You're a rock star @Niner! I was overwhelmed with Morphew ph and some personal matters. And my real job!

Is there anyone that would like to discuss the no DNA evidence anywhere statement by CTI lawyers and have a civil, friendly, and possible educational (for me) conversation as to HOW this is even remotely possible with the crime scene being in the state it was described? Please lol I can’t find that level of maturity on other SM groups, others just want to argue he’s guilty, regardless. I thought he was too back when it first started to unfold. Now I’m really questioning everything. Day by day I’m questioning more and more. I can’t wrap my head around it. Or how he could have gotten rid of all DNA from all 4 victims if he’s truly guilty. It goes against everything we know for that to even be possible. Or at least everything I thought I knew.
@dgolden - I just posted some new videos from Court TV that are illustrating critical evidence (blood, fibers) by investigators and other witnesses. More incriminating evidence that CI was the assailant.

CI lives in a full size mobile home, appears to have two storage buildings.

@KidonGadol and @Auntie Cipation
This is hugely valuable - I was under the impression of a long caravan which could in theory be towed by a F150 hence the likelihood but not necessity of a tow bar. Now I can see that line of thought is completely pointless. This type of mobile home is absolutely unknown in Oztralia and Nz - which shows as W. CHurchill once said of the US and England - " two countries divided by a common language " KG

1. Well if it is Chad and we don't know that , then being nearly bald is a good start. Being totally rugged up is an even better start in terms of Not leaving DNA. Whoever did it apparently had some heavy black construction gloves so it is hard to get cut and leave DnA behind. That is only really relevant if you have had past convictions where DnA was taken.

As for not taking DNA with you - different ball of wax. As you can see it is highly likely he took out a mix of blood and egg yoke on his shoe soles if not on his trousers and his upper body. This is why it was absolutely critical he get into the company truck that was not his and move away out of camera sight and to put at least 30-40 mtrs between where he got in and where he got out (bloodhounds). More is better. My guess is he had a change of shoes and all his clothes were stripped of f and bundled at Indigo Signs and he had some thin change of clothes with him .

He'd likely have washed his hands by plunging them in a toilet and flushing it before he left RJR. And of course drying them on something he took along. The Boots might contain skin cells so they Had to go with him so they were probably double bagged. It was likely the bagged boots he was carrying when spotted later. I'd guess he might have planted other clothes he had , wrapped in plastic in a dumpster.

If he did a really good survey before he would have been looking out for cameras in the area of Indigo. Clearly he got away with it there as there is no video much of him at Indigo as far as I know. Regardless there will be blind spots. We hear of zero clothing being left behind in the RJR vehicle and he was not carrying a lot of baggage in Memorial so that says he's taken the risk of dumping something along the way.

Even if dumped material has hairs, as long as it has no hair roots or blood from him, she's apples. He's assuming the police won't come looking ever or he will be at the bottom of a very long queue. Notice how Angel from McD's says he seems to be taking a long time to do prep at the F150 before leaving..that is to make ABS sure that nothing in the bag can dribble onto the floor - he may be adding more bagging. He will be changing gloves again and removing his mask and bagging it. I'd say he had polymer impervious car seat covers installed, later these will be ripped out and burned.

Next stop a river and it's cold (not as bad as 50+ years in the penn eating Pepper steak on Saturdays).. he goes up a side road and gets stripped down and soaps up and completely immerses. Then he towels off and that goes to a plastic bag too.. or maybe gets pushed under reeds. Then he drives to wherever -this could be a contract killer from Minnesota for all we know.

Wherever he ends up , everything gets either burned or dropped at night in dumpsters a long way from where he lives. Nothing remains that was in the truck on the day, seat covers - all gone. He might use weak bleach in any area that had some plastic bag sitting on it that definitely destroys blood DnA . To be sure, he might go to a car detailer and get the whole thing internally shampooed and dried (taking it anywhere smelling of strong bleach is a bit of a risk.) . But only a detailer who will take cash payments.

Of course somewhere along the way he can trip up.

Electronics -
as far as cell phones are concerned leave them on the bench at home - don't put in flight mode or pull the LiON cells out.. that's too damned obvious.
If you could leave it in a friend's car so it will be driven about 100's of km away .. that's even better.

