I think she is being told he is going to be re arrested to make her feel LE is on her side so she coughs up the beans so to speak. The more she talks and writes letters the more she implicates the both of them. Clearly, she is not doing well with incarceration and LE knows she isn't. The letters suggest that. Her innuendos of the crime being horrific that"he" did are very telling. To me it smacks of knowledge of a crime.

Not to nitpic because lord knows I'm incredibly appreciative that you're doing this for us, but the letter wasn't addressed to "Damien". I clearly read in some part of the letter that Damien is a grandchild whom she helped to name. Just want to make sure we're not adding to any confusing, KWIM?

I took it as the person's name she is writing to is Damien and she's relating to him later in the letter that she also has a grandchild with that same middle name......JMO

Is this Damien guy just some <modsnip> she is replying to? I swear, if I weren't too skeered to get pulled into something like this, I would LOVE to draw vampire doodles and write her fan mail just to elicit responses from her to be used against her in a court of law!

After LetterGate, do you think her fancypants lawyers will fire her :) ?

Maybe Damien is a PI? ya never know. Not to start rumors. But it would be smart thinking.
Ok maybe I watch too much TV?

  • #171
If they have not found her, why is there no denial from LE?
My guess is because LE has more important things to do than run around discounting every untrue rumor that is floating around......

I would LOVE to do this.

Okay- now I understand- the murderabelia guy (Gein) is using Damien as an alias? Both letters are to him then. I wonder if she knows who he is and what he does, or if he just posed as Damien, some random guy who wants to be a pen pal?

It does..off in the corner. She's sending a shout out to her grandson, not addressing the author. I just read her own words saying Damien was her grandchild.

Sorry to belabor the point, I'm just trying to make very sure we aren't confusing people.

Good idea, cuz I'm confused! LOL
OK, so then she knew this was going to press.

Thanks for that link! I shuddered reading that they "unearthed" something in the backyard but wouldn't say what -- adding that many pieces of evidence where small enough to go into an envelope. Boy, that sounds what we've been dreading. I remember EB being so nervous about explaining those mulch piles in the back during her 911 fire-in-our-yard call.

I hate to even ask this but in the other cases, don't the Jail folks go through the incoming and outgoing mail?

That "we really didn't kill her" part, coupled with the talk of her getting out of jail (maybe in 3 weeks?!) bugs the living daylights out of me. Does she not equate the situation, as she relates it, as SERIOUS? WTF?!

" Meh, she only died as a result of neglect. And sure I knew hubby did a horrible thing in the disposal of the body, but that's nothin'. See ya in 3 week, Damien! "

That's honestly how it comes off to me.

All MOO

Hmmmm.....that's an interesting thought.....tricking her maybe....

Wouldnt mr. Coffee need to go through a legal eviction to protect himself ? I would assume he would want to do everything 100% legal in this situation and going to the courts asking for a eviction is the safest way to ensure that he can ask for compensation i would think.

FWIW
A residential landlord in North Carolina may not legally evict a tenant from the rented premises unless he/she first obtains an order or "writ of possession" from a court.
Grounds for Eviction:
Non-payment of Rent
Breach of the Lease (i.e. illegal pets, noise, excessive damage or alteration to the premises, illegal activity etc.)
Holding over after the lease term has ended
Desertion of the premises

In my opinion, I'm sure Mr Coffey had no problem getting a judge to sign a "writ of possession" if in fact he did start the eviction process. I know in my state (AZ) that if a tenant leaves behind any personal belongings, the landlord can legally sell it and put the money towards any lost rent and/or damages to the property.

In case anyone would like to read the NC Landlord/tenant act, I've linked it below.
