HA! Garcia's attys must be delusional. The evidence is circumstantial yes, but thinly veiled? I think not!!! The evidence thus far seems pretty sound to me.

This article I just posted in the media only thread, explains how Garcia got a medical license to practice in Illinois, while all others were turning him down. It appears he applied prior to resigning at another state, lied by omission, and voila! I guess they don't do any follow-up in that state.

Interesting: he failed his first attempt at both USMLE Step 1 and 2- that is very telling as well.

They must not follow up in NC either, fran. I read that he got the job at the Indiana prison thru a private contracting company based out of NC. I'll see if I can locate that link.

There is a photo of Garcia on an Indiana license application from 2008 in the video you posted. He was slimmer then and looks alot more like the composite sketch than he does now that he is heavy. It's around the 2:04 mark. I also noticed on his IL license he was licensed as a doctor and surgeon. I guess that explains his preferred method of killing is using knives. We all theorized a long time ago that whoever killed Tom and Shirlee was skilled with knives.

This dudes tentacles seem to reach all over the country. Thank goodness he was finally arrested!

Don't read too much into the "surgeon" part - historically, many medical degrees and licenses are referred to as being in "medicine and surgery". This guy had no specific surgical background or training. BUT a pathology resident most certainly would have developed a skill with knives, and would know precisely where to cut to get the result he wanted.

I think the circumstantial evidence is damning for AG. It's not coincidence that he searched addresses for Dr. Brumback and Dr. Bewtra the day before the Brumbacks were murdered and Bewtra's house was broken into and he was seen on the surveilance at that store buying beer and he ate wings at a restaurant not far from Bewtra's home, no matter how the defense tries to spin it! He must have worn latex gloves after entering the homes since there is no DNA at either murder scene but there was some at Bewtra's door which cannot rule him out. I'd bet that those gloves were flushed at the Hunter/Brumback homes! It's not like he could risk walking back to his car in an affluent neighborhood with blood on his hands. That's why he wore black to stab Tom and Shirlee to death. IMO, this theory shows premeditated murder.

Anyone recall way back in thread #1 on this case, there was speculation that the plate on the CRV seen by witnesses may have been from New Mexico? We do not yet know a lot about Garcia but I was told back when first hearing of him that he is from there originally.

Almost everything related to the State of NM (official agencies) have had the Zia sun symbol on them for years. I don't recall any mention of NM in thread #1, but that doesn't mean jack. Wonder if the witnesses who saw the vehicle recalled a Zia symbol? This could have been something LE held back. Maybe the plates will end up just being stolen.
I'm looking forward to reading about the details that emerge from these cases.

waltzingmatilda, I've always had difficulty recognizing a person/suspect from many of the pencil sketches of the past.

We were discussing forensic artists and sketches on the Israel Keyes thread a couple days ago. Due to software and other technology advancements, 3D sketches of today are much more like color photos than the pencil sketches of the past. This technology has been available to LE for almost a decade now and was originally used by the FBI.

"I am so happy. I hate to say that because I have had a nice time and I have enjoyed it but it's time to go," said Lawson.

Friday is her last day, but the GBI won't be without a Lawson for long. Kelly Lawson, who is Marla Lawson's daughter, will be taking over for the legend.

"It does put a lot of pressure on me, but I'm ready to take on the challenge and excited about it," said Kelly Lawson.

Hi everyone! Thank goodness Dr. Bewtra was not home that day. AG is a dangerous man, no doubt she was on his hit list. It amazes me that a person can harbor resentment and a grudge for so long like Garcia did. It was seven years from his firing until Tom and Shirlee were killed, then 5 years later he kills the Brumbacks and breaks into Bewtra's home. That's a long time to carry hatred but hate and alcohol are not a good combination. It's still difficult for me to wrap my mind around it though.

Garcia must have lost some of the Alcohol bloat while in jail....the photo of AG doing the perp walk in Snick's link looks so much like the composite sketch from 2008.

OT I've been away in another state for a few months caring for gravely ill family members. Glad to see you all are still here!
