Also, it must be remembered that the Ramseys never were charged with murder...perhaps she thought, "It worked for them!" Just speculating.

Just what I was thinking! I can't wait to find out what was discovered on their computer by LE. I'll bet it's very telling.

yeah, and look at all the sympathy and publicity etc that came, is still coming, from that situation. IF as has been speculated, EB would enjoy being in the certer of that sort of spectacle and who knows, perhaps even the idea of setting up a find Z foundation with donations coming in from all over the world.

Wonder what EB would be doing right now if she hadn't copped to the note. Would she be out pounding the pavement "searching" for Z? Would she be with AB on various daytime talk shows and media "keeping the story alive"? Would she be on the interent weeping and distraught over her missing princess, soliciting money for the cause? We will never know.

just speculating nothing more.

I don't remember reading the answer to this - so if anyone can help - it's greatly appreciated! My question, is what vehicle was parked on the right hand side of the house (facing the front door) that left huge tire gouges in the lawn? Was this part of the "fire" response or something else (ie: missing Monte Carlo)?

I know of the event and the charity donation. I was wondering if audiologists just arrive and then determine that someone is hearing impaired and then fitted with aides at a singular event? It seems there would have to be a lot of audiologists on site with a very large variety of aides available to accomplish this. I would think there would have had to have already been a diagnosis of hearing loss to qualify. Just wondering.

ETA: does anyone have a link to the audiologists who voluteered their services? Also the manufacturers who donated the hearing aids? There is a huge variety, and I am wondering who the audiologist was that saw Zahra.
I am just catching up so forgive me if this was already addressed.... but Zahra's resource room teacher mentioned the event to her and her family and they took advantage of the free services that day at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. I am sure if you contacted Jennifer Moxley, who covered the story and also distinctly remembers zahra, she could provide more details on the exact professionals that were there. Shooting from the hip/guessing I would believe that an event such as this would have a plethera of qualified professionals to fit and distribute the hearing aids.

MOO

I do not know, I did not notice the gouges til the intestive search of the home was taking place this past week so I simply assumed it was from LE hauling the backhoe back there for the backyard / mulch sift.

I've seen that mentioned a few times here, but where in MSM is it reported?

I know that in the 911 call, AB says that he had talked to the boss (obviously before calling 911), but I understood that to be because of the ransom note found while the fire department/police were there earlier. Remember it was reported that they went to check on the Coffey's at that point, etc? In other words, that AB had talked to the boss at THAT time, in the morning, not when he noticed his daughter missing.

ADAM BAKER: Like I said it was it was all addressed to him and it was all taken out on him and.. I guess.. they thought he lived in this house...

DISPATCHER: OK.. ok.. did you talk to your boss about it?

ADAM BAKER: Um... I have just spoken to him and he umm told me to do... and he's going to be here shortly....

If the boss is "going to be here shortly," I took it to mean that AB had just spoken to him, perhaps for the second time, though it does remain somewhat ambiguous.

Morning all.

This morning I looked up M. Killian who is now AB's attn (reported by MSM).

Killian may have a specialty in traffic offenses but I wouldn't dismiss this attn so quickly. JMHO.

Here are a few cases in criminal law that Mr. Killian was reported to have worked:

http://www.gastongazette.com/articles/monday-40076-degree-murder.html

http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-4th-circuit/1113349.html

I didn't search the archives either. He's been an attn since around 1988 IIRC what I read last night.

Another of his websites:
http://www.killianlawnc.com/Publications/CriminalLawNewsletter.aspx

If you use google archives search and use Mr. Killian's middle initial, some of the cases he has represented over the years will pop up.

IMHO I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Mr. Killian as some small time lawyer from Hickory NC who specializes in traffic law. To do so would be egregious IMHO.

This man looks like a fairly solid heavy hitter with murder trials under his belt too. (criminal law)

Now I want to know: was he assigned? (I can't find that he was, help please?) was he retained? or is he working pro-bono at this time?

I'm off to figure out why Dubs is on this. Last thread page 16 Everyoneneedsavoice pointed out a timeline that shows Dubs was assigned to this case prior to EB's first appearance in court.

IMHO http://www.ncids.org/ Mr. Maher wouldn't just send a death penalty qualified attn over to sit in court and have a gander to figure out if this will be a capital case. IMHO someone of less stature would be assigned to have a looksee and then report back. That's troubling me in trying to puzzle that one out.

Still pondering that one. All JMHO. Looks like the preshow of the game could be getting ready to start in my opinion.

All JMHO and ponderings.

The Killian/Dubs team does appear formidable.

Hi everyone! I have been lurking since this case started, and decided to jump in today :)

I see you guys are talking about the ransom note a lot today. Sorry if this has already been discussed but I have always thought that the "red headed pot smoker" was a son of either AB or EB and she added that into the note to further substantiate the "kidnapper" mistaked their family for AB's bosses family.

I could be totally off on this.. just a thought.

Brainstorm! What if EB and AB had assumed that the boss would come over to check it out, and they'd stage finding the note then? Since he didn't come over, they had to quickly adjust their plan at that point?

I just want to make sure we are all on the same page:

The ransom note was discovered by the firemen who responded to the first 911 call:

The ransom note was discovered on the windshield of Baker's car by officers responding to a fire in the Baker's backyard about 5:30 a.m. However, it wasn't until 2 p.m. that Baker called police to report Zahra missing.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/zahra-baker-search-ransom-note-lack-witnesses-strain/story?id=11848643

According to the same link, police checked on Coffey and his family after finding the note, and Coffey apparently owns the property where the Bakers currently reside. (Which is supports their explanation that the "kidnapper" got confused.)

Hi wootsmama, and welcome to WS!

The tracks in the yard are from heavy machinery, probably the day they moved in to search they brought in another heavy machinery right? A Truck tack mark wouldn't look like that. It would be much wider and stuff. Also the ground had to have been wet to make those marks.

This really solidifies my opinion that the B's really wanted the boss to get there before LE--the note said 'no cops', right? I think the plan was to show it to the boss and convince him that it would be dangerous for Zahra to involve the police.

I hada thought! EB never put down "child support" on any papers she filled out for foodstamps or any other aid!!
So how much was this alleged child support that Zaharas mother was paying!!!!

huh!?! Did I miss confirmation that the Baker household received aid in the form of food stamps etc? If that is the case how did we access those forms, aren't those protected by privacy acts?

Sorry for the confusion but I must have really missed that one, and I have tried so hard to keep up on the breaking info.

I thought I read (on HM, I think?) that the payments were put on hold by the OZ child support agency when Zahra left the country? I could be wrong there, trying to multitask as usual lol.

Question?

Last thread I saw that the mention of a grand jury convening on Monday.

Has it been reported that there is a possiblity that Zahra's investigation is ready to be presented?

Is this a regular or special meeting of the Grand Jury?

Thanks in advance.

FWIW, until I can finish researching. At this point in time I'm under the general impression that Dubs may have been provisionally assigned to this case because of the evidence shown to the SA already indicates that there may be a good chance this will be a capital case. Because the State will be prosecuting and because the assumed defendent(s) in this case are known to be indigent, the SA would make a courtesy call to the State Defense.

Why? Because the State has to prosecute and defend the defendent(s) and the state would not want to appear as though the defendent(s) did not have proper representation from the get-go. That's the beauty of our justice system. JMHO.

IMHO at this point in time. Still pondering deeply.
