Ugh tonight's Plattsmouth temps from Accuweather:

Sure hate that she left with no shoes and no coat. Unless someone picked her up, how far could she have actually gone with these temperatures before becoming hypothermic? I hope they're also checking every vehicle parked in the area she went missing in just in case she climbed in one.

It doesn't give an exact address - just 300 block of 5th street - so my map is inexact, but you don't think she could have made it to the river do you?

This is what I was afraid of from the way the PD update was worded -- Patricia was found deceased. When they don't say "found safe" I always worry.

68-year-old woman who was reported missing from Plattsmouth was found dead.

Patricia Lanam, who had dementia, was last seen late Friday night. The Nebraska State Patrol later issued a missing, endangered advisory.

Plattsmouth police announced Sunday evening on Facebook that the 68-year-old was "located."

The Nebraska State Patrol said Monday that Lanam had died, with no word of where she was found.

<snipped to focus on this>

The article above is now updated to show this info (BBM):

"The Nebraska State Patrol said Monday that Lanam had died. According to Plattsmouth police, Lanam was found deceased in the backyard of a residence in the city.

Plattsmouth police said Lanam's death was from a medical condition, as well was being outside in "extreme cold temperatures at the time of her disappearance."

RIP Patricia. I hope the end was easy for her - I'd like to hope that she just laid down and went to sleep with no pain or worries.

I'm sure this wasn't how her friends and family wanted it to end, but at least now they can lay her to rest.
