While details remain scarce, all that is known is the mother is currently in custody with the Carrington Police Department. Family members are assisting with the search in Stutsman County.

According to Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser, the mother was last seen in Jamestown about four days ago. Sheriff Kaiser says he is unsure of how long the child has been without the mother.

Shaking my head. Brutal summer for babies so far. Hope this little one is cuddled up somewhere to a loved one.

Mods I’m sorry if this media’s FB isn’t allowed. Sometimes I’m not sure what is considered “real”MSM.

I hope baby is safe with someone good, and that person just hasn't heard that LE are looking for him.

Argh this reminds me of the sad case of the mom that brought her baby into a swamp or something similar during a drug binge and her bf was cheating on her. Forget the names.

UPDATE: Truck located, baby still missing in Stutsman County
From that link:

Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser states that on Monday this week, authorities were notified of a missing woman from Carrington along with her 4 month-old child and a purple pickup.

Kaiser says this morning, a farmer located Justice Lange walking in the rural Woodworth, picked her up and took her to Carrington where he contacted the local police. The location of the vehicle and child was still not known.

From the Valley News link upthread, UPDATE: Mother tells authorities she can't remember when she last saw her baby

“We further searched an area and found some clothing items. Through the investigating and talking with her, she got us to and area with a slough. A bigger slough in the rural area. Some from there we searched the entire slough on the outside perimeter walking in the water with waiters all around that area. Found some more clothing.” Said Kaiser.

Kaiser says Lange told authorities the last time she had seen her son was near a slough in the area where the vehicle was found, but was unsure when that was.

BBM. Ah shoot. I missed this bit. She doesn’t know when she last saw him or exactly where he is? Seriously?

This is screaming drugs to me. My son is almost 23 and I can honestly say I never forgot where he was. Jmo.
What is a slough? Like a ditch?

It’s a swamp, I think. Not good. Agree about the drug thought.