Take plenty of cash for petrol and unexpected events. Possibly also take some precharged card taken out in a false name. Don't go near any service station except in dire need. Try to do the whole thing on one tank of gas or if necessary pre position diesel or petrol and spares in some wooded area. And buried and safe and with menomics on how to find the things. Don't forget with modern cars you need more than a simple funnel to get the stuff in. Dummy run EVERYTHING.

This is only from limited reading about how people messed up and got snaffled by the long arm of the LAW . It's not based on experience as a contract killer. Sorry to disappoint.

<modsnip: Quoted post was modsnipped> The LE investigator stated she seemed genuinely surprised when she learned of the affair on April 30, close to a month after her husbands murder. While humans certainly make errors, interrogators go through specific training (and experience) to interpret reactions based on speech and body language so hopefully his judgement was reliable and that’s the first she heard.

Also curious, what response did you receive when you contacted CI’s lawyer?
Brian D Quick the lawyer is going to think I am a real Dufus because I also mentioned the Tow ball possib . as a get out of jail for old CTI. At that stage I had huge reservations about the police's continuity of vehicle tracking and to some extent I still do. There is no particular reason for CTI to have a tow ball given the "mobile home " issue is resolved and he's a chiro.. what does he need a towball for unless he is a contract gardener, owns a power boat ... etc. If he has one great because that's a point of difference over the truck that the police have been tracking but I'm guessing now it is not the case.

Generally police and lawyers (criminal ) will tell you nothing when you contact them. If you hold out on some information and that fact is obvious you might get a bite. I have had a" Thank You !!!" from a prosecutor on one case (G. Cappleman of FL). That's it. But I am not a regular correspondent with the Law , unless I have strong feelings of guilt of my target.

Summary - I doubt if Brian Quick will say anything. KG.

one way of course to force the issue of feedback is to ring the people. With modern calling cards it is not expensive but can be I guess a fruitless task.

at the moment it appears the only link the police have is an F150 type pick up truck vehicle. White. They don't have a number plate because the cctv surveil ex either McDs or a fuel station (that part is unclear to me unless McDs sells fuel in smaller towns of the USA) was too poor. I'll load an image I captured from Court TV which is allegedly the truck the killer used. That association with the crime is based on testimony frm McDonald's cashier.

Now CTI owned a mobile home or caravan which lived in a caravan park about 55 km north of Mandan town. If he needed to move it he need to to have a tow bar on his truck . Have look at this magic truck photo as presented in court . Now his mobile home could be a self powered vehicle he lived in - I don't know. Is there anyone reading this from ND who can take a trip or make some enquiries. ?? I am not sure if the truck that CIT does own has been released back to his family or is still in the police pound. Moreover I have NEVER seen a photo of it. Esp of the rear end.

NB the original image was poor and of course capturing and conversion to JPG has done it no favours. It is clear there is no tow bar nor is there a tow bar fitting.

NB RJR Maintenance of Mandan had a hell of a not of enemies. they did bottom of market rentals for land lords they did Evictions they did maintenance , rent collection.. They apparently created a fair bit of hatred. They had a few ex staff who hated them too. On top of that the boss was having a long term affair and it is NOT clear when his wife found out. <modsnip: No link to support information stated as fact> - case is on going as of April 12th.

KIDON Gadol says - (this is simply a copy over from page 29 of this WS thread - the court reporting.)

KG :: Caution caution Angela Davis ID'd the vehicle as a one and a half door White Util vehicle [commonly called a crew cab vehicle in Oz and NZ.. I can't speak for the UK] as per this - note the details she gives as to the driver having to try the rear and front doors. WE have a MAJOR MAJOR issue with the the police details of the vehicle give on day four of the trial which shows a TWO door WHITE F150 vehicle (no tow bar) exiting a petrol station - presumably being the vehicle being traced north . Unfortunately the Court News Video series is pretty rough in terms of captioning their images from trials. get use to it....
====================================
cont.....

