A disorganized offender acts spontaneously, has a low IQ, poor work habits and lives close to where the crime was committed. I would like to know if Corrie and Scott were friends with any of Scott's acquaintances from his time in prison.

I would like to know the time line of the crime and also the autopsy results. If we had that information, we could understand a lot more about this crime.

Now that's an idea. It would be possible that someone from when Scott was in prison "stopped by" and Scott wasn't there and Corrie was in a vulnerable state. (On the other hand, we haven't heard that she was raped. I think it would be unusual for a stranger to kill someone without having first sexually assaulted them or robbed them.)

I just hope LE is making good progress.

The person that took her home told my husband that she put Corrie to bed and let the dogs out before she left. I don't know where the bedroom is located in their house, however if she put her to bed, I'm assuming she helped her to her room, whether it was down stairs or on the main floor. :)

Did the person that took her home say anything about locking the door as she left? If she did and there is no eveidence of forced entry, that would cut the suspect list down, depending on who had a key. Then again Corrie could have let whoever in. Just another thought.

Sorry the last post got in twice. Don't know what I done but it happened.

Preliminary results of an autopsy indicated that Corrie Wood, a 28-year-old divorced woman who lived with her boyfriend in Grant, died of blows to her head and body, Perkins County Attorney Rick Roberts said in a press release Tuesday.

The word "Preliminary" keeps jumping out at me in this. I wonder why we have not heard anything from the final autopsy at the state lab at Lincoln. Of course on the other hand, we have no information to dispute the first findings either. It appears to still be handled as a homicide.

I thought I read somewhere that they pronounced her dead around 10:30am but she was found right before 10am and I have heard she was found dead. So, this makes zero sense.

Next, MMLEIKAM, if the friend put her to bed this makes me wonder about all the phone calls going out - did she wake up again? OR, maybe she was mad on the way home and kept calling him over and over... and maybe the calls stopped because her friend put her to bed for the night. Then the crime would have occurred most likely in her bed - if those statements are in fact what happend...what do yall think?? She could have easily been slammed into a wall and had the back of her head hit but not shed any blood - she could have had the internal brain bleed or maybe even a clot which can occur on a blunt force basis. Just some thoughts... AND her friend most likely did not think Scott was going to come back to the house because she helped let the dogs out and left. Had she thought Scott would be coming right behind she might not have done that. Just a thought.

As far as I know, from what I've read here and read in articles, the police were called around 10:00 and she was declared dead at 10:32 or something like that. I believe they had to wait for someone to arrive to declare her dead, however I could be wrong.

As for the friend putting her to bed and the phone calls, I'm wondering if maybe Corrie got up after the friend left and made the calls to Scott or whatever. And I think she said she let the dogs out because they'd been inside all day, but I can't remember. I really need to get a hold of her and ask these questions I guess, but I haven't seen her since the murder. Only my husband and mother in law have actually spoken to her and relayed things to me. :(

I have no idea if she locked the door. It's such a small town, we've been known to leave the door unlocked all the time...during the day when we leave the house and sometimes at night (my husband used to forget to lock the door and sometimes he would leave the door wide open). However, with Corrie's murder, we make sure to lock the door all the time now. But what I guess I'm getting at is that it may be possible that with that small town "safe" mentality, she may have left the door unlocked.

MMEli,

Do you know what time the friend left her house or what time they left the bar -- the could REALLY help :)

  • #348
I know one thing...drinking and being angry or in a rage don't mix well. Maybe the person that murdered Corrie didn't mean to kill her but his anger got the best of him and he had been drinking. Regardless of whether he meant to kill her or not it is still called murder

I would guess the object used to beat Corrie was the person's hands or fists. It seems like an object in the house would have split her head or at least cut it so there would have been blood all over the place.

No clue. I think it's been said here or somewhere I read that it was around 12:30. The bars in Nebraska close at 1:00am, but knowing Raul, the owner of the Cactus, he may not have started kicking everyone out until 1:15 or so. I know his clock in the bar runs fast, so at 1:15 Cactus time, it would have been about 1:00. So a lot of it depends on what clock they were looking at.

I have the friend on my MySpace friends list. I think I'll send her a message and see if she is willing to answer some of our questions.

