On Tuesday, June 16, 2009, the writer's blog said: "One thing I have learnt [sic] this week is family doesn't [sic] mean anything.

I went onto her MS page the other day and a malware popped up so I haven't been back. So for anyone who doesn't want to chance getting stuff like that on their computer this is a good article.

This is just a random thought. If he is an Australian citizen, I bet LE are working really hard to get whatever they can out of him. I don't think Australia has the death penalty and it will be interesting to see if they go for the death penalty or Life in prison with him. SM they can sentence her and I will push any button they want me too. I am so conflicted in this case. I live maybe 20-30 miles from where they do now. I am a student studying Criminal Justice and Social Work that I hope to use to work as a Victim's Advocate. I want to be the best at both and never never think I didn't do enough to protect anyone, especially a child. I have 2 stepsons (1 older and 1 younger than my birth children)and I can not imagine being so cruel to child. My youngest stepson's step-dad gets on my last nerve constantly putting him down so I try to spend extra time building him up. Anyway, I am Newbie too but I hope to contribute in the future too. Justice for Zahra!

No, no death penalty in Australia. Whatever he is guilty of though he will be staying right where he is in the US. Speculation here, but say he was charged with Zahra's murder and the death penalty was on the table there is nothing the Oz government could do about it. He would have broken the laws in another country and we would have to abide by the penalty that is metered out.

This is just an observation....

I clicked on SM's mugger and it almost looks like her lips have been tatooed to look like the Queen of Hearts on Alice. Did anyone else notice this? I just thought it looked odd.

Oh gosh I would blow the margins if I tried to do it. :blushing: Perhaps a sleuth who is gifted in posting pics could do it for us.

Just on again. Any developments?

I, too, am curious how her bio mom came to be estranged from her daughter. Perhaps she gave her up in a custody arrangement?

Yeah. No extradiction going on here.

Do not feel bad, I cannot do anything like that at all.........

I agree with this statement! It seems to be a common occurance, also, that one child is the 'scapegoat' of every bad feeling SM had, while the others she had some connection with, were treated well. Are the children on her Myspace page her grands or daughters? If so, where are they?

Dont get me wrong I agree that the people in Giru saying that he couldnt be involved are in total shock and not facing reality......

How many times do we hear "they were so nice, there is no way such and such could have done it, or committ suicide".....

It is true that people dont truly know other people when they are not fully aware of the true circumstances......

I also beleive that the wife "wore the pants" and she committed the crime but I do think that he has covered it up for her...........

Yeah. No extradiction going on here.

Oh absolutely not. Just ask the Bali 9.

It's stupid of me to speculate at this point but if he is guilty I don't want him getting off on a plea bargain to testify against the SM. That would be such an injustice if it played out like that.

This is the most emotinal I've ever been...all she went through in her life, all she survived...to be put through abuse and then through a freaking WOODCHIPPER! I guess the coverup was more important than the life of a child...there is a special place hell reserved for these two!

Those beautiful pics of her just depress me...so happy and full of life...why wasn't that enough? Why did this child become so expendable? No matter how upset I might get at my own stepdaughter, I could NEVER imagine hurting her or wanting to hurt her...I just don't get it...how can God's gift be right in front of you and you just ignore it or don't want it?

And I wanted to say something about the goth stuff, or lifestyle choices in general. It's not the the fact they are goth that gets me. Anybody can be goth. It's what you do with that lifestyle that is important. If you live your life and don't harm anyone else, then great. But if you take that kind of lifestyle, and either twist it to meet your ghoulish needs or aren't really what the lifestyle is (just faking it to get what you want), that is just wrong to me. Any lifestyle can be perverted by manipulative, sick people to help them get what they want or live out some deluded childish fantasy instead of growing up and being an adult. It's not the lifestyle - it's the person behind it and what they are doing with it that is more important here.

I don't think the SM was truly goth. I think she wore it like a costume to make people think she was, or it was some sick fantasy life that she used to be perpetually immature and act at least twenty to thirty years younger than she actually is. I play roleplaying games and play online roleplaying games, but you don't see me not being responsible or acting so immaturely and out of control either. And I have goth friends that would be just pi**** that this SM dares to say she's one of them.

Poor little Zahra...I am just so upset at all the people who failed you...

He described Zahra's mother, Elisa Baker, as a mean woman who could not be trusted.

"I think she's evil. She lied about everything all the time," he said. "She had a short fuse, especially with Zahra, because she was jealous of the time she spent with her father."

Green said Elisa was physically abusive toward her stepdaughter and suspects she's behind Zahra's disappearance. He added that he suspects that Adam Baker may also be involved in the crime.

I must say I am impressed with this Sheriff and his dept. They seem He!! bent on solving this and bringing justice for Zahra.

I am still personally affected by a recent unexpected death of a family member who lived in this area of NC.

To make a long, sad story short, I just wanted to say that on several occassions, we spoke with Hickory Police Chief Tom Adkins, and he showed us the utmost concern, care, compassion and professionalism. He truly was concerned and affected by our tragedy.

Sorry for the O/T...

I admit, I am one of those who, years and years ago, had lost faith in LE - until it was recently restored through our interaction with Hickory Police Chief Tom Adkins.

He will find justice for Zahra !!
