Judging is a good thing. I do it all the time.
Just an aside: I also judge people who look the other way/don’t report abuse and neglect. (eg: those who were aware PF was plotting the murder of KB). I judge and try to carefully weigh evidence every time I comment on various WS cases.

And I’m perfectly okay for people judging me for judging.

But I’m going to get off this thread. See you all around. There will be other cases to discuss.

That sounds fine. The problem is the money, and the drugs. I used to work with young women who were "exotic dancers", who were incarcerated for illegal drug use and dealing. I tried to rehabilitate these girls, and they laughed at me. They were making so much cash under the table, that working a job at $9.00 an hour was a joke to them.

For whatever reason, these young women self medicate with illegal drugs. If they don't stop "exotic dancing", they will never get clean. It is a never ending cycle.

A few did participate in rehabilitation, usually the ones with children in CPS custody.

They self medicate because most have been abused somehow as children. They self medicate because that is the only way they can deal with what they are doing.

Anyone who thinks having to do sex with some pukey, stinky, self absorbed man is a fine time needs to think about it more

Seen lots on Dr. Phil & other shows that like what their doing. Probably not the pukey stinky part. Self absorbed might be okay.

I have to say, how much I hate, loathe, and despise the movie,
"Pretty Woman". I don't even understand why anyone likes this movie about a rich man and a prostitute. It is demeaning to women, INMO. And not even close to true in any way, shape, or form.

I hesitate to say it. It's my wifes fav.

That is okay. I wish I could really figure out why people like this movie. Obviously a lot of people love it.

My wife doesn't see Richard Gere as a ruthless businessman & Julia Roberts as a hooker. It's make believe and a beautiful love story.

While I agree with the feeling of disgust for Kraft and the others involved in trafficking let's not start name calling, please? Thank you,
Tricia

I have worked with quite a few women in the sex trade industry. Every one of them have had childhood trauma, most cases it was sexual abuse. All of them used drugs while performing their trade. Some do believe that they really like their job. One case comes to mind in particular. She was a high end call girl and charged $400/hour. I add this info because one of her biggest objections to walking way from the work was the money. She would work one week a month and pull in big bucks. She had graduated from one of the most prestigious acting schools in NYC and treated her work as acting and she was obviously damn good at it. She had no desire to quit the work when I met her. It took a long time to get underneath all of the masks and layers she had built to protect her inner self. Today, she would tell you that she is sickened that she ever thought she actually liked doing the work. She now also admits that there was no way she could have done the work without heavily using drugs. And at times she also used disassociation to cope with the men who had her do really demeaning things. She shared that in her experience the richer the man, the more demeaning she was treated. She went without a boyfriend for the whole time she practiced. She thought it was because she was too busy living the high life. But now she would tell you it was because she felt absolutely awful about herself and she began to believe that she truly deserved to be treated poorly. She would also tell you that she does not believe anyone woman or girl in the trade truly enjoys it or feels good about herself. Some of them fake it like narcissists fake how awesome they think they are.

I totally agree with this.

I have read that the men do things such as abuse them using a bottle.

It is not Pretty Woman.

This client has permanent scars from a john putting his cigarettes out on her flesh. He paid extra to do it, it was the only way he could get off

Yes, things like that. I cannot remember all of the things I read about years ago when there was an organization that was working to educate people on the reality of prostituiton. It was called STOP.

The Cinderella story.

I suppose those of us who have actually worked with men and women who have been victimized by men who pay for sex see the story completely differently.

This kind of Cinderella story only works in the movies

‘The Monsters Are the Men’: Inside a Thriving Sex Trafficking Trade in Florida
"Beyond the connection to figures like Robert Kraft lies the wretched story of women who police believe were trapped as trafficking victims and forced to work in alarming conditions"

ETA: quote from the sheriff:
“I would never consider them prostitutes — it was really a rescue operation,” the sheriff said, training his anger at the men whose demand for sex kept the massage parlors in business. “The monsters are the men,” he added.

I accept what you all are saying. From a mans perspective I think many men would envy a man that could be paid for having sex. More so if he could choose his own clients. I cant see why this couldn't be true for some women. jmo

Officials say Kraft was driven to the spa by a chauffeur ... and say they have video of the Pats owner "that shows the act that took place" with him inside of the spa.

The average cost per visit for services was $59 for half an hour and $79 per hour, according to police.

The investigation took roughly 8 months and officials say they've identified more than 100 men suspected of being "Johns."

Wow. I pay more for nails and a pedicure. Even a McDs employee could afford those rates.
