NE NE - Jason Jolkowski -19 - Omaha - 13 Jun 2001 - #4

The house on the triangle block switched ownership in 2002. The blurred house has had the same owner since 1992.

You'd have to wonder if he met up with someone who snagged tickets at a great price for a game that day?
Better than working for a young guy that likes baseball?
Had a similar thought, but I'm not sure he'd want to go to a game if Nebraska was already booted out. It also kinda seems like he really needed money, even asking his grandmother for some to help his parents, so not sure he'd want to miss a chance to earn a little extra by working his shift. But who knows.

After reading the email, it looks like he really needed money - for various reasons.

My guess is that maybe while on his way to school, he got approached by a neighbor who needed help with the housework and offered him money in exchange. He accepted it because he thought it wouldn't take long and it was an easy way to make some money. But something happened and things went wrong.

In his email, Jason also said he wanted to quit his job but his Dad convinced him to keep working at Fazoli's until his new job started. I wonder if he just wanted a break or if he no longer wanted to be there for other reasons.

I'm getting more and more convinced he went to the baseball game.

I feel so bad that Jason couldn’t continue on with his schooling. I wonder, was there not a plan in place to pay for his college? Rather that be student loans, parents paying, Jason working a summer job to contribute? Was a plan originally in place and then something happened? Could Jason have been willing to do something to earn enough money to pay for his college- I’m thinking fast money here.
Having kids in college right now, I don’t see how not having a way to pay for college is a reasonable thought process. Many schools don’t let you come and go as you please and start, stop, start, etc. Perhaps for a communications degree it’s a bit more loosely goosey.

I then wonder how Jason’s parent felt about his degree choice? Perhaps they didn’t see it as valuable or necessarily and didn’t support him as they would have had he pursued a degree they felt would be more appropriate or useful in the workplace? I’ve also heard they wanted him to pursue something in the religious realm.

I have a friend who wouldn’t pay for his kids college unless it was for a degree that was in demand and payed a living wage. Example: no arts, general studies, liberal arts, etc.

MANY parents won't pay for their child's college. Many simply can't.
Seems he was just at a down spot in the journey and was getting himself going again.
Some people hate the idea of loans, too. So that may not have been an option for him.
Who knows..............

Has anyone looked into the former sex-offender that was murdered in 2020? During the time of Jason's disappearance, he lived only 3 miles away from Jason. He moved to Colorado a month after Jason went missing, then moved a block away from Jason's home in 2012, until his murder in 2020.

I would state his name as he is deceased, but I am unsure about the rules. His case was publicized so it's easy to find.

his victims were children though- a 5 year old boy and 13 year old girl. It’s quite a jump to then go after a 20 year old man.

I agree, although those are the victims we know of. There is effectively zero information on this case, so I thought it was worth mentioning. His moving pattern and location to Jason is bizarre/coincidental at the very least.

Some offenders will simply go after anyone they think they can get away with harming. There have been offenders with both child and adult victims.

Though anyone going after a 20-year-old male in daylight isn't as common...yet doesn't it seem that someone probably did in this case?

ETA: Actually Jason was 19; could he have been mistaken for a teenager?
I would guess LE has looked into this particular offender, but then again, what could they really have done about the possibility?

I found the "creepy" house mentioned in the youtube post i referenced before, he made another comment identifying it. Its the light blue house at the intersection of N 49th ave and Sigwart Ave. Front door is only a few steps from the sidewalk. The comment said the family that still lives there, looks "inbred" and always creeped him out. The windows aren't boarded up on google maps but they could have been in 2001

Another person on another youtube video said a reddit user posted that 2 years after Jasons disappearence he was in the same general area and someone drove by and asked him a crazy number of times if he needed a ride, he turned them down.

Hey folks,

Websleuths is fact based and requires that if you state something as fact, it must be accompanied by a link to an approved source (i.e. MSM, LE, scholarly article).

What you heard elsewhere, read elsewhere, can't find right now, think you might have seen, etc etc are NOT sources.

When members don't put proper links in their posts, that post and ALL responses emanating from it get removed. It doesn't help the discussion and is not fair to other members who have taken the time to respond and it's not fair to expect other members, and Websleuths Mods and Admins to all be rummaging around trying to locate whatever it is you're talking about.