Says she thought he looked 5′ 9”, “kind of tall,” she testifies. Noticed the snow covering the back license plate. Thought it was odd to have snow since it was a 40-degree day. Says it was a Ford F-150, 4-door, “a cab and a half.” Says she knows her vehicles which is why she can be so specific.

angela-davis9.png

Witness Angela Davis
Testifies he was trying to get into the pickup. Tried to get in the passenger side which was locked. Walked to the driver’s side which was locked. Went back to the passenger side, opened the front passenger side and then the back passenger door. Spent about 3-5 minutes before the person got into the pickup and left. Says he was still masked as he drove past her. Says he drove along a frontage road from McDonald’s and then onto Memorial Highway.

Revision to the above.

BTW I have discovered that a F150 in general IS a four door cab.. the latches for the rear door are INSIDE the vehicle so no door handles show on the outside of the vehicle - this is quite confusing if you are not familar with this detail design - which I was not. I looked up a 2008 Ford F150 promotional video and " the scales dropped from mine eyes" . I am not sure how this is legal - it would not be legal in Australia (the truck goes in the drink and potentially kids in the back cannot be got out while the vehicle is floating or later if air is trapped in the car). So the rear door line is right behind the black door latch on the primary door. So I stand corrected. Angela Davis is in fact describing a Crew Cab cabin which has four doors, two of which are concealed.

This video , specific to the 2008 model confirms it -

Rubbish This is incriminating evidence that the person who drove it over from RJR M&Maint was the likely assailant.

If these same bloodstains were on a vehicle registered to and used by CTI it is quite another matter.
I'm not being pedantic - just realistic. This just basically proves that the vehicle seen leaving RJR ended up here. that might seem obvious but where do we see the number plate of this Dodge Ram in the video footage of the early am ?

As yet we don't have the blood DnA or blood types reported as yet. This seems sloppy in the prosecution. If we see the DnA of at least one of the murder victims present it pulls the case together.. .. was there insufficient Dna or did the prosecution get sloppy ?

I think you can be reasonably sure that CTI's blood is not there. (unless he caught a knife swipe and it bled without CTI realising it.)
It would be an epic find if CTI's blood DnA really WAS found there of course. Case over .. of to sentencing.

Talking Ballistics- Here are couple of photos from the Bismark Times

AgentDroskeProjMandan2.jpg ArenzMandanproj.jpg

The first shows a segmented copper bullet. This apparently went through something soft and was recovered - perhaps a gibrock wall. The other bullet /Projectile is very interesting. It too appears to be of solid segmented copper head construction. However on the cylindrical part it is grey as if lead alloy. If you run lead alloy bullets through a semi auto, lead gets shaved off on the feed ramps. Eventually the gun will jam. If you are going out to a mass shooting and you carry a jamming gun - it's not a good look.

Two things are clear - these hit bodies or objects at no more than about 250 m/sec or they would have mushroomed. That suggests a 75mm or less barrel. Secondly the construction of the second projectile is not compatible with a semi auto , auto loader pistol. It looks more like a 357 magnum projectile based on scale of the gentleman's finger. That's a guess.

Note no brass casings were displayed AFAIK . That also suggests a revolver was the murder weapon. One issue is that Counsel B D Quick for CTI says that NOT one of the projectiles could be traced to any weapon that CTI owned (read that as found by police). There is of course the chance that CTI dropped the /a revolver off a bridge or buried it on the way back to Washburn. If he indeed is the shooter.

Off a bridge is better because within six months or so the firing pin and bore will be so destroyed that any ballistic match is impossible.

What about the pistol ?? found stripped in parts in the freezer. My guess is that is a semi auto as it rare and pointless to strip a revolver. Why in the freezer .. any number of reasons. It might be a particularly valuable gun and there might have been thefts in the housing park in recent weeks.. the list goes on an on..Given the type of projectiles found , if the freezer gun is a semi auto it is highly unlikely that this gun is linked to the shooting.

Could CTI buy such a revolver off the record easily in Nth Dakota ? some local will have to tell us that.

Thanks for all the updates. It appears to me watching this morning, CI seems to acting odd, throwing his arms up in the air, glaring at certain witnesses. Also there is no doubt in my mind that it is CI truck.Jmo

Apparently I missed something yesterday as well. Can anyone update me on what was talked about yesterday that happened in CTI’s holding cell that they are wanting to submit as evidence; but is being considered as to not allowed as it is evidence possibly violating his 5th and 6th amendment rights?

