Sorry if this has already been addressed, but how close is Coffey to the family? Is he just the landlord and boss, or is he more of a family friend? Or do we not even know....

As long as police has released the property (crime scene) it shouldn't be a problem to hold the vigil there.

I know that people have been told to stop forming search parties by the police. I wondered if that meant they had a lead or that they just didn't want many people showing up there. I think I will go out tonight anyway...

it says she's from Never, neverland, Queensland Australia - so now she lives in USA?

??? Confused!!!

She set the page up when she went to Australia for some months. This was around the time she married Adam Baker or just before. She was in Australia from about Jun 2008 to Nov 2008.

"The Never-Never" is a term referring to remoter parts of the Australian outback and she may have been referring to this or, as she just loves fairies, she may have been thinking of Peter Pan.

She is an American that went to Oz to met and marry her internet lover from Australia. At the time Adam Baker and his daughter lived in Qld. Still trying to get confirmation on this.

It has been reported in the Australian media this morning that the family did live in Wagga Wagga (pronounced woga woga- aboriginal name) at some stage.

When I drove by earlier....house wasnt taped off or anything.....and didnt appear as if anyone was there. (no cop cars or any cars seen in driveway or near home)

She's a habitual liar. From Australia, brain cancer x 3, writing songs for rock stars, lying to hubby that she fell when she actually injured her hand hitting Zahra (missing and hitting her prosthesis). You can't take a single word she says as the truth. She even tried to fancy up her name with an apostrophe on her myspace page.

The movie Fargo just crossed my mind and I don't want it to go there.

I am guessing it will be a backhoe and they are looking for disturbed soil. Are there any helicopters in the air?

Forgive me if this has already been posted.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/10/12/north.carolina.missing.girl/index.html

If LE are unable to find anyone that has seen Zahra in a month, do you think that whatever happened to her may have happened long before she was first reported missing? Maybe she met some harm weeks ago, and that the plan to "deal" with whatever was done to her was only just set in motion?

I think the answer really depends if they 1.) find decomposing smells from inside the home 2.) a live scent from the girl in/outside of the home 3. hair, fibers, dna etc. of the girl from inside the home etc, etc.

I don't have much faith she made it to the new house, that's my gut though.. . and how I wish it was wrong.

I am sure LE is all over that house collecting samples, or at least I hope they are. It would be literally impossible to remove all the dna of a child from the home they lived in.

I find it very eerily that all of a sudden she is being home schooled, this after she was fitted with hearing aids (IIRC, that happened a few months ago.) So, saying she couldn't hear well in the classroom, that is just phoney baloney.
So, now, question is... why didn't she show up to school on the first day? (That date would be Sept 25th, 2010.. IIRC. The clock would start there for me if I was on LE.)

With all the erroneous reporting yesterday for my own peace of mind I am not going to focus on the farm equipment until it is verified by another source.

I hope you are right, but my mind keeps going to his tree trimming business.

Thank you for your many contributions, Darnudes! Do we know for certain she actually was ever in Australia, or is that just her claim?

I am usually good at going where we need to go following a case...but I don't know that I can go there.

That makes two of us. I think if this one gets much worse I'm going to be sitting under my desk with my hands over my eyes. I can't, absolutely CAN NOT go there.

Ground penetrating radar should be able to penetrate to the capabilities of "farm equipment" - unless it was a backhoe. We have 2 pretty powerful/new tractor & bulldozer and I've never operated them. I just asked bf (without telling him why) if I (woman) would be able to operate both the tractor and bulldozer without instruction - he said easily...so I guess it doesn't point to the father, exactly, but.....=( I also asked if the tractor could dig a hole (verses a backhoe) and he said absolutely.

So,

Crime scenes are released much faster than you would think. I was suprised how long they held the Cummings mobilehome.

My MIL was brutally murdered in her home and they released that crime scene in less than 24 hours (crime unsolved, so don't ask me what I think of that decision, especially since it the home was released back to the prime suspect), but I digress

crime scenes are not locked down for months on end and still available in pristine condition when they get close to trial like it happens in the movie

Maybe she doesn't have easy access to a computer and doesn't have money to hire, say, a private investigator. Maybe she hired a private investigator who was really bad. Maybe she is lying. Who knows? At this point, IMHO, there's just not enough info out about bio mom to speculate.

How about Googling the girl's name like once a year or so? Or asking a friend to do that if she had absolutely no computer access herself? Literally wouldn't cost a penny and would have turned up plenty of info in a matter of seconds. Don't they have public libraries in Australia, with internet-enabled computers?

This Australian media article from just over two years ago names Zahra (first and last name), and gives her age and hometown http://www.townsvillebulletin.com.au/article/2008/09/22/16341_newsphoto.html

Sorry, but I get the feeling the bio mother lost custody of infant Zahra for good reasons, and that there hasn't been much change since then.

nurse, do I have this right, "August 2010: family member states that adam tried to run her off the road with a car". The father tried to run Zahra off the road with a car?

Paulette, I wanted to clarify b/c I don't think Nurse saw your last statement.

The father tried to run a family member off the road NOT ZAHRA.

Also, and with all due respect, the neighborhood has curbside trash pickup so it can't possibly be a private drive/neighborhood. In fact, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals even ruled that driveways aren't private. I certainly understand concern if people are looking in windows. If that's the case, call the police, like Cubby and others have said. I know many Granite Falls police officers and I'm sure they would be more than happy to help. GL.

Actually, this isn't true. Not the CCA ruling, but the comment about the trash pickup. There are roads that are built by neighborhoods or builders that are not "accepted" by an incorporated entity and, therefore, started as and remain private. That means no govt. entity will monitor nor maintain the road. In this case, each property owner is responsible for their own trash disposal. Most decent neighborhoods contract as a group for a private company to handle the disposal.

In addition, there are some "private" roads that are not built to the public standards and, therefore, will never qualify to be taken over by a public entity. The land owner can build a road and keep it private as long as it doesn't violate deed restrictions.

Public roads can never be kept private, except for maybe Area 51. :)

Hope this helps, some. There are lots more details about this and water and electricity acquisition in unincorporated ares.

I am not sure a backhoe or woodchipper have any better of an ending. So disgusting.
