Although he had 'other' unrelated outstanding warrants, the news outlets had reported LE said the father was cooperating so they weren't going to act on them.
Maybe its a tactic, if they arrest him, he'll lawyer up. He's talking. Look what he just said about his marriage.Time to distance himself.
Hope he keeps it up.

I haven't checked for a few hours... have you posted any readings on your forum about Zahra's case yet?

IMO the step mom (if we have to call her that)

Since police have labelled her a person of interest, arrested her, and publicly disclosed that she confessed to forging the ransom note, I don't think there's any reason we can't use her name here. Or we could use the initials from the name she gave herself on her MySpace page: MGF (Miss Gothic Fairy, for those who've missed the details of her MS antics). I think I just might start doing that!

The glove with red goo was reported to have been found in the yard.

Maybe that inadvertently came back from the equipment location with the mulch?

  • #404
Oh no, I put woodchipper/mulch and fire together and now I'm really sick.
I had to take my stomach pill.
They were trying to burn evidence in tiny pieces................oh my no!

Not to be brutal, but the difference is she's alive and sleeping and you are trying to be careful not to wake her. That's different than carrying a large bulk item that you are not concerned about damaging. Sorry, no better way to try to say it.

They said Zahra was what, 54 lbs? I don't think it would be that terribly difficult, but I carry upwards to 70 lbs all the time at work so I'm conditioned to it. I'm 6' tall and weigh 120 lbs so I'm not a brute by any means.

It can be done people. Adreneline can make a person do unthinkable tasks.

sokay, I am actually making the same point as you are. I am not a physical brute of a woman, but if pressed, I could carry the dead weight of a ten year old girl far enough. That was what I was getting at. It may be dificult but I could get the job done.

True, but something went into the chipper and if parents wanted to be rid of Zahra they could easily have returned her to her mother, who has spent at least teh last five years looking for her. So much easier and less risky than whatever they have indeed done to/with her.

People we suspect of the sort of cruelty involved in disposing of a body in a wood chipper are the same people IMO who would think nothing of chucking a few cats into one. Perhaps the cats were as annoying to SM as Zahra was?

I know, not likely theory, but let me delude myself, if only for a few minutes :(

BBM: Can you explain that please. I guess I missed the discussion of that. Zahra's mother didn't know where she was or that she was living with the dad?

True, but what better excuse for a missing child than an abduction or kidnapping in the middle of the night. Using a woodchipper for a murder or to dispose of a body is just beyond me. There is always going to be evidence left behind. I would imagine they could still get a DNA match.

I would hope so Soul125 (great number by the way... ). Hope.

For the police to be searching and maybe processing that land in the dark with floodlights there must be something of significance found there.

I agree! The same person with the K-9 unit is the same person and dog I saw this afternoon scoping the woods out not too far from the Hickory home. Next thing I knew.....they were in Burke County. Makes one think that some sort of info was given to police this afternoon, maybe from SM or Dad??

Actually that isn't necessarily true, it absolutely possible that God willing neither chipper is related to Zahra- how many fingers are lost to wood chippers? If the dogs can hit on bodies buried for years I would imagine they could hit on something that severed a finger or some other body part. We have been told that decomp begins almost immediately after death- wouldn't a finger no longer attached to a body do the same?

(yeah i know not likely- but possible)

How many fingers are lost to chippers? My guess is they are lost five at a time. Not trying to be cute or funny but that chipper is huge. It would be difficult to lose just a finger if caught in that machine, quite a few people are sucked completely in. (just supporting your post Kalekona, not arguing it :))

Is it possible that all these hits by dogs are not connected to Zahra at all? Sure anything is possible but looking at the larger picture and placing those within the context of what little info we have at this time~ highly improbable JMHO.

They can do field tests to see if blood is human or animal. The proceed accordingly KWIM?

Also, if they do find that this piece of equipment is of interest as part of a crime scene it can be broken down. IIRC, in the other case that was posted backthread where a man disposed of his wife's remains by use of a wood chipper, LE broke that machine down and found evidence that human remains had passed through it.

LE will figure it out one way or another. JMHO.

These people or SM seem like copy cats.........like they read and followed
Caylee (gone a month)
like Haleigh, (taken in the middle of the night)
Oj (glove with red goo found)?
like JPowell, (do not talk to LE..lawyer up)
like Kyron's dad ( marriage was a sham)
I only read about 1 woodchipper murder years ago.
But they did find a few pieces of the lady and her husband
was convicted of her murder! JMOO

Weird ransom note found in strange place.....JonBenet Ramsey

Hey mew!!! :)

Darnudes (and others!!!) have posted some great Auzzie articles based on Zahra's mother and questions you may have, and forgive me but I can't find them right (dinnertime...)

I imagine by the time school started it probably was very evident that she was being abused an they had to come up with something.

Right, I only read in one article (still catching up!) that Social Services was out there once. I mean really?! Family members had reported that Elisa was threatening them, did family members also report the abuse? Did Social Services come out to this recent home, does anyone know?

I just had a rather nasty thought. The only way the blood hit on chippers can not be related to Zahra is if that is what became of the pet kitties that Zahra was not allowed to take with her in the move. Blech. This is terrible to say but I almost hope the remains were animal, not human, as awful as that prospect is it sure beats the other. Might explain mutiple hits on multiple chipper - multiple cats?

ETA does anyone know what did become of Zahra's cats?

It said they were left behind at the old house. Now this is where it gets tricky; dogs wouldn't hit on animal decomp or blood. I have seen it reported that the dogs hit and also that LE found blood. Is it both or which? Cadaver dogs were reported to have hit on both vehicles and blood was found in one vehicle. I've seen both reported about the chippers and mulch piles too.

Exactly, it is hard to take, but the guilty would have to in order to hide the evidence. There is no way you could just put a body in a woodchipper and be done. There would still be the same amount of physical evidence, just chopped up. Sorry to be graphic, but they would have to hide the output somehow.

Not doubting it in the least, but do we know who the taser might have belonged to- who purchased it?

Probably her. I looked into buying them for my daughters and myself. The good ones are expensive and illegal. Good protection for a female though.

A cadaver dog hits on human remains.

BBM: Can you explain that please. I guess I missed the discussion of that. Zahra's mother didn't know where she was or that she was living with the dad?

yes. Zarha's bilogical mother is in Australia, Zahra's country of birth I believe. The mother states she has been looking for Zahra for at least the last five years. NO explanation is given. Perhaps dad has custody and then moved on without telling her, never to be heard from again.

She found out one week ago that Baker had remarried and was residing in NC.

Links are I believe in thread 2 or 3 or AMBER ALERT threads on Zahra's case

I'm suspecting that goo glove is what the dogs hit on the cars with decomp (prolly more clothing as well), as well as the clothing bits in the yard where the fire was. I think that glove was meant to be burned, and maybe it fell out in haste. Or luck. Or divine intervention.

At the risk of sounding even more brutal. Wouldn't really have to carry for great distances what can be pushed, shoved, dragged, foot used to gain momentum as a shove, when we aren't concerned about what it is we are trying to transport.

Add to that the adrenaline and being in saving your own @ss mode-------

Where there is a will there is always a way....

JMHO.
