This is the worst thing I have ever heard of..............

If they put that baby through a woodchipper, it gives new meaning to the word EVIL.
How could ANYBODY do that???

I'm at a loss for words and that rarely happens.

Zahra!!! I'm so sorry love.
Could it be her prostict ( spelled wrong sorry) leg that was put in the worldchipper and not her?

I disagree....
I work with those who have substance abuse issues. Many who are craving a fix would A) Tell what was wanted, whether or not it be true B) Run like hell for fear of being arrested.

I did specify *verifiable* information (i.e. in this case, location of the body). And I was thinking of situations where the suspect/witness is in custody (as in this case) and thus not in a position to run. Investigators certainly can't be handing out drugs on the street, or to people who will be hitting the streets right after being questioned. But in cases like this one, where the suspect isn't going anywhere, I really think it could be a useful tool.

Police are searching a wooded area dozens of miles from where the missing 10-year-old Zahra Baker was last seen.
The scene is down a dead end dirt drive off of the Hartland Road north of Morganton where police spent more than seven hours looking for clues around a wood chipper and in mulch piles.
Alvin Zero Webb lives near the area where authorities are searching and told Channel 9 that deputies visited his home on Monday. "I'm worried. I'm worried if she's ok or not," he said.
Law enforcement sources tell channel 9 Zahra's father, Adam Baker, worked in the tree trimming business and had access to the equipment on the property.
Deputies say cadaver dogs hit on the equipment and the mulch leading to the intensive search Monday.
"They were looking for blood," Webb said.

Not that it will make a difference since this poor child is clearly dead, but he better not be rewarded for taking them to the scene if this is true. OMG

Do you know how long that would take and how depraved that is? It makes my headspin. And I think I am really cynical and hard to shock. I am absolutely ill.

Adam is on her friends list and his profile pic looks like it's from their wedding?

Yeah, I see pictures of him (bad pictures I might say). I'm thinking she is so bizarre, she put where her Aussie husband is from . . . I also read that she called Zahra the dark child online:furious:.

Elisa Baker's bond at $75,000.

Alot of interest in brush pile on Hartland Road. Will be searching within 30 minutes.

Any locals here still? How far is this from either of the last 2 homes that Zahra was living in?

It's possible..especially if it had blood on it.

How in the hell do you put your childs body into a woodchipper? How? If that's what they did...hell just does not seem to be enough.

  • #531
Oh dear god a woodchipper??? :(

Not if cadaver dogs are hitting around there. Unless the prosthetic was on or near her body post-mortem, I suppose. But this doesn't seem like they are just looking for her prosthetic and not the rest of her.

Oh Zahra. You deserved so much love and support.

If the Chief is tearing up and choking back tears. This one is going to be ugly. Very ugly. Thanks for the link Kcsmom, this makes me so sad.

I agree. It took me about the first 30 posts in thread one to figure out this was going to be a homicide case at the hands of her caregivers. My immediate thought was the Aveion Lewis case.

This is so sad. Little Zahra overcame SO much only to most likely lose her life at the hands of those who should have been caring for her. Such a beautiful little girl too....

:furious:

Not good if the dogs hit on the equipment and mulch. Oh my God! That poor child. I am sick.

Going to pick up my sweet daughter from daycare. I'll be hugging her tightly!

I agree - he better NOT be getting off any charges! We want him right there in the US in a US prison.

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but how close is Coffey to the family? Is he just the landlord and boss, or is he more of a family friend? Or do we not even know....

Yes, it's a little odd that we haven't heard more about him, given that the disappearance is alleged to have been from property he owns and rents to the family, that he was named in the ransom note, and that he is at least part of the father's alibi.

This makes me so sick. I have to get going soon going to take my girls to their softball game. I know this case is effecting us all so I am sending hugs. You don't have to know the child to feel the loss of a child hugs hugs

How on earth could you put a body in a wood chipper. I would think that would make such a mess and leave so much evidence. Not to be graphic, but how could you hid the mess that would leave.
