And according to the video in the OP,The major thing (we know of) that cries out, "Handyman!" is the fact he hasn't been seen in the neighborhood since baby Lisa's disappearance. That alone makes "Jersey" suitable for checking into, and kudos to KCPD for doing just that.

he stayed just a few doors down from the Irwin home, wandering from home to home asking for a place to live + to pick up any work / odd jobs homeowners might have.
JMO - Chances are he asked the Irwins too with everyone else nearby why would he skip over their home?
