NE NE - Jason Jolkowski -19 - Omaha - 13 Jun 2001 - #4

That blurred out house is weird, same thing happened after i moved out of a rented room in a house. Someone had the house blurred on google maps - it was not that way before that

And that house where the "yard is in such bad shape you can hardly see the house" is literally right across the road from the Jolkowskis, diagonally at the intersection. Wow. I hope the police thoroughly investigated that place. If there was any place he could have disappeared, that one would certainly qualify. Incredibly close, highly secluded from anyone seeing anything

Maybe something as simple as walking by that house and seeing the garbage cans on/close to the road he moved them to the yard and the paranoid homeowner thought he was stealing them, then something tragic occurred
In looking at the google maps, in the earliest one from 2008, there was a much clearer view of the house from the side where Jason may have walked and of its windows. Amazing how much the shrubbery and trees grew over the years, judging by the photos!

The house on the triangle block switched ownership in 2002. The blurred house has had the same owner since 1992.

You'd have to wonder if he met up with someone who snagged tickets at a great price for a game that day?
Better than working for a young guy that likes baseball?
Had a similar thought, but I'm not sure he'd want to go to a game if Nebraska was already booted out. It also kinda seems like he really needed money, even asking his grandmother for some to help his parents, so not sure he'd want to miss a chance to earn a little extra by working his shift. But who knows.

After reading the email, it looks like he really needed money - for various reasons.

My guess is that maybe while on his way to school, he got approached by a neighbor who needed help with the housework and offered him money in exchange. He accepted it because he thought it wouldn't take long and it was an easy way to make some money. But something happened and things went wrong.

In his email, Jason also said he wanted to quit his job but his Dad convinced him to keep working at Fazoli's until his new job started. I wonder if he just wanted a break or if he no longer wanted to be there for other reasons.

I'm getting more and more convinced he went to the baseball game.

I feel so bad that Jason couldn’t continue on with his schooling. I wonder, was there not a plan in place to pay for his college? Rather that be student loans, parents paying, Jason working a summer job to contribute? Was a plan originally in place and then something happened? Could Jason have been willing to do something to earn enough money to pay for his college- I’m thinking fast money here.
Having kids in college right now, I don’t see how not having a way to pay for college is a reasonable thought process. Many schools don’t let you come and go as you please and start, stop, start, etc. Perhaps for a communications degree it’s a bit more loosely goosey.

I then wonder how Jason’s parent felt about his degree choice? Perhaps they didn’t see it as valuable or necessarily and didn’t support him as they would have had he pursued a degree they felt would be more appropriate or useful in the workplace? I’ve also heard they wanted him to pursue something in the religious realm.

I have a friend who wouldn’t pay for his kids college unless it was for a degree that was in demand and payed a living wage. Example: no arts, general studies, liberal arts, etc.

MANY parents won't pay for their child's college. Many simply can't.
Seems he was just at a down spot in the journey and was getting himself going again.
Some people hate the idea of loans, too. So that may not have been an option for him.
Who knows..............