I think we all agree that even if it was an accident, it was still murder and Scott (or whoever) needs to come forward. I don't think anyone thinks the killer deserves to get off for it even if it was an accident. :)

I heard the friend was with her until 2:15 in the A.M. and that her story has changed many times and Scotts is solid as a rock. Makes you wonder why a story would have to change if you didn't do something wrong or know of something wrong. They left the bar but I don't think they went right home. They from what I have heard is they went to a house in Venango and then drove Corrie home. I too wish I knew the time of death this would clear a lot of things and questions up. Is there anyway to find that?????

I've heard that the friends story has changed a few times as well, but I also know what she told my husband and my mother in law the day after it happened, so I'm going to believe that story first and foremost.

As for Scott...who's to say that Scott's story is solid? I've heard a few different versions of his story as well. He told my husband's boss one thing one day and then seemed to "forget" his story and told him something completely different a few days later. So I don't think that really qualifies as a solid story. I'm feeling for the guy, really I am, because I think he's scared because he screwed up big time. But if he were a real man, he'd come forward with what he knows. And he KNOWS something.

The friend has said that she and Corrie went to her house before taking Corrie home. To get or do what, I don't know, but I should have some answers soon if she answers the questions I asked her. The friend lives outside of Venango, towards Brandon and Grant.

How can you say that since both stories have changed you are for one and not the other. I don't think that Scott has even talked to your husbands boss and what he knows I belive is what he says and told LE. The friend that took her home is the one that knows something... They also from what I have been told went somewhere else IN Venango not the friends house. Maybe the friend took her there to clean her up and then took her home????? Just a thought:)

I said I'd heard that her stories have changed...I don't know for a fact if they have or not. The person that told me that her stories have changed is a pretty well known liar in Grant, so I usually just ignore what they say whenever they speak to me.

As for Scott not talking to my husband's boss...how on Earth would you know that unless you are Scott? And regardless, I now doubt you know who I am because I don't have the same last name as my husband and Scott had contracts with my husband's boss, therefore they spoke a lot. My husband's boss took Scott off a job or two because of what had happened.

Anyway is doens't matter who you are or that I know you. All that matters is this crime gets solved. I have figured we both have different opionions but that's ok I think we both just need to let LE handle this and they are the trained ones not us.

I have a question, it's a little suspicious that you keep saying, "I think we both just need to let LE handle this"...why are you so interested in having people stop discussing and just letting LE handle things??? That's a little weird. It is obvious that you beleive in Scott and stand up for him all the time, it's a little strange that you have said many times that you think that this should just be left up to LE...Well let me just say that when a person such as Corrie Jo Wood gets murdered at age 28 and it has been over a month now and no arrests have been made, let me just say that no one is going to keep quiet, we want to know who did this and we will discuss all we want and not just sit and wait for LE to get this figured out!!!

Actually, it SERIOUSLY matters that you know who I am but don't know who you are. Again, it's against the TOS to speculate our real life identities. Makes me wonder if I should be fearful of you.

And not to be snarky, but if you think we need to leave this to LE, then why are you even here? You're not here to assist in figuring out what happened, which is why the rest of us are here.

I can't believe people are still attacking each others posts on this thread :( It is obviously not helping it one single bit.

Has anyone heard anything more about these phone calls? I know Scott had a Viearo phone number and someone was recently fired from Viearo so I wonder if that had anything to do with the leaked phone calls. I'm also wondering if this person that leaked the calls noticed anything about the numbers from the friend and Scott. I know the friend said she talked to Scott but no one has mentioned the phone calls between them when talking about the leaked calls.

I wish she'd hurry up and message me back. I have never anticipated an email like this before! She hasn't logged on since the 24th, so who knows when I'll hear from her. A timeline would be awesome right now.

Something else that is interesting...The same girl who was recently fired from Viaero (the cell phone store in Grant) is also the same "friend" who went in Corrie's house and washed the sheets and threw away the egg crate that was on the mattress...I strongly believe that she is the person who leaked the info about the calls being made the night Corrie was murdered from Corrie's phone to Scott's phone...Just an interesting peice of information...

I haven't heard anymore about the phone calls and the person that was fired from Viaero wasn't the person that gave out the phone calls. Trust me I talked to the person that was fired and that had nothing to do with it. The other person is still employed which I don't think is right since phone call logs where given out. I'm glad I don't belong to that phone company. I'm not saying that we need to stop talking and just let LE do ALL the work i'm just saying they are more trained then we are and most likley have more eveidence and time line then we or the public know. Has the friend ever said if she actually talked to Scott?
