“I think most of us believe somebody hurt Tyler,” Barth says. “We don’t know why. We don’t know if it was a random act.”

A Facebook page “Let’s Find Tyler Goodrich” created by friends and family now has nearly 30,000 followers and there are posts shared every day.

Tyler’s father tells Dateline that, at this point, he does not believe his son is alive.

“I know him too well. Tyler could never do this to us. He could not do it to his friends, to his coworkers, to his family,” Lonnie says. “My son is dead. He is not missing. His body is missing.

Sadly it seems he was extremely emotional and despondent that night, and therefore he may have done something impulsive and out of character. In any case, there is still a chance answers will come.

I'm really surprised that he's not been found and that nobody responsible has been charged. I don't think that Tyler is alive. I've followed the case elsewhere and I'll go out on a limb and say that I don't get the vibe that his husband was involved. Perhaps I'll have to eat those words at some time - he of course could be involved - but for me at least for now the pieces don't fit for Marshal to have killed Tyler.

I agree, I don't think he's alive and I definitely don't think his husband is involved at all.

Sadly, I think the odds are against him being alive. I also think there were things that happened leading up to his disappearance that haven't been told to LE. I also believe more things happened the night of Tyler's disappearance. The official story is too simple and contrived. I think it's possible there were other people involved in this story, though I don't know who. While I believe they were planning a divorce, I don't think it was a "grown apart" situation, but possibly jealousy or some other aggravating factor.

The children/teens they adopted may know some of the story, but don't want to speak up for fear of being put back into foster care or something similar.

All JMO, just my uninformed opinion.

Initally, I strongly suspected he did something to Tyler. This was no different than any other case where DV might have been involved - I always give the spouse a hard side-eye.

But after all this time and as more information became available, like you I feel M isn't responsible at all. The relationship was unraveling, Tyler likely couldn't accept that. It seemed like there was a bit of gas-lighting going on, which could have put Tyler in a certain state of mind :(

The million dollar question is where he could have gone and why he hasn't been found? Does that leave room for hope that he is still alive?

I think about Tyler often. He is one of those missing people that just stays with me.

Maybe he jumped into the river and his body is caught in ravines???

Can you be so very desperate? Running from the home and into a river?

Or perhaps he ran from home with every intention of going home at some point but something else happened and he never made it back to his children

I'm still puzzled over the fact that LE and the 911 recording revealed there was no problem or crime when his partner called 911. Why would you call 911 if there was no evidence of a disturbance or disagreement?

I wonder if LE checked phone records for everyone in the house?

But we don’t know what happened after he left the house. Was he drinking and got disoriented and slipped into the river? Was it suicide? Did he run into danger after he left the house while he was running around? I know when I’m upset or I’m angry, I’m far less vulnerable, meaning, I put my guard down, doing things that i normally wouldn’t do.

Sorry! I was using voice-to-text and didn’t check it.

Rewritten version: But we don’t know what happened after he left the house. Was he drinking and got disoriented and slipped into the river? Was it suicide? Did he run into danger after he left the house while he was running around? I know when I’m upset or I’m angry, I’m far less vulnerable, meaning, I put my guard down, doing things that i normally wouldn’t do.

Thanks for the revision. Those are good questions.

There are cases on Websleuths of people who leave home upset and are found later, unfortunately having taken their own lives in various ways. If there was a bridge? People do jump or accidentally slip in near the edge. It sounds to me like he was an emotional person and very upset that night, so in my opinion, something like that may have happened, though it's hard to think about.
