now got a breaking news alert from NANCY GRACE's site of all places saying her prosthetic leg was found, and from the few posts I skimmed here, they are digging in the yard at the house in hickory? Im so sorry I have fallen behind but I just was not up to anything the last few days. Are there going to be more PC's tonight? Do you think Zahra's body will be found tonight where they are apparently searching now? What other crucial developments have I missed?

* A mattress, apparently Zahra's, which is what LE had been hunting for at the landfill, was indeed discovered, not by LE but by landfill workers
* Z's father Adam was arrested after he had met relatives from Australia - his mother and brother perhaps - at the Charlotte airport; he has since bonded out of jail
* After a period of days when, evidently, the Baker residence was not kept under close surveillance, LE returned there today and dug up the yard, as well as searched a crawlspace and inside the house

Plus other stuff, but those are the highlights I think.

Re: AB bonding out.

I'm not concerned. This was a tough case all around and they're almost there. They're not going to drop the ball this deep in it. There's a reason his bond was set low. They're about to let the other shoe drop, I think. On his head. From a very tall building.


Plus, at this point we don't know if he was remanded right back into custody for something far more serious the second he headed for the door.

Breathe, everyone...breathe.

I agree with you time a billion, if he had been charged with anything in regards to Zahra's disappearance. He was only arrested on the other offenses. MOO

Someone was asking how they knew to search off Christy Road. Not sure if this is relevant but one of EB's former addresses per arrest reports is only about 2 miles away. See Christy Road on the red push pin.