Thank you! I am going to start catching up tomorrow. Looking forward to reading and watching.

Welcome to WS @dgolden.

This is another difficult case where I think we need to be patient and hear all of the prosecution's evidence. I've missed a couple of days with the Morphew preliminary hearing so I'm working to catch up now but I just want to say that DNA is not exactly like we see on television.

A couple of weeks ago we learned that Samantha Josephson (South Carolina uber mistake) was viciously stabbed more than 100 times with an odd, multi-use utility tool. Listening to the coroner describe the wounds and looking at the instrument used to inflict the wounds, it was difficult to imagine how her convicted assailant did not puncture himself. Her killer also left no DNA. Fortunately, surveillance video and his digital footprint were sufficient to convict him.

Don't give up! This is a good, civil group here.

Found Deceased - SC - Samantha Josephson, 21, Columbia, 29 March 2019 *Arrest*

Well, to be clear, it's evident that CI is the person who exited RJR, stole the company truck, and drove it from RJR to the sign company lot next door.

So much damning testimony against Chad. He's toast.

It seems irrefutable that his vehicle was at McDonalds at the time of the killing and a week before. Whether CTI was using the vehicle on that day has to be proven . I'd be very interested in what the defense can put up with respect to his electronic devices - because cell phones continuously contact the tower network wherever they are (unless they are switched off , battery is exhausted or they are stuck in a metal too box with a close fitting lit or something of the sort ) .

And for that matter , where is any other physical or electronic witness that he was not in the area at the time. - Petrol purchases, ATM receipts....??
Don't know "why" some of those pictures didn't show up on the timeline for yesterday's hearing. Tried fixing it - but it didn't work....

Here is the critical rust spot set from the trial exhibits. I think the police photograph at bottom is technically fine as a shot but unprofessional as a murder trial exhibit . WHy ? No date and time. 2 a series of shots should have been taken rotating around to the rear so the number plate (US Speak : Tag ) of the truck can be seen. That hammers in the nail that this is vehicle xyz and the the state registration papers link the vehicle to CTI.

In addition before the take down, the police should have taken photos of the white truck as parked by him outside CTI's residence to tie it to him.

Commentary :
an undated photo of a vehicle rust spots when it is sitting on a flat bed in well - Montana ? Two years ago ?? - stranger things have happened. Given this is small town policing in a rural state, I'm not at all surprised but they could to better on the forensics.

CTI must be very glad this is not a death penalty state. Bear in mind we have not seen one piece of direct evidence yet .

I'm not saying he is proved as doing the crime but the weight of evidence is looking massive. I'm betting his cell phone was not on his person most of the morning of 1st April 2019 or his defense would be using it as an alibi.

Hopefully that subject will come up soon at trial .

Notice how there is low snow on the background in the earlier (25th March cctv ) photo and it is gone in the the later photo.. although some of the cars in foreground appear to be positioned identically I don't see that there is any chance that this is photoshop jobbie by a possibly corrupt police department looking to get a conviction in a high profile extreme case.

Day 7 of trial focuses on knife found in Isaak home, photos of injuries | KX NEWS

Aug 12, 2021

Day seven of testimony in the trial of Chad Isaak and we now learned more about the evidence the prosecution believes link Isaak to the crime.

We also learned more about Isaak’s behavior, which some investigators considered unusual.

[..]

We heard about physical injuries Isaak had. We saw photos depicting those injuries the day that Isaak was taken into custody, which was just days after the murders.

We also heard about particular items found inside Isaak’s mobile home that investigators considered extremely odd.

[..]

“Given your training and experience, was it interesting to you that you found a knife in the washing machine?” asked Prosecuting Attorney Karlei Neufeld.
“Yes, it was,” said Bureau of Criminal Investigation Special Agent Matt Hiatt.
“Why?” said Neufeld.
“The knife I located was large, it was around 14 inches long,” said Hiatt.

A knife with a bent tip in the washer, wire saws located in the kitchen, an orange hoodie in the dryer that matched what the suspect was wearing and a chiropractor, investigators say, moved appointments the day of the murders.
