I assumed the friend of Sydney would be in Lincoln not Wilbur. BB picked up Sydney and brought her back on first date then did the same on second date but drops her at a friends. Didn't Sydney need to get home for the cat and work? And why did her phone not leave Wilbur if she did?
LE said Sydney was last seen in Wilbur.

AT and BB did not dispute this in their videos, in fact AT stated that they were actually the people who provided this info.

Therefore if there were a "friend", he/she would have to reside in Wilbur to fit with their story.

Are they in the back seat of the car?

In first video bailey says on second date she took Sydney back to trails house to smoke wax and shatter, that is the last time sydneys phone pinged.

How do you know that was the last time her phone pinged? Did LE disclosed that? Do we have a timeline of her phone activities?

Unless they mean they dropped her at a friend of their's in Wilbur, because Sydney's family have said she doesn't know anyone in Wilbur, I thought. Would BB have driven after smoking all day anyway? Perhaps someone other than BB took Sydney home? They really will need to be specific about this - why has it taken two weeks and it is still not known where she was dropped off by them?

In the second video that was released in the wee hours of this morning AT stated that BB would not know who the friend was because she had only just met Sydney. In both videos AT claims that BB brought Sydney to Wilber on the second date and then while taking Sydney home Sydney wanted to be taken to a friend of hers instead. That much is consistent. It is another matter entirely as to how true any of what AT had to say is.

Because they are lying, I'd imagine.

Yes, LPD said it last pinged in Wilbur - see very first post in the thread.

They said it pinged in Wilbur but not when or whereabouts. We don't technically know this was at ATs house and not the (made up) friend's house.

So what do LE do about it?
I'd say they are going to split them up and hope they turn, keep searching in the hope of finding new evidence -even if they don't turn on each other they may well spill more than they mean to in terms of where they have been since and this in turn could lead to new evidence, or hope someone calls in a decent tip. I really don't know. :(

Thanks I just rechecked that info, I thought she was last seen in Wilber that's why the police knew where to look.

Sydney Loofe disappearance: Father pleads for help in search as investigators try to question 'persons of interest'
 • Nov 30, 2017 Updated 56 min ago

Sydney Loofe’s father gave an impassioned plea for help finding her Thursday, moments after law enforcement apprehended two people they described as persons of interest in her disappearance.

"In my opinion, someone knows something," George Loofe told reporters during a news conference at the Hall of Justice in Lincoln. "Please do the right thing."

Sydney Loofe, 24, has been missing for two weeks. The FBI has set up a dedicated tip line specifically for information related to her case: 402-493-8688, option 1.

Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister answered quickly when asked if there is still hope she could be found alive.

“Yes," the chief said. "Absolutely."

The persons of interest, Aubrey Trail and Bailey Boswell, were in custody "somewhere in the Midwest" outside Lincoln, said Randy Thysse, special agent in charge of the FBI field office in Omaha. He declined to provide more detail.

He said the FBI still is seeking information from the public on Loofe's whereabouts and the investigation, describing the search as "a very fluid situation."

Trail and Boswell were arrested on warrants unrelated to Loofe's disappearance, Bliemeister said.

The two did not turn themselves in to law enforcement, the chief told the Journal Star later in the day, despite Trail saying in a video posted on social media overnight that they had "pretty much decided" to come forward.

Bliemeister declined to say whether the videos helped law enforcement track down the pair.

He said investigators have received written correspondence which they believe was authored by Boswell, and that they are analyzing it and comparing it with other statements she made over the phone to a Lincoln investigator.

Investigators from Lincoln, the Saline County Sheriff's Office and the FBI arrived at Trail and Boswell's location around 2 p.m. Thursday hoping to learn whether the two could provide additional information to aid in the search for Loofe, Bliemeister said.

Bliemeister said local and federal law enforcement have been "working diligently" to find Sydney Loofe since her mom reported her missing Nov. 16, after she missed work at Menards in north Lincoln. Police have said Loofe was last seen in Wilber the night of Nov. 15.

Searches in the Wilber and Clatonia areas this week did not turn up any new evidence that could lead to where Loofe might be, Bliemeister said. He said a rumor that Loofe's cellphone was found buried in a yard near where Trail and Boswell lived is "not true.”

Wilber firefighters, Saline County sheriff's deputies and others check a pond near Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools on Wednesday as the search for Sydney Loofe continued.

Police publicly identified Trail and Boswell as persons of interest in the case earlier this week. Since then, the pair have posted at least three videos on social media denying any role in Loofe's disappearance.

In a 10-minute video posted overnight Wednesday, Trail dismissed several theories that circulated on social media after Trail, 51, and Boswell, 23, were named by police.

"Not saying I'm a nice guy. I'm a crook, I'm a thief -- have been all my life. OK? But I'm not what you're trying to make me out to be,” he said.

