Okay, here is where I read that BB is addicted to painkillers. It's the article that has a link to the radio interview.

Bentley, who was addicted to prescription painkillers, claims she told her mother, Drum, who was supposed to tell DSS about any problems with Zahra's home. But, Drum, who said she knew her daughter was hooked on the drugs, did not believe her daughter's claims of Zahra's home problems.

I can't see that, and I'm sure it's because I haven't posted enough, but geez, I can't even keep up with the threads, much less find time to add anything to them :banghead:

It's just a picture of the dad flipping the bird.

It was never mentioned on the radio show what drugs Brittany was taking.

What if Centerlink was NOT aware that Adam left the country with Zahra and Adam maintained a checking account in Australia so the Centerlink payments could still being deposited? Adam could easliy use an ATM card in the states to access this money.

The immigration department would have notified them and Centrelink would have stopped the payments. When you leave Australia your departure form is filled out and customs check this off against your passport when passing through customs and security checks at the airport. The immigration department then talks to the other departments to stop this sort of thing happening.

Oops - I thought it was. I just started listening to it but haven't finished. It must have been mentioned in an article then. I'll have to try to find it so I can link it and change my previous post. I KNOW I either saw or heard that she was addicted to painkillers.

In the article it states: Bentley, who was addicted to prescription painkillers, claims she told her mother, Drum, who was supposed to tell DSS about any problems with Zahra's home. I didn't hear Brittany state on the radio show that it was prescription pills.

I dont think he was thinking with his brain at all.. His job as Zahra's father is to protect her. Not fall in "love"... I am sooo sick of parents that think they deserve to "have a life" and put their kids in danger just so they dont sleep alone.:banghead:

Your children should always come first but everyone deserves to have their own life and fall in love.

LOL. I can't keep up with them either! I came home from work yesterday and found there were two more threads. I gave up...

Welcome to WS! You'll get the feel of it as you post/read some more.

Now that is good to know that there are a lot of cross checkings regarding Aussie's leaving the country to live in another country. Thank you.

Welcome to Websleuths, Tikki! :blowkiss:

Even I'm having a rough time keeping up with this case! And then when I do learn what is going on, my heart keeps breaking over and over! How I wish one of us would have known what was going on and been able to save her. :(

Off topic but wanted to share in case anyone else has to report child abuse:

I keep a log of each call, I notate the time that I called, the date, who I spoke to and a brief outline of what was said.

I keep that log until I know I'll never need it again. (Usually until we move again).

I also do this when I have to communicate about any problem to anyone. A lesson I learned the hard way and from dealing with the bureaucracy AKA as the military. JMHO

I don't disagree with you that even adults deserve to have a life & fall in love but ....

Once you have a child, that child is your primary responsibility. Sometimes that means you make sacrifices of your own in order to benefit them. I've just seen too many cases where a child has been harmed when the custodial parent re-marries or brings someone new into the household. Sorry ... that doesn't sound right ... people are certainly entitled to have lives & remarry. In the majority of cases it works out fine I'm sure.

It's just these parents who put their own desires & needs before their child's. There ends up being no one to care for & protect the child. It just burns me up.:furious:

(I'm going to sit over here quietly & read awhile now)