Later Thursday, Boswell was being held on a misdemeanor warrant for missing a court date last year in Lincoln, where she was accused of possessing less than 1 ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. And Trail was being held on a newly filed case in Saline County, where he is accused of being a habitual criminal and a felon in possession of a firearm.

Prosecutors asked to file the affidavit for Trail's arrest warrant under seal "due to the sensitive nature of these matters and the likelihood that individuals who are key witnesses or additional participants in this matter may flee the state of Nebraska if this matter is disclosed."

Even now that investigators have located the pair, Thysse said law enforcement officials are seeking any and all information about where Sydney Loofe could be.

"We're all committed and we are applying all of our resources to help bring Sydney home,” he said.

There was no word late Thursday as to whether they were cooperating.

Investigators also were evaluating digital information they continue to receive from telecommunication providers, Bliemeister said. They intend to use that information, along with whatever can be gleaned from interviews with Trail and Boswell, to direct future search efforts."The primary focus is on finding Sydney," the chief said.
In Neligh, where George Loofe is a high school principal and his wife, Susie, is a resource teacher, community members rallied around the family, selling buttons and planning to wear green at a Neligh-Oakdale and Ewing basketball game Thursday night to raise awareness about the case.

LE said the phone last pinged in the 600 block of 7th street in Wilber. When I Google Earthed it, guess whose house it dropped me in front of? The last home listed as AT's residence in Wilber which happens to be .25 miles driving distance, literally right around the corner from the pond they searched. I have not seen an address yet for BB but unless her house turns out to be by AT's and the high school, the last ping didn't have anything to do with Sydney being at BB's. So again, if BB took Sydney home, how did Sydney's phone last ping basically at AT's old home? I found a news article with a photo of AT's home. When I Google Earthed 7th street, it had been trolled or whatever by the Google Earth car, meaning I could drop to street view and look around in 3D or 2.5 or whatever it is. When I turned around, bam, there was the house.
I linked the site with the photo and asked if I could use the nfo to make and post a Google map overhead photo but no one ever responded.

“I'm a crook. I'm a thief. Have been all my life, OK. But I'm not what you're trying to make me out to be,” Aubrey Trail, a person of interest in the case, said in the video.

The two said they'd “pretty much decided to turn themselves in because they’d pretty much already been convicted anyway” Trail said.

“If I’m a thief I’m a thief but I’ll be (expletive) I’ve never killed anyone in my life. I’ve never hurt a female in my life,” Trail said.

"I guess we’re going to be turning ourselves in because we’ve basically been convicted already. Guess we could keep running but that might look bad for you,” Aubrey Trail said.

The chief of police said there is “absolutely” still hope Sydney is alive.

The FBI has set up a special tip line just for Sydney's case. That's number is 402–493–8688, and select option one.

Chief Bliemeister said that an officer did speak on the phone with Boswell and Trail prior to their names being released as persons of interest. This comes after Trail said in a video that they had tried to call police multiple times, and were told to stop calling.

What are the common elements that link Boswell and Trail? Greed and sex, one or both of these is the motive in my opinion. My theory is that either they were setting up Sydney for a robbery and planned to get rid of her along, or they were planning to lure her into a threesome or something with Trail but she resisted or fought, and she met with an unfortunate end so she couldn’t talk about what happened.

Do we know if Sydney had any money or assets that they might’ve thought that she had, like any clues that she posted on Facebook? Even if she was looking to buy weed with a couple hundred dollars, people have been killed for a lot less.

I just don’t give these two that much credit - they don’t seem very bright. One of them will turn and crack, they can’t seem to help themselves from talking.

I'm pretty sure this mystery friend would have come forward by now to LE.
If it was truly Sydney's friend, I would think he/she would be upset and helping in any way possible.
Maybe not, but chances are they would, right?

The Wilber residence apparently is an old residence of Trail's. Here is my sleuthing. If any part breaks our rules, tell me and I will remove it, I'll be watching!

Ok.. I started with Sydney's last phone pinging in the 600 block of 7th street in Wilber
http://www.myantelopecountynews.com/neligh

Then I added Trail's last known Wilber address which did not give me a physical address but rather a photo of his house..
.

Google Earthing "600 block 7th st, Wilber, Ne" dropped me literally in front of the house next door to Trail's old home. I dropped into Street view, turned around, and there it was..

So I started looking around and sure enough, there was the high school .02 miles south of Trails old home, and two ponds to either side of the residence. The larger pond is about 2.5 miles away if I remember correctly. The smaller pond, "Wilber Reservoir Number 1" is .25 miles away driving and matched the shape for all the photos I found online of the pond being searched by LE.

So, to recap all that, apparently the home near the high school is the last known residence of AT. Sydney's phone last pinged damn near in his old front yard. The pond searched nearby was .25 miles from his old home. I tried to find a Wilber address for BB but no luck.
